Coming to Northeast Wisconsin live from the Civic Media Studios, this is Mino and the Mayor.
And here are your hosts, John Mino and Jim Schmidt.
Good morning.
Happy Friday to you.
Happy our last Friday in the month of June.
I'm sorry.
I love June.
Everybody loves June.
Has this been a
crappy?
Absolutely.
I was thinking that on the way in this morning because I hit a little rain, you know?
Yeah.
Todd was gone last week.
He goes, man, my God, it's Friday.
I'm like, dude, this is your first week back.
Is it?
Is it?
We're on like
a speed cycle of how quickly we get worn out through the course of a week.
We're on fast forward.
You don't get fast forward through a movie.
But next week's going to be short week.
Yeah.
Four days.
You know, it's fun.
And this would be like an old lazy guy thing.
Great.
That.
All right.
Tell us, John.
When you find a new cable channel type thing and there's like old TV shows and stuff on you hadn't seen on other channels like I just got prime because I wanted to watch some basketball games.
Caitlin Clark basketball games.
So you know the show I watched from start to finish now better call Saul.
It's
a
take off of Breaking Bad,
right?
Yeah, Breaking Bad.
Yeah, I have never seen that,
but that's what I'd like to sit and watch sometime with him.
You got it.
But I could
sleep last night till, so I think it was 321 this morning.
Oh, what?
I turned, you got, I told you, I got so much going on in my head that I'm trying to sort it out with different things.
And... I got up at 110.
Yeah.
I'm gonna go back to bed
after this show, huh?
Were you up ever since?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I had to get some stuff done.
I sent... Anyway, yeah.
I had to get some other stuff done.
And some of the stuff had to be done by the end of the month and some real estate stuff, so I got it done.
Anyway,
I
didn't sleep.
One of our favorites says, let's go.
Yes.
Vinny says, good morning, fellas.
All right.
Who else we got there?
Morning guys.
Jason.
Hello, Jason.
Well, we're going to give you our money's worth.
I guarantee you that.
We're going to give you our money's worth.
So I go to... We're
volunteers.
I go to festival yesterday just to get a salad.
Just wanted a salad.
And... It's a good start.
Yeah.
Like salad bar
or a prepackaged
or what?
They don't really have a salad bar anymore, right?
Yeah, they do.
Or you can make your own?
Yeah.
Oh, I thought since COVID that's all been shut down.
No, no, no.
But they don't sell the Chilean stuff anymore, do they?
They have soup, I don't know.
Do they?
Yeah.
I thought you couldn't do that.
Yeah.
Okay.
We should have done that.
Cause salad in the plastic thing isn't cheap.
I
was going to say
when you said
salad, I'm
thinking
this is going to be expensive.
However, that salad bar, you know, it's done by weight.
So I guess that kind of cheese is not cheap either.
But
anyway, so it's just by the salad.
And then there is a big thing of tuna salad with the noodles, you know, the big seashells.
Yeah.
And then there's the coleslaw and it's like,
Ooh, that looks good too.
So I thought, I'm going to be so good.
I'm having a salad.
I ate all three of them for lunch one after another.
Yeah.
How much did you spend?
It was over
20 bucks.
It was like 26 bucks or something.
Yeah, I know.
But he said, I'm so good.
I'm
so
healthy.
I'm just going to spend three of them.
But the funny thing is, I said, oh, I'm good almost through the weekend by nine o'clock last night.
Three empty containers sit next to my couch.
That's my problem.
If I've got food in the house,
I got something.
I
yeah, I've got to eat it.
Same with me last night.
It's a, I don't know if it is not a disease, but it's no,
it's from growing up and you had to eat everything on your plate and you didn't waste anything.
So if it's sitting in the fridge,
I don't ever, the only leftovers I ever remember in my life was meatloaf because we loved day old meatloaf sandwiches.
Everybody wanted those for their lunch.
I was grilling last night and
It all of a sudden, I didn't know it was going to rain.
It poured.
Oh my God, lightning and thunder and crazy.
But
it didn't start.
It just came down at once.
I actually got up,
watched TV or whatever, and I got up and looked out my door.
Is that
crazy?
I had to grab a plate for my umbrella to put over my head.
Didn't really work.
That was so
bad.
Can I just say something?
I don't mean this personal.
Well, the size of your head, that had to be a big plate.
Is that like the one you put the ham
on?
All right, she said I grabbed a platter.
I grabbed
a platter.
Not a worthy Easter platter.
Yeah.
Turkey.
Just throwing that out there.
Yeah.
Anyway, yeah, I couldn't believe how much it ran.
I mean, pouring.
Oh, man.
Didn't last all that long, but long enough to take the
food.
Yeah.
Boy, you know, it's so dangerous that people don't, um, although I will say, remember last week, Jim, I walked down to like quick trip here, you know, cross.
Well, not just to get a little whatever.
And I was walking there and it was really hot and humid and all these nice boats were on the water right down the thing.
By the time I got done a quick tour and I was walking back, something had just changed like nothing.
And you want to see people hurrying off the water.
But then there was a thing in, was it Texas, Todd or Illinois?
10 kids in a lake all got electric or they didn't all die.
But two of them are still really hospitalized.
But just but and you forget about that sometimes even though your parents always told you if it's lightning get out of the water
Oh,
yeah, but I mean
they were just
like by the water and it like skipped and hit them or something
that but that's the only time they do golf they Packer games they go football games.
They clean out lightning is unbelievably dangerous.
It really is it that's Yeah, you don't marathons, you know Lightning they're like, you know, they delay it.
That's
Yeah, we haven't figured that out.
Well,
high
school football.
Same thing.
They had those meters.
How far away it is.
Do they have that Georgia two time
when you do games?
Yeah,
they take that real serious.
They should.
Yeah.
Yeah, they do.
You don't.
OK, can I?
OK, when I go to hell, not hell.
Purgatory.
Purgatory
though.
But if you go to purgatory, you.
OK, now back to more Catholic information.
This is Catholic deals.
Some people don't.
If there is a purgatory and I can't believe you need people.
on earth praying for you to get one way or the other.
Oh my
goodness.
No.
I'm living that to you.
Or John, I think we all know where you're going.
God, it's gotten hot.
Anyway, so
yeah, and
I think there's a, I don't know you all that well, but I think there's a chance that you could.
