It was great to have him along former state representative and now a candidate for Congress in the seventh congressional district.
This is a guy who knows who he is who's comfortable on his own skin.
And I just I'm very, very pleased that Democrats have found someone who is a good fit for that district.
I don't know who's going to win that race.
All I can say is he's a good candidate.
100% agree on that.

It was announced We're out of baseball season now after the evil Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series
But Brewer's manager, Pat Murphy, for back to back years, has gotten the award for National League Manager of the Year.
No Brewer's manager had ever won it before.
Pat Murphy won it last year, and now he wins it this year, back to back.
How about that, Summers?
No, Pat Murphy ran away with it as well.
He showed me that he'd made it all the way to the National League Championship Series this year.
They were the best team record-wise in all of Major League Baseball, an incredible season.
And our great sports reporter, Mike Clemens,
was able to get some some sound from this, as they say.

He seemingly has no ego and and we heard from one of the guys who worked on the Fox Sports crew from Major League Baseball and we're hopefully gonna have him back He's called in before on the show because he would hit he helped with a whole pocket pancake thing which is fascinating in
syrup Yeah, brought in the syrup and so we're gonna have the guy here on the show here soon.
He has a Madison business a Madison connection and He's told us before on this show that
Murphy came in and hung out with the Fox crew not the not the play-by-play, you know pretty boys But the guys and gals who work on the cameras and the quick just the people who actually get the broadcast on the air He seems to be a very down-to-earth kind of guy and now here's Brewer manager Pat Murphy talking about
You know, you have certain standards that you believe in, and I believe that young people want to be directed.
It's hungry players.
You know, Arnold brings me these guys I've never heard of, and he swears that they're good.
And you know what?
He's right most of the time.
These guys are hungry to play.
They're aware of what it takes.
And I'm just proud to be part of it.
Yeah.

Talk about Matt Arnold, the GM there of the Brewers, just brings them these guys.
Murphy is not necessarily out.
I'm sure he has a part of determining, obviously, who plays, but it's other people going out and finding guys like Durbin, who, by the way, I'm happy for the kid from Wisconsin, from Madison here, who won National League Rookie of the Year, but he plays for the Braves.
I wish it would have been Durbin, because I'm a Brewer fan.
You know, who knew that Durbin was going to be such a great find, rookie of the year at third base?
Who knew that Bryce Terrang was going to be one of the best hitters in baseball this year?
He's only one second or third year in the majors, I think.
Sal Freelick continues to to impress Jackson.
Cheerio continues to impress all of these guys who a couple of years ago you never heard of.
I'm like, that's not his name.
But
Yeah.
And with these younger guys, Murphy being a college coach for several years, he knows the right balance of being kind of the parent and tough guy.
but also letting guys play as well.

I think you got to be authentic and you got to be in it for the right reasons and it takes a while.
Again, I was lucky.
I got to be a bench coach for eight years for one of the best.
It was like I was learning what's going to be my way if I ever get a shot.
But it is.
It's a balance.
It's got to be part of your authentic self.
You've got to mean it, and you've got to live it, and then they'll trust you.

in the state of Wisconsin.
By the way, we are now under one year from the next cheese days because it's only every, it's still big.
They only have it in Monroe every other year and 2026 is the year for the next cheese days.

You get to taste cheese.

And so the point is I've, I've explored and opened my cheese palette and I've warmed up a little bit more to Swiss that I did, that I used to.

