Brewers came up short yesterday in the final game against the other team from Chicago.
although the White Sox, there was eight nothing or something like that.
It was over before it began, but that means hopefully the Brewers will get back on the right track tonight, looking forward to going down there for that one.

In the Madison area, if you are going to a head down towards Dodgeville and Platteville in that direction on 18-151, be aware that that highway, US 18-151 heading east is closed, fully closed at County Highway K because of a crash.
Eastbound traffic should take the County ID exit north through Barnabelle, then County K
then south back to us 18 151 will keep you updated on that but again 18 uh pardon me eastbound 18 151 uh around the barnavilt area that is fully closed and also us highway 12 in lake janeva closed right now beyond the ramp for lake janeva because of a crash so us eastbound
Yeah, pardon me.

12 eastbound in Lake Geneva is fully closed at this time.
Those are the two major trafficking incidents as we come on the air.

Spring has sprung and so has news of the day.
And I'm so actually normally Trevi comes on Wednesdays, but he had other things going on.
And just like Sam, the heck of a guy that he is, he says, well, Todd, I'll pop on on Friday.
And as it works out, Trevi, I'm actually really glad you're here today because we do have breaking news.
We hear so much about what's going on out there where you're at in DC with the Trump administration and retaliatory efforts, authoritarian types of government.
Of course, Trevi spent time fighting authoritarians in Eastern Europe.
And here now breaking news that Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers moments ago has, and this according to channel 3000.com, WISC, the CBS affiliate here in Madison, Governor Evers firing back now at White House Borders are Tom Holman over comments made about Evers' guidance to state workers who are approached by federal immigration officials.
In a memo last month, Evers advised state workers to call legal counsel
if they are encountered by ICE agents in the workplace on state grounds and avoid answering questions, giving ICE agents access to files or computer systems or access to non-public areas.
Holman was asked yesterday about Evers' guidance specifically telling reporters at the White House, quote, wait to see what's coming, unquote.
In a video today,
Governor Evers said Republicans were lying about the guidance, quote, I haven't broken the law, I haven't committed a crime, and I've never encouraged or directed anyone to break any laws or to commit any crimes, unquote, Evers said.
Evers called Holman's comments concerning and accused the federal government of abusing its power, quote, as disgusted as I am about the continued actions of the Trump administration,
I am not afraid," Evers said.
I've never once been discouraged from doing the right thing, and I will not start today."
Several Republican figures, including turning point USA founder Charlie Kirk, amplified Holman's comments against Evers on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
Representative Kelvin Calhoun, or Callahan, rather, Republican of Tomahawk here in Wisconsin,
shared Kirk's post and this is a direct quote from a sitting state representative Republican in Wisconsin quote stick evers in the same cell as the Milwaukee judge arrest arrest arrest unquote Callahan also shared the AI generated photo of President Donald Trump and a police uniform arresting evers again make clear that was AI generated photo online
Holman's comments came less than a week after Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested over, pardon me, after FBI Director Cash Patel said she helped a man who was in her courtroom evade ICE.
That is the story according to Channel 3000, the CBS affiliate here at this hour.
In Madison, of course, we had Matt Flynn on earlier this week talking about this, talking about the arrest of Judge Dugan in Milwaukee.
Matt Flynn, attorney, two-time chair of the Democratic Party saying, in his opinion, Judge Duggan did nothing illegal to warrant being arrested like that.
Trigby Olsen, again, you have spent time in Eastern Europe for those listeners that might be new, especially in our new time slot.
only person that I know who has been banned from Russia directly by Vladimir Putin because of your work against authoritarians in Eastern Europe.
What do you make of this news today concerning Governor Evers?
Well, I would say it's troubling, right?
Like, it's not great.
I just think...
There's part of me that wonders if some of this has to do with you know, Wisconsin Well being essential in Donald Trump getting his majority Also, you know Sort of sent a blow to he and his vertical by not electing his chosen candidate for the state Supreme Court hence You start messing around in Wisconsin, right?
Like I don't think it's a coincidence
Scotland's ground zero for a lot of things and and so, you know, this is what they try and do they try and intimidate people into silence they try and intimidate people into Taking actions and they they leverage the power of government against people
Of course you're talking to the US Supreme Court race here a month and a half ago or so which Brad Schimmel
former Republican AG here in Wisconsin, Attorney General, who was endorsed not just by Trump, but also by Elon Musk, who came out here, put a cheese hat on, spent $20 million Musk did in this race, came to Green Bay, and then lost by...
by 10 points to Judge Susan Crawford, who is now the Justice Elect here in the Wisconsin State Supreme Court.
We haven't heard a lot from old Elon Musk out there in Washington since that loss.
And you get to this great point, Trigby, and you know this world better than I do, that these people don't muck around that Donald Trump is nothing but small and vindictive.
And if he thinks he's been hit, he's going to try to hit back twice as hard.
Yeah, a hundred percent and you know, ultimately You know these all autocrats they're about trying to demonstrate their inevitability and their invincibility and create fear to do it You know at some level and this it may seem irrational to anybody who's rational But in the way their mind works, you know, Wisconsin made them look bad it made them show that
You know, he's not inevitable and he's not invincible.
And by the way, did Elon Musk look like a deep
bad guy?
I'm not sure what's going on.