I did something bad.
Me
too.
Remember you do live shots and TV
or
radio and that was always a big concern to it because we put those big antennas.
Yeah.
Oh,
man.
I got stories.
Oh, that's what I mean.
I mean, people have died in the business.
There's a whole thing about that.
I mean, it's like putting up a lightning rod and an electrical cord that you're holding coming from it.
I mean,
really crazy that I know.
But it's so anyway.
So I'm doing I've got a live shot set up.
at Timber Rattler's game with Jose Canseco's brother, Ozzie Canseco.
And I had my photographer, wonderful, one of the nicest guys who passed away so young, Jerry Van Handel.
And Jerry was setting up, I was in Green Bay, because in case that went down, I would be in the studio because of the weather, okay?
So.
Jerry calls it goes, hey, it's looking really nice.
He's one of those huge guy, but really say, hey, John, it's looking kind of nasty, really dark and the sky's a little concerned.
It's everything okay.
So I go to Jen that go, hey, John, just tell me, I got my, got a live shot.
I really need this live shot.
Nothing else, blah, blah, blah.
He goes, oh, there's some stuff moving in.
What time?
Yeah, I go about 20 after he goes, a few minutes later, I would break it down, call Jerry.
John said, you're fine.
Listen anything for the broadcast
because you know what you want to know a panicky feeling that I still get dreams of that I had this week You got to go do your show and you get nothing prepared and it's like go do a test or do whatever I still have those nightmares
You're only a true.
I think you're only a true broadcaster if
you have you
have those isn't that something and my dreams I have those okay.
It's I go no studio.
It's a studio.
I've never really been in before
I
can't find the right CD.
I forgot my glasses so I can't
It's always at one radio station.
Really?
And it's right down the way here.
W-I-X-X.
In the B-A-Y building or the other building?
Well, it's in the B-A-Y building
because
that's where I worked.
Wow.
But every time I have that panic dream,
it's there.
It's true.
People don't realize that about that business.
How you're flying without a safety net and you have however many people out there that want to be your critics or whatever.
And it's not just even out
there, even in the building,
even in the building.
You're right.
Maybe more so in the building.
Yeah.
But if you're dreaming that today, you know, read those books on what it means.
I mean, that means you're you're not prepared for something or there's something that you need to do something.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There could be like, you know, I'm saying there could be.
Yeah.
I don't know.
But they say the same
ones if it's sorry for a test, if they didn't study,
I get
that dream.
And yeah, sure enough, I've got.
something I'm behind on at work or something I gotta do, you know what I mean?
That is a scary dream though.
That is
a scary, scary dream.
And it's like, wait a minute, we're having a test today?
And you
can give every detail.
Oh my God, I can see the test.
Looking around, it's like, everybody knows except me.
So I was back.
So in that dream, I'm going, I'm on the set.
And I think it's J. Johnson.
I mean, it's so vivid turns to me.
What's in sports?
And I make up the whole thing.
I make the whole man.
Well, you know what?
I could probably do that in a certain way.
You could.
But it's still that thing of not being prepared, not having that thing.
Who else has those?
Let us know
if
they're
Texas.
If
anybody else, what you do for a living, and
if you have those dreams.
It's just the total unknown.
It's not like, oh, that's right.
There's a test.
I'm not prepared.
It's like, I had no idea.
There's gonna be a test.
So yeah, that's a weird dream.
I haven't had that in a while.
Thank God.
I don't know.
I
had them just the other night.
Wow.
Let's see what else we got going first day of blue ox blue grass festival in Eau Claire in the books thunderstorms mud everywhere Reminded me of Woodstock Well, that's worth saying at the old country fest in Oshkosh that parking lot used to get did you ever have to go down there Todd?
Oh, yeah,
that parking lot was brutal wasn't it?
Yeah when they get rain Terry says nice Friday.
Let's go
Texas let us know people what what kind of dreams you have or it's like really I'm still dreaming about this stuff
Yeah,
yeah, yeah, but it is a common thing dreams.
I don't know.
I don't think we have dreams
figured out yet No, I don't either I I don't either I don't either subconscious it but you never it but everybody you see in your dream But there's nobody there's nobody in your dream that you've seen that you haven't seen in real life.
Yeah
No, it's true John you don't there you don't there's not a character in your dream that you haven't seen before
Hmm.
Yeah, that's really I mean that's been like proven sort of yes, I don't I told you I once saw that shrink because I was dreaming a lot and right after it's like 30 years ago and Don's like you gotta go see somebody someone saw dr. Butler.
You still got his number.
He died.
That's too bad for you.
I'll live the
doc
Okay, let's see.
Okay.
Oh, this is okay.
This
is not going to end well.
I have
had
dreams.
Our people
are so snarky.
Okay.
It's mind boggling.
Go ahead and read it, Jim.
Let's see.
I've had dreams.
Bad
dreams.
I
had.
That's what I said.
No,
you
didn't.
You
just said I had dreams.
It's bad dreams.
Oh, okay.
All right.
I
have bad dreams that
we hired Mino, and we find him sleeping in some of our home's beds, Michael.
There you go.
And you're the guy that wants to hire
him?
That's not one of those things.
This is so crazy.
Okay, Michael.
Thank you.
Could happen.
Could happen.
Could happen.
Today is free ticket Friday once again, which is
awesome.
We'll talk more about that coming
up.
Great.
We got a great lineup for you, folks.
Fantastic lineup.
Great guests.
Mind on the mirror.
It is Friday.
Happy Friday to you, Man on the Bear and Todd back in the pilot seat here at 97.9 FM WGBW.
Jim, I'm gonna be honest with you.
And you you won't be offended or whatever like that because you've always been in you know where You're your job dependent on your public appeal and people go into the things and you know, okay?
If there was like a vote, you know if I remember what was the the island thing the old island with Richard Whatever
job the island.
Yeah survivor
survivor.
Yeah,
yeah Todd would be the last one standing if we had a vote amongst our listeners.
Oh Yeah
Oh,
yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I don't.
Yeah.
If
it's like
voting
off people, you and I get voted off.
Todd would be the one that
they even with our wives voting.
Yes.
Yeah.
I know.
Yeah.
I know.
Not even a question.
My mom.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Every one of our people.
I love you, Jimmy.
But I had to go with Todd.
I can't
vote off Todd.