Little breaking news here for you on this Wednesday afternoon.
This according to CBS News, an effort to force the United States House representative vote.
On compelling the Justice Department to release materials related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein secured the final signature it needed this afternoon after House Speaker Mike Johnson delayed the swearing in of a newly elected Democrat for seven weeks.
The effort known as a discharge petition
defies House GOP leaders who have opposed putting legislation backed by Democratic Representative Ro Khanna of California and Republican Representative Thomas Massey of Kentucky on the floor.
Khanna and Massey introduced the bipartisan measure titled the Epstein Files Transparency Act in July as pressure intensified on the Trump administration to release more Epstein related files.
Their bills
as well as several other endeavors to release the materials led to the disruption of several committee meetings installed floor action on other legislation before the House began its August recess days earlier.
Massey vowed to keep the Epstein issue a priority and filed a discharge petition upon the return in early September.
A discharge petition enables members of the lower chamber to bypass the House leadership if
They can get a majority of members 218 to sign on.
All House Democrats and four Republicans have added their names.
Besides Massey, GOP representatives, Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia, Nancy Mace of South Carolina, and Lauren Bulbart of Colorado have signed on.
two special elections in Virginia and Arizona in September provided the final two signatures for Democrats to reach the 218 number threshold.
Representative, as we mentioned earlier, Adelina Kahalva was elected on September 23rd to fill the seat of her late father Raul, added her name to the petition moments ago this afternoon, shortly after she was sworn in.
She pointed to Epstein survivors in the house gallery who said she was said who she said were present in hearing the swearing in.
So there you go.
That is the latest.
The discharge petition has been signed with the required 218 member signatures.
So we'll see what's next.
The big question really politically is will it matter?
I mean, we've said this time and time again on the show, probably the most honest thing in my opinion that Donald Trump has ever said was during the campaign, I can't remember, 16 or 20, when he said I could shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue and my people would still vote for me, which I think is pretty accurate.
So even if all this stuff comes out, is it going to matter in a large political sense?

As long and look, I'm no fan of Marjorie Taylor Greene or Boulevard or Mace already.
But yes, interesting that your point and Trigvea's point, they're reading the political tea leaves and saying maybe the winds are shifting.

about how he and the Donald Trump administration are getting the military back to basics.
And he called out specifically Vice President J.D.
Vance and former Trump attorney and New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Here is Hegseth talking to the troops.
And the roadmap is pieced through strength.
The third ingredient President Trump has injected is good old-fashioned Indiana common sense.
Common sense is back at the White House and it's back at the Pentagon.
Common sense means putting war fighting, lethality, as the senator mentioned, training, discipline, accountability, readiness at the forefront of everything we do at the Department of War.
That means no more social justice, no more political correctness, no more toxic.
ideological garbage that infected the department.
As I've said before, but we repeat and we repeat because as a good old television host, you know, it takes a while for it to actually sink in.
No more identity months, no more DEI offices, no more dudes in dresses.
No more climate change.
It actually was a thing.
No more dudes and dresses, Zomers.
The Secretary of Defense, Department of War, has said no more dudes and dresses.
Can we just back it up a little bit, make sure people hear this clearly, maybe by five seconds, whatever, and then we'll play the rest of it.

What does pay for play mean?
How does it work?
Well, the term pay to play in politics means a corrupt or unethical practice where political contributions lead to favors from the government.
A story this week shows how it works.
In 2024, the Biden administration became a free tax filing service called IRS direct file.
It was easy to use and came with no upselling as happens with services like TurboTax and H&R Block.
Direct File was popular with the 300,000 taxpayers who used it last year.
In a few years, 30 million taxpayers with simple returns could have used Direct File, but the service has just been killed.
The IRS
wanted to launch a free filing service many years ago after all employers and financial institutions send the IRS what it needs for basic tax prep but money flowing from the tax prep industry to politicians prevented the program for many years and now in the current pay-to-play administration the tax prep industry once again has gotten its way
Life is less affordable with inflation and tariffs.
Killing direct file is one more setback.

But what's just another reason why we need to get involved?
As Obama keeps saying this, but I believe it as former president Obama is fond of saying, don't boo vote.
And I think in today's world as well, you know,
It's fine to be emotional now and again, but you know, don't, don't go around being angry and upset all the time, rally people, right?
Get out and, and engage folks, build relationships, register people, and then get ready for these midterm elections next year.
That's the best way to try to equalize things in our world, try to do the right thing.

Now there is a guy that's willing to reach across the aisle to get things done and bring balance back to the federal government.
So I hope people in the northern Wisconsin look up Fred Clark for Congress, read up on him, see him if he's in your neighborhood because he's the type of guy that will actually help us get things done and make life better in my humble