the Trump administration targeting Governor Tony Evers specifically threatening them basically because Evers last week said hey to state employees.
follow the law, but don't go out of your way to do anything for ICE that you wouldn't normally do.
Don't break any laws and make sure you consult with legal counsel within your agency before you give them access to stuff, which of course is their prerogative.
And now you got Tom Holman and this state representative Callahan from up North and Tomahawk saying they were gonna throw Tony Evers in jail just like they did Judge Dugan last week.

ABC Disney's already settled and CBS is basically looking at capitulating and looking at that.

And call the the legal counsel of your agency before you let these guys just run rough house over stay agencies and Holman basically threatening to to
cracked down on Evers like they have on Judge Dugan in Milwaukee last week.

He amplified the Hulman comments against Evers on social media.
And then you got this goofball state representative, Calvin Callahan.
Mr. Callahan, a Republican of Tomahawk.
Look at his I'm just look at look at his picture and then you can make your own judgments on this guy But in his Twitter account, he's all about the Trumpster.
He apparently says he claims to be a former staffer of representative Sean Duffy so that that should tell you a little something and This is just I mean this is beyond the pale trippy in my opinion as you and I both worked in the state Capitol we both worked for members of Congress and a sitting state representative Republican
This Callahan from Tomahawk says, quote, stick evers in the same cell as the Milwaukee judge.
Arrest, arrest, arrest, unquote.
Now, look, you and I've known some characters in Wisconsin State Legislature over the years.
I don't remember a sitting state legislator calling for the arrest of a governor without any evidence of wrongdoing.
Do you?
No.
I mean, it's just so ridiculous.
It is so ridiculous.
He had a little mileage reimbursement issue, I think, didn't he?
Did he scrutiny over his mileage reimbursements?
I think so.
That.
Well, yeah, he looks like the kind of guy who would have a discrepancy over his mileage reimbursement issues.
Yeah.
It was like a double dipping thing.
And then he had, he, yeah,
he said a few, I think.
It's just again, you and I have talked about it on this program before the extremism This is beyond saying I have a difference of opinion.
This is beyond saying Look, we should you know if the guy has an opinion that we should crack down harder That's his opinion, but do it up for a city legislator to call for the arrest of a sitting governor
I mean, I was in the state capital during Act 10 when the Democratic Senate left the state, and I don't even ever remember.
You know, you didn't have Bob Jouk or Tim Cullen or Fred Risser calling for Scott Walker to be arrested.
That didn't happen.
No.
No.
Of course not.
It's just another demonstration of the lack of civility.
Bingo.
It is.
It is quite break with common decency too.
Yeah, it's.
It's sad as someone who I know you appreciate institutions of our government as much as I do.
And I just think it's a sad day for democracy and a sad day for our institutions.

I try on this show, not saying I'm perfect at all.
I have a lot of my faults on my own, but I try not to go too over the top, if and until things are warranted.
But I'm gonna read this question, because I think it's a good one, and it's something I've heard just on the street.
And I like your perspective, Trivi.
Matt Middleton asks, quote, can you guys give us a perspective on whether or not we are currently in a civil war or not?
It's us, certainly,
It is certainly an information war being fought by the far right in Russia on democracies, unquote.
Trigvie?
I would not say we're in a civil war.
I would say that there is a global battle going on between autocracy and democracy.
And there is a realignment that is not
Quite frankly in the interest of the American people and it's ironic that it's being executed at the top levels of the United States government that People ended up choosing this and now there's there are quite frankly a fair amount of people who did choose it Who are having buyers remorse?
I'm not quite sure how they didn't get What was that state?
But I think that's really what you're seeing is a is an unraveling and that's the irony is
all wrapped in this idea of make America great again.
I'm unraveling of many of the things that have made America great, both domestically and internationally.

I don't know that we're in a civil war, but we certainly are in a fight for what kind of country are we going to be?
Are we going to be one where we have faith and believe in each other?
And, you know, in places like the state of Wisconsin, we wear green and gold.
Where are we going to be a place where we live in fear of one another and live in a world of red
and blue divides?

I don't think you've gone more than a few days without calling for President Trump's arrest over the years.
Hypocrisy.