Yeah.
Right.
No.
There's only one Todd.
I've got 10 kids.
We're here on a Friday morning.
This forecast, it's for the month of June, pretty much.
64, 68, 69, clouds and sunny, high in the mid-70s.
Then it's supposed to get like crazy hot for a day, right?
But I don't think June was as bad as... Really?
It just
seems great and rainy all the time.
It was very cold.
It was very cold earlier this month.
But man, we had some good days.
But it's June, you're supposed to have like all good
days.
No, I know.
You should have like 15 to 20 good days.
I think we maybe had five, right?
Yeah, yeah.
Because then it was so hot for a couple days, too, that it's like...
Too hot, you mean?
Yeah.
Didn't you think that one day was, was it last
Sunday?
Yeah, that was hot.
Whoo!
That was
hot.
Because I'll tell you what, even downtown where
I live
up during the week upstairs there, you get that heat coming right off the pavement.
And
you just feel it, like, comes up
in
waves.
That was the day I spent at Spectrum, right?
Which was nice with the air conditioning they're getting.
Hey, did you, did I tell you about that McDonald's?
Did I tell you, do we talk about that?
I was, like, shocked.
I went to McDonald's to get a nice tea, because I was hot, right?
They don't have any people there.
Yeah, you did tell
us that.
Oh,
man.
There was an ornita, right?
Yeah,
I just, I'm not
used to
that.
I didn't know that happened.
Customer service.
Welcome to the world, 2025.
You know what's funny?
I talked to somebody else about it, and they're like, yeah.
You know what's bizarre?
And I didn't have a credit card either.
Because I was, when I was a kid, and I'd see these movies.
Back in the kitchen, I'm like, hey!
I don't make credit
cards.
I thought the coolest thing in the world back then was to go to one.
What are those?
Was it called a luncheonette?
Yeah, like New York Yep, where you see all that you and get what you get stuff that way and it's and then that went away And it's almost like that's the way it's getting back to oh, yeah Where you don't have the personal contact of somebody giving that
to you or back in the day They'd have all of the vending machines you could get sandwiches coffee and all that kind of stuff yeah salads
I've always been a
back in the
60s remember was it?
The Jetsons are lost in space.
One of those where that's how they got all their food to
it.
It was
like, that was space age.
Then it went away.
Now it's going back to that with fewer people.
Is that because of the price or late?
You just can't get the labor labor is tough labor.
You wait, you're going to look in that kitchen and there's going to be machines making this stuff too.
Oh, I believe it.
I believe it.
I think they have that and Jim will still be back
there.
Hey, where's my catch?
I need catch up for my eggs.
Well, I.
does not compute
at least at
least they have um he taught if that wasn't assigned to walk away walk away walk
away got that on video
maybe it is at least yeah that could have been that that leaves them very very nice to me um but they should have always take both like a pick and save right you can put in
20s or you can give them a credit card.
I don't like that when you
know what there was just a story yesterday though What did you see that one of the stories at Walmart is really cutting back on that
and
what for some of the self-checkouts?
Oh, yeah, that's great.
Well, they're doing it because they're getting ripped off.
Yeah,
that's what I mean
Yeah, I mean people always find a way to
I don't you know, I think about that.
I've never done it, but I don't think it'd be that hard
I've
never thought about doing it, but
it's like sometimes
you wonder, ooh, did I scan that?
Am I gonna get busted when you get to the door?
There's
no chips in
the food.
Maybe there's chips in the packaging.
Well, inventory.
That's how they know, right?
I mean, their inventories are way off.
Yeah, I'm
trying to encourage somebody to not
pay for the
bananas.
But what I'm saying is, I don't think it would be that hard, because if there's somebody watching you, right, that's labor, but...
You know what I'm saying is that you almost get a checkout person who's going to be cheaper than a security guard.
But what I'm saying is a lot of times they catch you like in stores because of the- You're right, right, right, right.
But it- Well, like a
Monard's or something.
It'll beep as you're
going out.
Right, because they got chips, but they don't know chips and vegetables.
Food, that's a good point.
We
just, we got a ton of texts here, but we got another one that said, oh my god, did he just say that being a Walmart cashier isn't hard?
They're being challenged.
So which one of you said that?
Not me.
Not me.
Okay.
No, that they're getting rid of them.
I mean, they're bringing them back.
They're getting rid
of the self-checkouts.
Okay, somebody was just asking if one of you said- Oh, no, no,
no, no.
No, no, no.
No.
Because we'll put you behind a register.
No, I don't want that.
I would not do that.
I don't want that.
I would not do that.
I do not want that.
No.
Let's just go through a bunch of these here.
And they complain about this.
Hey, I can't find anyone on my phone.
This tornado one interests me.
Okay.
Because that person has a repeating dream of being chased by a tornado.
That is not...
An uncommon dream.
That has to mean something.
This is Sheila.
Since I was a kid, I've had
dreams where I'm getting chased by tornadoes and lightning.
I wonder if she's current with her taxes.
Oh, God.
I have the same dream.
I am current with my taxes.
Tornadoes are a big thing for me.
I
have a dream.
I have to sit with him for three hours.
I think that's a great new bed.
People tell us their
dreams.
Jim gives us what they want.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He analyzes them.
He's
afraid of the IRS catching her, so.
Oh, good news gracious.
Good news gracious.
All right.
I got this one.
I wake up and think that I didn't deliver my newspapers and people still owe me for my route.
And I was the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Carrier of the Year in 1993.
Brian.
Wow, I was a teacher for 35 years.
I have dreams of not finding my classroom and wandering the halls Terry Sheila again.
Oh, I could
comment on all
these, but okay
Sheila
you said something here that we would be thinking here Oh, I'm also afraid of alien abductions.
I must be a very nervous person.
Gee Sheila you think
Rock and Roll Heaven, God rest Bobby Sherman.
When I was like 13 in those formative years, every girl had Bobby Sherman.
Oh, yeah.
From the magazines, post it all.
He was the hunk for them.
Like he was that, yeah.
Then he was in the TV show, Seven Brides or Seven Brothers.
Right?
I don't know.
Yeah, I know these things.
There was a play.
Back after this.

So we're talking a little bit about the different oh wait at first of all we got to talk about ice cream today today is national ice cream cake day.
Ice cream cake day.
The best.
