Man Oh guys you can't win them all it's still heartbreaking to lose an extra innings, but You know I come away from it thinking yeah, it would have been great.
You get the win.
It's done, right?
We all feel great about it, but At the same time the brewers have to win just one of the next three games if there are three games They have three tries to win one game and I feel pretty good about that with this team
For that exact reason, Jimmy, I think you can say we're in the realm of annoyance instead of heartbreak.
I mean, there were so many moments where it felt like, I mean, and there'll be moments you look back to like Hamilton's error, well, whatever you want to call that, and the redeeming homerun to be sure.
But I believe that when Ian Seymour had to come out, it's like, all right, here's the opportunity, then Pratt puts up the homer, here's the opportunity.
That said, five raised relievers, seven scoreless innings.
Credit where it's due, man.
They did exactly what they had to do to stop the brewers who came in hot.
I give them a lot of credit.
You might have another three chances at clenching the series here, but you made it a little bit more difficult on yourself, especially if you want to do it on Wednesday when you're down in Tampa and finish it out right there.
I need to head back to Milwaukee.
I believe only Harrison and Mizorowski.
plus Woodruff and a couple other maybe who pitched yesterday.
But those were really your two arms that didn't pitch at all.
So you might want it.
Might have a very interesting looking game tomorrow for the Brewers with not a whole lot of arms that they could be really fresh.
You know, they let him get to that record and they took him out and you could see that Ashby didn't want to leave.
But Pat Murphy has a plan and he's looking beyond.
you know, what might happen today.
He knows that if this game is being played Wednesday, that if they do get to that game five, he needs to have some guys available because Mizorowski, you know, along with the other brewers pitches, you're getting four or five innings out of these guys, maybe six if it's a gasser situation, right?
So you're going to need these guys to come out of the pen.
And, you know, good thing is, is that, you know, after tomorrow, there is a day off before they would have to go back and play Milwaukee.
So you do have some leeway with that with the pitching.
Again, I look at it this way, the race through absolutely
everything they had at the Brewers tonight, right down to their top player getting hurt in his at bat, that last at bat to set up the tying winning run, everything like that.
They used all their relievers and they don't have the bullpen that the Brewers do.
The Brewers absolutely have that part of it in their pocket.
They have that advantage.
And oh, by the way, they get to toss Mizorowski out there tomorrow in what will be yet another game clinching or series clinching scenario.
Honestly, one of the more bitter moments, not that I want to pile on to the negativity, but had this been the end of the series, it would have been Churio joining Babe Ruth as an all-time great offensive performance.
That said, it's going to be impossible to forget the performances that have already taken place.
Churio, I hope he can sleep easy tonight thinking, I got the next one.
I got the next one.
There's still a lot of reason for optimism here, guys.
Jimmy, I think you pointed it out perfectly, because the Brewers still have that bullpen edge.
The Rays have been playing just as much baseball as the Brewers have, so they're just as depleted, and I still like the Brewers.
Game five, game six, pick your time.
And they've come out on the right end of all of them, but one before today, and now two that they've come out on the wrong end.
And honestly, if it didn't go to extra innings, I wouldn't feel that.
bad about this like you're bound to lose some of these close games and when you do it in the extra innings it just hurts a little more.
When you're three outs away from getting a ring it really it sucks but you've got plenty of chances ahead and you're right.
I mean the brews have been hot with their bats.
They weren't so much tonight but they're going to find ways to capitalize right.
I mean there were so many animals.
in this game.
They had so many opportunities.
I think they had hit the ball over 100 miles an hour like five times and had like two hits at one point.
They're going to get their hits pretty soon here.