Well, John, I like Trigby speak for himself.
I don't think that I've ever called for President Trump being arrested over nothing.
I've agreed with a jury of his peers, which found that he was a 43, 45-time convicted, 43-time convicted felon in a jury of his peers.
I think a guy who's found guilty should be locked up.
And I also think that after January 6, a bipartisan committee, including Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney of the Republican side, found that Donald Trump was the instigator of an attempt to undo an election.
I think that warrants a...
You know having his day in court, but certainly be arrested.
So I think there's a difference there track me, but you can speak for yourself
I Don't recall ever having said that Donald Trump should be arrested.
I Certainly have been critical and it felt like that like every American citizen he has a right to due process But he doesn't have a right to violate the law and if he has
Like anyone else, he should be accorded the basic rights that he's given.
But Donald Trump and some of his, and it kind of gets to my point, Donald Trump and some of the people like the person you tapped it in seemed to be living in fear and thinking that there should be one set of rules for one set of people and a different set of rules for others at the end of the day.
And you know that's sad honestly because as somebody who has spent a lot of time traveling all over the world and working around the world I Think there's a lot of people that don't appreciate enough How lucky they have been and quite frankly as somebody who you know oftentimes talks about my favorite place in the world
being the bridge over the St.
Croix River.
I think there's a lot of people in Wisconsin that don't get even within the United States.
I'll likely they are to be from a place like Wisconsin.

Well, maybe not directly to him, but this this goofball Callahan in the state legislature saying to stick governor Evers in the same cell as a Milwaukee judge unquote and saying quote arrest arrest arrest unquote after a Tom Holman the Immigration borders are whatever you want to call them for Trump is singling out governor Evers because Evers is simply saying to state employees.

If ICE tries to raid a state agency, follow the law and talk to the legal counsel before you let these guys just come in and run rough shot over everything.

I mean, they may be afraid, which that in and of itself to me is just

I'm sure when Marco Rubio looks in the mirror, he sees a great American on the other side.
But if it really is because he's afraid, you know, you think the boys who were running off of boats at Normandy or the ones who were in Iroajima weren't afraid.

And I, let's talk about Calvin Callahan for a second, right?
He would probably profess to be a real limited government guy.
Politicians are bad, but I was elected.

He's a career politician.
He's a guy who wants to be.
And my guess is the reason he's saying what he's saying is he's thinking this is how attention and move

We reported earlier that us 18 151
Eastbound is closed at County K near Barneveld because of a crash and now WISC channel 3000 reporting that that crash there is at least one fatality the crash was reported around 1255 at the intersection of Highway 18 151 in County K law enforcement still on the scene apparently it was a semi-car accident and it's unclear how many victims there were but at least one person now is being reported
as being killed law enforcement saying the highway will be likely shut down until 6 p.m.
So it's going to be a while so if you are planning on going either to and from Madison or Dodgeville down towards Plattville at 151 you may want to find an alternate route that is the only total closure of a roadway around the state of Wisconsin other places suburban Milwaukee right now the normal drive time closures at this hour will keep you up to breast up to
Ubreast keep you up rest.
You would really keep somebody up up to a breast, right?

And now word today that the Trump administration is going to jerk him around, worse the jerking him around, on their mortgages, on their home loans.
Oh, and by the way, Donald Trump decided he's going to rename Veterans Day.

But anyway, I want to get to I want to get to this before we do what's worse, because we've been telling you we're going to talk about it.
This was in the Washington Post headline, federal workers required to report their daily location.
Email says federal election commission employees soon will be required to declare their work location.
In a daily questionnaire, part of the Trump administration's efforts to monitor compliance with return to office mandates and identify, quote, unquote, unused space that may be ripe for disposal.
Now, I'm going to stop right there.
That's quite a quote.
Unused space that may be ripe for disposal.
Continuing on the story, that's according to an email sent to FEC employees and obtained by the Washington Post.
The email said the FEC had prepared the quote daily occupancy tool, unquote, in response to directives from the Office of Management and Budget and the General Service Administration.
Here's the key quote, quote, unlike the five bullet points,
This is not a strong encouragement, unquote, said the email referencing the command from Elon Musk.
The all federal workers submit weekly emails listing five accomplishments.
The email noted in bold and italicized text, quote, all employees are required italicized to submit this daily information, unquote.
It is not immediately clear whether other agencies are launching the same tracking technique, but records obtained by the post show the government several months ago began developing a tool for that purpose.
In late February, human resource chiefs across agencies gathered for a call led by the Office of Personnel Management, according to an email obtained or summarizing the call.
During the discussion,
Representatives for GSA announced they were working on quote a new federal daily check-in tool, unquote.
The email shows a test email went out from a GSA email address the same day.
GSA was hoping to debut the check-in tool by the first week in March.
According to this email.