That's the best thing you can bring in to work for somebody's birthday or their living.
I agree.
Is ice cream cake day.
Yeah, but it melts.
That's a problem.
Not as fast as other stuff.
Yeah, it's
true.
You know what I mean?
I just, whoever came up with ice cream cake, they had it right.
Like I don't like cake, right?
I don't like angel food cake.
Come on, my mom didn't listen.
You don't like strawberry sundaes?
Don't, no.
Oh man.
Well that's,
I could, I don't like cake.
My mom never made birthday cake.
Ice cream cake though.
That's the bomb.
I like that
Todd a lot of cake my favorite cookouts my every Sunday was a big meal for us That's a that's kind of a small town thing.
I think that those that's Sunday dinner You know when you get a big film that was when your brothers were married would come over with their whatever and my dad would always cook a big meal huge meal the greatest one in the world was Just chicken on the grill really, you know well seasoned kind of whatever whatever and a strawberry
with real strawberries and whipped cream.
Good whipped
cream.
Frozen stuff.
That is like, I was on death row and I could have that meal.
That's one thing I think about all the time.
What would I have?
I know.
You could put
three, four meals on
death row for you.
You got to
fight the menu.
But that would be my thing.
And they're cutting back on that.
That barbecue chicken and strawberries, with real strawberries that are picked from like a local farm, you know, like the day before, there's such a difference in taste
with those.
You
don't want frozen ones.
Now's the time to pick strawberries, you know?
Is it already?
Really?
Wow.
Oh wow.
Wow.
Because we get that stuff delivered.
I
thought everything was really late so far this
year.
No, strawberries are right now.
I don't have any of my plans, but maybe I'm just behind.
Yeah.
You
get strawberry plants?
A few.
So you eat fresh strawberries.
You could take a strawberry off
the butt.
That
is like candy, I think.
Yeah, it is.
Then they're good.
That is so good.
But they're hard to grow, aren't they?
I didn't have a lot of problem.
This is my first year that I had a couple of plants.
Okay.
Remember it's raspberry.
There's
raspberries are tough because you got to get them going.
Yeah.
For quite a while like where you get anything.
No, they had it.
It was in the last week in papers.
It was a strawberry picking at, you know, a couple of places.
But, um, you know, you can remember that guy that we talked to, he was, they give you that box every week.
Yeah.
Of what's current.
Yeah.
So, you know, we get that.
And yeah, there was a bunch of strawberries in there this week.
Okay.
Uh, it's pineapple day.
Big fan.
Yeah.
Big fan of the pineapple.
Little work, little work, though.
Little work.
You know, you got to, uh, cutting all that stuff on.
Not as much work.
Okay.
I'm sorry.
I don't mean to sound whatever.
I don't mind.
Let's cut my pineapple.
Who's going to cut back?
You know, it's hard.
You
know, it's more, you know, it's a lot of
work.
It's a lot.
That's more work that it looks like.
You know, it's a lot of work.
Because you got to cut all those little things off and you can get it the first time.
So.
Because I was actually thinking, when I was at festival yesterday, it's like, oh, I wonder if I should buy a container of these things.
but they were like $8.50 and it's cut a piece of cantaloupe.
I love cantaloupe, but that's a pain trying to cut cantaloupe and get the skin off and whatever.
It's a lot easier in pineapple.
Yeah.
Well, I know, but I'm just saying it's like, they need to make, they used to, I remember, you know, my mom was handicapped, okay, for almost all my life.
So we were always trying to find her gadgets.
Like a potato peeler from
pineapple.
Exactly for fruit type things like that.
You just stick it on almost like a nail spike and you just put the thing So
they've got him in the grocery business, right?
You put it on the stand you go boom and it's it's completely cord and it's yeah, that's what they do at grocery stores But that thing stands, you know like oh four feet tall
industrial.
Yep.
Yep.
Okay, but they need to make boy That's where I could make some money designing something like that, but put my Masabi education good use
Yeah, but once you agree, so I was sometimes I don't buy fruit just because it's such a pain to prepare my am I lazy am I?
Yeah, the best though is tangerines for me man.
I love
so easy.
It's
so
easy.
I can eat 10 tangerines Exactly.
We only got them on that's you know what
those tangerines are awesome There's that is so easy and you can I can take it all off with just one the whole thing It still looks like a tangerine I could
put it back in
there and somebody thinks it's a tangerine
Did you get about that cuz you know that the one of the things that
Did you get what I just said?
I can peel that thing.
Like a lot of people can't do that.
I
do
it, they're all one.
You put it back in and people are like, wow, look at all the tangerines on the shelf.
Okay, that's like my dad was always so proud because he would peel an apple in one thing and it wouldn't break.
And it
wouldn't break with his little pocket
knife.
With his little pocket knife.
I
have to do that too.
My dad had a pocket knife, a comb.
fingernail clippers and the coin
and the coin
coin case a little rubbery coin case and money in his wallet I'm a hundred years old I've been working since 1947 it seems like right I don't have a dime in my wallet I got a credit card but you'd open up his wallet and there would be there'd be a 20 there'd be a couple of 10s there'd be a five and three ones and then you have a coin purse with whatever Denomination you needed they were well-prepared.
Yeah a little notebook
Yeah.
Today
is also bingo day.
I still say I'd be the best bingo caller anybody's ever heard.
Well, you must have called bingo
a million times.
I have, but I could, I should go back into that business.
Calling bingo at those nursing homes.
And then
sometimes it was pajama day.
So I had to form my pajamas and go and call bingo.
Did you do that?
Say that again.
Sometimes they, it was, they would play bingo and it would be like pajama day.
So you go and call bingo and you
do
that.
Sounds
a little weird.
Do anything for a vote.
So yes.
It's also sunglasses day and food truck day.
Fan of the food trucks.
Oh man.
Big fan of the food trucks.
Give your guy a plug.
Yep.
Area 509 today starting at five o'clock.
They've got Food Truck Friday, so they'll be out there, but there'll be other food trucks at the location too in Appleton.
Awesome.
And live music all at once.
The mother son duo that we had on a couple of weeks ago.
We'll be performing this evening.
Oh, they're
awesome.
Yeah.
So that'll be a lot of
fun.
You are going to like that, people.
Terry just texted that in.
That is an apple, a pineapple.
core and slicer tool that you can buy for seven bucks on Amazon.
But looking at it, it almost looks like it wastes a lot of the pineapple.
If you look at, yeah,
it does, huh?
But it's seven bucks.
I'm going to get one.
I'm going to get one because pineapple is really good for you.
Do you have an Amazon account?
I do.
There you go, Jim.
You explained that to me.
The dual.
Oh.
Uh, we got this one, uh, Khloe Kardashian, 41, Toby McGuire, 50, Lori Morgan, 66.
Did she perform in Green Bay?
I think she's been up here.
But I thought she had to cancel because her husband was really sick
or something.
Oh yeah, he
did pass away, right?
Oh, he did pass
away.
Yeah.
Her boyfriend, you know, used to be Troy Aikman.
Really?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Julia Duffy.
I loved her.
I loved that show.
New Heart?
New Heart Show.
Oh yeah.
The second one.
Oh, yeah.
The
second one where they ran the lodge.
And what's
your name?
Had the and I was one of the tight sweaters.
Yeah.
Joanna.
Yeah.
Um, that was a great show.
Oh, man.
Pretty quick.
He doesn't mess around.
No,
he doesn't mess around.
Remember how that show ended?
Yeah.
That I'm sorry.
There's no better last.
Never, ever.
Everybody tries hard.
Seinfeld was terrible.
Oh my gosh.
It was bad.
And that one was just because he's so dry.
He pulled that off.
Nobody else could have pulled off that line like Bob Newhart.
Well, but also the original wife, Suzanne Pushette.
She pulled that off too, right?
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
No question about it.
You should think about wearing more tight sweaters.
That was so good.
Yeah.
That was so good.
As we mentioned, Rocky's at the Brewers tonight.
635 on WISS.
Other texts we have are talking about what kind of dreams do you still have?
And it's like, what?
Brian says, I have a dream that I'm helping Terry find his classroom.
Two teachers.
Yeah, that's good.
My recurring dream is being chased and I can't run fast enough so I'm crawling on the ground.
pulling the grass trying to go faster.
So that is another interesting dream.
This whole running thing, can you run in your dream?
No.
Right.
So this guy pulling grass, he's scared and he, something's chasing him.
I still think it's
the IRS.
Why can't you run in your dream?
I still think it's the
IRS.
But
you, you want to open up here and tell us about what you got going on.
No,
I'm current.
I'm, I'm just
talking about friends.
No,
something is, yeah, there's something there.
But that running is weird, isn't it?
Yeah.
But how about the dream?
I'm surprised no one has done the falling.
Oh,
yeah, yeah, yeah.
That crash in
an airplane,
I
really think that's how I'm going to go.
It is so real, like that feeling.
And I don't know, it must be from Carnies
or something.
You feel like you're dropping.
Because I've done that on rides, and I love rides.
But that feeling is so real.
And you wake up, it's like, I can't believe I'm alive.
It is so great to wake up, but I'm sure somebody hasn't texted in that falling dream because I think that's pretty common I don't know what the cause of that
yet another one I have dreams that I'm on the first tee box of a really busy golf course and can't get my ball to stay on the tee and Everybody is shouting at me to hurry up no matter what I do the ball keeps falling off the tee Dave Okay, I'm gonna tell you one.
That's bizarre and it's weird that we're even talking about this I just have a dream in fact I still do that I show up for a game and I forgot my uniform
I open up my thing and I don't have my uniform, okay?
Hmm, so I would okay.
I had okay.
This is bizarre This is gonna be a weird thing here.
All right.
This is true story.
I can I'll prove it to I'll show you I used to have that dream all the time.
It happened to me one time Okay, I forgot my shoes.
I didn't have my shoes for the game
That's that happened in real
life.
It happened in real life Okay, I had to borrow a kid on the JV teams shoes
Which were a different color than everybody else had a guy's been posting a great great friend of mine He was a photographer for the school in the you know the yearbook and he posts a whole bunch of old pictures There's one picture in there of me.
I'm wearing those other
color.
Oh my gosh
That one time the one time and that's the one picture How bizarre is that and that's one of the big scary dreams I have is forgetting my uniforms
You know what?
I think that has something to do with the IRS.
I don't think you ever filed your taxes
with
that
train.
At least we filed them and we just, they may not, I don't know that you were ready to play.
You know what I mean?
Oh my, his antelope, really?
I'm gonna find some music.
Okay, we'll do a little bit of that this morning.
And now, Jim analyzes your dreams.
I can't think
about
that.
I did
go see a shrink though, you guys.
I did this 35 years ago, but I just want to say I did.
We just got this.
Maybe you can see the picture there.
They're log rolling.
Oh, yeah.
And we just got a text in that said, Jim and John can be guest rollers at this event.
It is coming up.
The 17th annual 3D Rivers Rolio log rolling tournament, July 12.
Duck Creek, Corey Beach in the village of Howard.
How deep is the
water?
It's not very deep.
Okay.
Look at that.
All right.
I would do that.
You want me to look at it?
What is it?
It is July 17th.
I'm sorry.
It's actually July 12th.
I know.
I just still, they told me to stay out of the sun because of my face.
Oh, seriously.
They said like at least 60 days.
Yeah.
Otherwise I do it.
We could patch that up.
I'd be good.
We could patch that up.
Could you?
Sure.
Some
super glue glue something
over
it.
No, we could do the family opera thing.
Here we go with that.
Look
away, I'm hideous.
She gave me water.
So we got Mark Houston coming up, right?
Implified by Bell and Health Sports Medicine.
T.J.
Bowles and Jose Valentine.
No,
it's
Josie.
Josie.
Yeah.
T.J.
Bowles and Josie.
A female wrestler this morning.
I
like it.
That was, all my mom's sister's called her Josie.
I like that.
She was Josephine.
HWE wrestling, those people are great, man.
Katie Compton, Malva Center for the Arts, big things coming up.
And the exclusive, exclusive innate with Daddy D Productions, our live music series.
That's
gonna be good, I
saw some
things about him.
Great lineup, this is great.
It's Friday!
You've been with us this long, stay with us.
Thursday, I don't care about you, it's Friday
One, two, three, four, one, two.
Let
me tell you how it will be.
Hey, welcome back.
We're live on The Mirror here at 97.9 FM, WGBW 98.3, 96.5 FM, WISS, of course, the Civic Media app.