It was on Rachel Maddow, I believe, last night or the night before.
And it was from a, I believe, an NBC affiliate in Oklahoma City.
It is a mother who happens to be Latino, who is a United States citizen.
She moved, she and her two kids, moved from, I believe, New Jersey to Oklahoma.
for a new life.
The husband's back still in New Jersey finishing up his job before he joins them in Oklahoma.
And in the middle of the night, and it's still up for grabs, whether it was ICE, FBI, and the US Marshals, a combination of one raided her home, broke in, never showed the search warrant that I'm aware of.
Said they had one, apparently, I guess.
And forced this woman out, their kids in their underwear, in the rain, in the front yard, took computers,
money, cash, everything in the house, phones, and then said, we've been a little bit rough with you.
Sorry about that.
And left.
This can't be America no more.
Right.
And this woman was United States citizen.
I thought my daughter was lying to me.
No.
It's true.
I'm sorry to tell you, but it's true.
And again, you watched the morning shows on the major networks this morning.
I didn't see that.
People know why aren't the major networks talking about this stuff

I guess because it's my former party, and I still know people who call themselves Republicans, I differentiate between Trump and the MAGA, people who are elected officials in Congress, and your average run-of-the-mill person in Eau Claire County, who says, hey, you know, I voted Republican for 25, 30 years, whatever, and our county sheriff.
runs under that.
I'm not sure if I have no idea whether the Eau Claire County Sheriff, what party they're from.
But whether it's your town, your town board person or whatever.
And and I think there are people like that, local elected officials that might still use the Republican moniker.
And I think those folks are are different, not all, but some than the people in charge of Washington, D.C.
But to the question, I don't know what they're thinking.
Because, and that's the thing, that's why I love taking this show on the road and we will again soon.
When you go to Eau Claire and shift coffee, or you go to Green Bay or Hayward or Richland Center or South Milwaukee, the Wisconsin, the America that I find is nothing like what the Trump administration is describing.
So I think it's a really great question to pose.
Where do these people in the leadership of the MAGA party
what kind of a country they think they're going to have left, then it goes back to the old poem, right?
And then they came for me.
And there was nobody left.
If we don't, if we don't stand up for the Constitution, if we don't stand up for the rule of law, for other people, at some point it gets back to us.
So I guess that's what, if nothing else, stand up for selfish reasons, right?

I said, well, what law did he break?

I would suggest probably more effective to call US Senator Ron Johnson, Republican Ron Johnson's office, because he actually represents us, right?
And just based on past experience being a staffer, both the state and federal level, it's more
more effective when we call our own people that represent us.

Understand the passion and where you're going.
I would just suggest folks across Wisconsin, if you
have
a Democratic House member, call Republican U.S.
Senator Ron Johnson office and say, look, keep your hands off of Governor Tony Evers.

And without hesitation, he said, well, I'll tell you.
He goes, see, it's easy.
He says, just don't spend too much time with him.
No, no, no, no, it's true.
He goes out now.
He goes, uh.
My wife, you know, she's in all these quilting things.
I don't care about that.
And he says, but I like to go out and kayak and ride bicycles.
She isn't like that.
But we do that once that we get together, we travel somewhere for a week or two, but then that's enough.
He goes, that's enough.
And then we each do our own thing.
So the secret is not to spend too much time.
I'm kind of like that.
Like I want, I want time together, but you also want a little bit of time alone.

for PBS and NPR.
The head of the public broadcasting system said this afternoon the President Donald Trump's executive order aiming to slash public subsidies to public broadcasting institutions at the public broadcasting system and national public radio was blatantly unlawful.
NPR's chief also vowed to challenge the decision.
Public Broadcasting CEO Paula Kerger said the Republican president's order quote threatens our ability to serve the American public with educational programming as we have for the past 50 years She went on to say we are currently exploring all options to allow PBS to continue to serve our member stations and all Americans unquote Trump signed the order late last night alleging
In the broadcasters reporting, the order instructs the Corporation of Public Broadcasting and other federal agencies to, quote, cease federal funding, unquote, for PBS and national public radio and further requires that they work to root out indirect sources of public financing for the news organizations.
I'm gonna step away from the story.
What the heck does that mean?

All of us who might give a couple of bucks during an auction every year to Wisconsin Public Radio or Wisconsin Public Television, Trump's gonna track that down, throw us in the jail with Governor Evers and Judge Dugan.

But you play this out to its full extreme and this is where we're going Having the government not even a government Donald Trump and his cronies meddling in our lives It's gone way beyond government being in our bedroom folks This is Donald Trump and the Maga Republicans interfering in our communities