Got another Texer.
I ran a big paper machine and when they would jam up you'd shut it down I have dreams of not being able to stop the machine Chuck I'm always that one for us
This is what I'm gonna do.
I you can you I think you can buy a dream analysis like
AI type thing these days probably,
huh, right?
I'm gonna do that then I Would guess on that but I want to do that because I don't hurt his feelings.
So okay.
This is yeah, okay
Alright, but you've got a- a bead on it.
You think you know
what?
This is- is that-
And now, ladies and gentlemen, dream analysis with Kim Schmidt.
I was gonna make a joke, I'm not going to.
Okay.
Dear Jim, I ran a big paper machine, and when they would jam up, you'd shut it out.
I have dreams of not being able to stop the bleepin' machine.
Chuck.
Chuck?
Did you jam the machine?
I don't know.
Are you not happy at work?
I don't know.
Can you cause the machine to jam?
Are you seeking attention?
Maybe.
You want attention, and then you're going to unjam the machine and be the hero?
I didn't think of that.
Do you want your pants?
Have you paid your IRS, Texas?
Yeah.
Did you guys even notice I played Taxman from the Beatles?
Come on.
Yes, I'm
standing.
Chuck.
I hope that one helps
you out.
Chuck, this is my thing,
so.
All right.
You got another one here.
I have this dream that I'm going into a local radio show with a couple of Nimrods who try to tell me, when I try to give them medical advice, they tell me I'm wrong and I should do it.
Mark
Hewson.
Thank God.
I wonder what that means.
I got these two guys who try to give me health advice.
Yeah.
Hey, I want to talk to, so amplify, Bellin, I mean they.
They got it going on on so many levels that new children's hospital on Ashland.
Yeah, you see that's coming together
man.
Yeah,
I just drove by that the other
day Yes,
yeah because I go to Western and I'm going again Todd.
I am okay when I believe you but when did this start?
Mm-hmm.
What that that's
That's
what we're talking about.
But I'm
just, I'm going again.
And the
reason I know that.
Mark here, I think we need to, this is a public service.
We
lost one of our better employees to Amplify, who was the nutritionist who's been on our show.
He went over to Amplify because he is going to work with the youth on nutrition.
And he is, was a great
employee.
I'm
just asking this, of all your several endeavors to, let's say, reduce yourself.
Which has been the most successful and least successful.
Oh God, at least, John, I've been trying to, I don't know.
I have to think about that at least.
I mean, I was in Weight
Watchers.
I was in every, just those gummies.
Just you name it, man.
I've been on all that stuff.
Well, I would have thought that gummies would have put on weight for you.
No, no, the diet.
Oh, the other gummies.
Never
mind.
Yeah.
the fasting, where you do the hours thing, you know?
But I didn't need that much sleep.
Just, then they, where you just eat protein,
you know?
Yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah.
Been on it.
Sure.
Then the keto.
Yeah.
That keto actually worked for a while.
Keto will work.
It did.
And if you cheat the littlest bit, it's like your body is just waiting to like explode again.
And once you get off
it,
It's hard to get back on it, I thought.
Chuck says, I may or may not have been sleeping next to the machine and not to watch it very closely.
Okay, we're on to something.
Why
don't you come back?
I don't know.
Those are Atkins,
you
were thinking of before.
Atkins.
And then he died from his head.
He did.
I do, but I don't
know if there's a correlation.
Another new show.
Something you didn't know.
How did celebrities
die?
Well, that would
be an interesting, and they all do.
I agree.
Let's see.
What other diet?
Because I see that, and I'm like, hey, that makes sense to me.
I've been on a lot of diets.
And yeah, anyway, the wasmpic.
Yeah.
What else anyway, so physical trainer personal trainer.
Oh my god.
That has done anything for you has it or has no trainer.
Yeah
So a couple things first of all a Diet any diet that works you have to write down what you eat and I'm not good at that so
That's anything that hasn't worked.
It's been my own fault.
I believe the
question was
Let's go back to the original question mr. Politician.
Yeah, um has did did working out.
Did your routine help you lose weight?
I Lost the most weight working out when I trained for the marathon, okay?
Okay, cuz there's a but I put it back on when I stop
But when my daughter and I, she ran the marathon, I will say I only ran the half.
Was that when you had the really short shorts on?
I'd lose a bunch of weight before I wore those on public too.
I
gotta see if I still have that in the system.
That was the bell.
I think that should be our whole Facebook page.
That, no, that was the bell.
And
I ran the bell in, I don't know, six years in a row probably, because
I lived
in Roosevelt, which ran right by my house.
I could just walk through the park where it started.
Running
I
think you can
lose
weight running.
Oh, you can no question But you know what my problem was with running.
Well, it was like, okay, so I was didn't hurt I used to run like like six miles some days.
That's perfect.
Yeah, I was yeah, three eleven three It was a straight flat type thing, right?
But then I would think I ran six miles I can eat as much as I want
But did you but did you see like you can say that but you're really gonna eat?
Two big Macs after you run six miles.
I did I'm serious wasn't but that's I didn't realize how few calories you really burn I know I just wasn't When I ran I did crossfit when I did cross just for like two months I think it was that serious I lost 11 pounds just from doing that that's so that one was whatever that does
I think exercise
does more than exercise.
It puts your mind in a state
like, well, I don't want that junk food.
It's good for your heart, right?
Your core muscles, all that.
I mean, it's good.
I'm just, I was wondering about the weight thing.
Yeah.
So the running did the best for me, but yeah, I agree.
Um, and the shot
and the gummies
and the personal trainer
and in fedamins.
Coming to Northeast Wisconsin live from the Civic Media Studios, this is Mino and the Mayor.

Once again, the keyword is PARK!
texted before nine o'clock this morning for your chance to win.
That's a poor pack of tickets for this Sunday's game taken on the Rockies at Amfam Field.
Another chance to play later on this morning after nine o'clock with Matt Nair on air, but play now.
The word is park with Mino and the mayor.
Thank you very much.
Welcome back.
Our special guest right now, Mark Houston, amplified by Bell and Health Sports Medicine.
How you doing, Mark?
Great.
How are you guys?
Good.
We're good.
Good.
Happy to your anniversary to
all you guys.
Thank you.
Thanks for being a big part of it.
You
know, when I pulled up,
I saw these parking stalls.
I thought Jim called
the city again.
Right.
With the yellow bag shut down the city.
Where we begged the meters in celebration.
Nobody
came.
I thought he was closing down the street.
So I was like, you know, I was a little worried.
I'm like, I'll
park down the street.
That was, in our two year span, that was the most accomplishment, the biggest accomplishment that he had.
What did you say, Todd?
You wait.
I'm working on the third.
You wait.
You wait.
We didn't have the ping
pong balls.
We didn't have
the whatever.
That's all common.
But by God, those guys pulled up with
saw horses to shut
down the street at 6.30 in the morning.
You wait.
So Mark.
Amplify, which is a great name.
Thank you.
And I think it's catching on, right?
I mean, you got it on your...
You guys are doing a well, very good job at saying it too.
I mean, it's, I think it's new for us.
Right.
28 years, I've said, Bellin Health, Bellin Health, Sports Medicine.
Now it's a new name for us.
So it does take a little bit, but thank you for it.
There's some meaning to it.
Right.
Empathy, right?
Yep.
And...
It's larger.
You even on your signs.
That's that's become the by Bellin is smaller.
Yeah, it's
it's a endorser
that will ever go away because you know what Bellin adds a tremendous bit of professionalism and what you guys have done in credibility and serving the community want to get rid of that
hundred plus years.
So that's what it it helps, you know, but
in today's market.
I mean, a lot of people have said, I can't believe we did that.
We have had employees say that.
I do understand it.
It comes down to the market has changed.
The market has changed, not in Northeast Wisconsin.
It's across the country.
There are larger entities.
Like
unprecedented, right,
Mark?
I mean, there are thousands of places that just have been bought up by a larger agency.
Ours is a merger where it's two
healthcare groups that go together.
There's probably pros and cons to both, but we do feel like it's the best thing that we could have done for today's world and long-term sustainability.
It's going to take time, but you wait, Sean.
You'll be talking to your grandkids someday, and they'll just say, yeah, where do you get your healthcare amplified?
They used to be called Bellen.
What?
I never heard of that.
Well, there's still a Bellen building right down the block here.
Yeah, that is true.
That's true,
there's some.
Real quick.
I think it was yesterday you guys talked about tallest Bill and you thought it was our hospital
Yeah, I
did.
I you know what I think it is.
I I think I heard it was north about northern hotel.
Oh, oh We are
eight.
I know I know we are eight floor floors.
I think the confusing thing is it's a matter of Because some people I heard this
before
aid gray hill.
I believe is the tallest I would bet point
In
Brown
County,
and that's what
gets confusing that quick, but I think when I heard buildings I did hear us I heard saying Vincent's and Then someone said no the hotel is the tallest in Brown County.
That's
a good point Yeah, I could like count how many floors each one is
but Lambeau fields tall the stadium because I held off I will say this last night and I
was in Allaway right by the prison
Okay, to take the thing and boy when that you talk about something majestic I mean here it is five miles away or whatever, but it just stands out in a cool way.
It's not like this whatever That's pretty cool.
Well, I and I'll tell you this I had I was blessed.
I lived just south of the prison for many years During the fall when the lease would fall I could get on my roof It was and it was just a basic cat home But I can get on my roof and I can look down towards Lambo and I was enough
path of the flyovers.
So
they'd stay on the other side of the river, but I could see it coming.
But that bellen building, like I said, remember the repel thing off the top of the building?
I did that.
That's high.
I wonder if that
was... You were repelled off of bellen?
I thought you did lamble.
Oh,
lamble.
I was just going to say, I think lamble might be taller than bellen.
I just know that the trick question in the county is, what building has the most floors?
That's the Green Bay sewage district because it goes down That's an arrest
trick question
but
it's true.
I mean they're underneath Anyway, that I'm gonna look into that because that's an interesting question
if somebody is here is from Chicago or someplace
like
You're arguing if the
eight-story building is the biggest.
John Hancock, Sears.
We've got gas stations that are 8.5.
I know, I
know.
But yeah, thank you for bringing up the name.
I mean, it's great.
It's great just to rhyme people.
We are still around.
We will still be around, I hope, for another
100 years.
And I just love how you continue to grow.
I mean, it was hard, hard, hard.
This children's, I guess it's adolescent, you know, called the Children's Hospital.
Adolescent clinic.
Okay.
And this is
revolutionary.
We need that.
Two daughters and three granddaughters.
This sounds like something I would have taken advantage of.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I think and I think there's no more Milwaukee, Madison.
No.
And that's what it did is, you know, if you need it, we can get you to those places.
Oh,
yeah.
But it's one of those things of, again, it's one thing if you live in Green Bay, what happened if you live in the UP?
Now, do you want to be going all the way down to Milwaukee?
I know a lot of people that have to explain the whole thing for we're getting our head of ourselves here
a little bit.
I thought it was open.
It doesn't open to
August.
August, yeah.
It looks like we're open.
I mean,
it looks like it's pretty much done.
They've come a long way.
So it's called the adolescent clinic.
I want to do a disservice to Jamie, Mary Lou, and a lot of the gales who are part of this whole process.
And we'll get them on.
Yeah, we'll get them on.
But we're going to have services there.
for your younger population and needs where you used to have to go to Madison, Milwaukee to get them because they didn't have the specialty physicians or they didn't have the tools or the machines to do it.
I think the big thing is sensory.
How do you help out some kids who don't wanna go in and get a lab or need a little extra time?
maybe they have a special x-ray that needs to be done.
I was describing it off here of we used to have to do these x-rays and literally stitched three or four different x-rays together to get a full body, even with these young kids.
Now it can all be in one shot.
So it's correct.
This is going to be big time for the area partnership with Children's Wisconsin, ThetaCare, Bell and Health.
It's called Connected for Kids, but it's going to be our clinic and then services provided in there.
From the year I came to Green Bay in 1984 to now is like the dark ages to the modern age, isn't it?
Yeah.
I mean, we had like St.
Mary's and St.
Vincent's and, you know, but it wasn't...
It was just one of those things you go to the doctors.
Now, this is an industry in this
area.
And I think just shortening up and bringing people to the valley, bringing people to Green Bay, again, when your kid is sick, it's tough enough on a parent that you have to think, man, I got to drive down for all these appointments and rechecks and the surgery and it can all be done right here.
And some of it's less time off work, less miles you're having to drive.
you don't have
to take three.
Less stressful miles.
Yeah, you don't take three kids out of school.
Is there anything more stressful than bringing your kid to a specialist in cinema walking?
Think about it, if you
got one kid, but now I got two other kids and we're not gonna be back until seven o'clock.
So who's taking care of those kids after school?
The stress.
So
we're hoping to provide so many other resources right here in our community.
And the other thing I'm grateful for is, you know, it's just the economic impact of being a regional healthcare facility.
I mean you guys make pretty good money and rightfully so and to have that with Aurora and then to have a couple of you guys being you know the helicopters and I mean this is this is regionally talked about coming down from the UP and Kiwani and everywhere else.
I mean this is the place to come and the And we're very blessed to have paper right and and food service and cheese and and packaging right but boy to have health care is such a draw be a hub to be a hub
Sit to draw it for talent for young talent and to come in here and the internships like you right weren't you in turn at one time and you know, I just We're
local town that doesn't need to
right move somewhere.
We're lucky to have that here And so this is and we'll take nothing for granted because some places have lost their health care Well, you know and I'm gonna jump western part of the state.
Yeah, it's true And I want to jump back like when we you guys had Mary Lou in here, right was that last week?
two weeks ago last week and it was I think the big thing with that that we're trying to do is also when these young kids come up Keep them here or keep
that interest.
That's what I mean So it's like hey you can
leave and go to school But when you want to come back we have opportunities right here right here in your hometown Again, it may also be up north.
We have clinics up north We want some people to live up there and provide that care
Well another cool thing is like when I was in real estate and Jim found this too I remember these people from I forget Pennsylvania or someplace and it was I think it was an ER doctor and you had to live a certain and he could not believe that he could have a place in the country out in the country and still be able to be inside of that window I mean they bought this beautiful house but they he just he goes is this legit yeah I mean that's that's a perk for the medical people that's huge I think
yeah I think a lot of people just have to get up here
and say, man, this is, it's a great committee,
you know?
The money goes pretty far here too.
And you guys, like I said, I know a little bit about healthcare, because I got a daughter.
And you pay pretty well.
So yeah, this is a great place.
And I think that eventually, but our job, if they grew up here is a good thing, but if they haven't, we got to expose them to it.
And I think that's where the Packers come in and the draft came in.
And I think we got to get people to come here and say, wow, hey, this, I might.
But even basic
things at restaurants, you know, what's available downtown and downtown Green Bay.
But it's also in these other outlying communities
as well.
There are
so many opportunities that, you know, it's not like I have to live in this area.
There's, you have
a
lot
of
choices.
You have a lot of great school districts.
You have a lot of great grocery stores.
You have like, you know, events you can go to on the weekends.
And we can't, and look, if it doesn't meet your, you are your spouses standards all the time.
I mean Milwaukee in Chicago was not that far.
Correct.
I mean, if you leave at noon, you know, you're there by 3, 330.
But
again, then we go back to what Jim started with was, now if you have a sick kid and you have to drive to Madison, Milwaukee, twice a week, you know, that's two hours down, two hours back, waiting for appointments, you got other labs.
That's a long day.
And now you're doing that.
And no one wants anyone who's sick.
No one wants to be sick.
But when it's there,
We're a local, it's
great.
Well, the thing is too, if somebody does come in, we had the lady on, she was super great to have on.
They're going to be renting out their place, their facility on Mason Street, just kind of across from channel five.
And it's when people come into town for treatments.
Oh, the McDonald's house.
The McDonald's type house.
Yeah.
You know, they've got those facilities here now too that are
right for
people because I'll be honest with people from the U.P.
Green Bay is there.
If there's anything serious, it's Green Bay.
Yep.
Well, yep.
That's great.
I mean, I'm glad that's going on.
I'm sure you're gonna hire some people too at that new place.
Correct.
Oh, yeah, and a lot of them have been hired already.
Okay.
Yeah, I believe it's Man, would you
just don't call me hiring me or
no?
No, no, there's
a competition Michael wants to hire me for There's
things I could
do I could be a greeter.
Yeah maintenance is taking care of I play
with the kids out in
the sensory
Implified by Bellin Health Sports Medicine in the house.
Back with more right after this.
Hey, welcome back.
I know the mayor here in a Friday morning on WGBW and W ISS, of course, the Civic Media app.
Great lineup starting off today in the leadoff spark spot.
Mark Houston, amplified by Bell and Health Sports Medicine.
We got TJ bulls and Josie Valentine, HWE wrestling.
They are always fun.
She's here already.
Oh, oh, I think maybe we could do a little trial action this morning.
So you hit, you know, if you guys are really on point.
Physically.
What does that mean?
Well, she's a wrestler.
Yeah.
Oh, man, if I didn't have my good clothes on.
And if I that shoulder, I didn't tell you guys.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You shouldn't be doing that.
No, thanks, John.
I've got my
camera all set.
Katie Compton, Malva Center for the Arts and Daddy D Productions, our live music series, exclusive and Nate.
But Mark Houston, you guys have a lot of stuff going on.
I mean, here you had the.
The run?
Yeah, bell and run.
Bell and run.
Very successful.
High school sports, football, high school sports coming up, which is huge.
You guys don't have a downtime anymore, do you?
I think my staff is probably, and it's not my staff.
It's really our entire team.
But it doesn't slow down.
High schools are just wrapping up as last week.
But now we've got summer practices.
This weekend, we're helping out.
Duck Creek Triathlon out in Duck Creek, Village of Howard.
YMCA is putting on a large triathlon, 275 triathletes.
So they'll be out in the Duck Creek, then they'll be biking and running.
Were they swimming in the quarry?
They're swimming in the quarry.
Oh, cool.
Was
it the full triathlon?
They're doing well.
It's a triathlon.
It's not like an Iron Man.
OK, all
right.
We got a guy coming out next week.
Todd,
is it 18 hours his event?
Oh,
I think
it's
24 hours.
24
hours in Hawaii, right?
Yeah.
No, I'm Washington
Island.
Oh, Washington Island.
That's
right.
That's right.
That's right.
They would love
you.
They would love to hear you say Hawaii.
Yeah, instead of Washington Island.
I screwed up.
Yeah, I knew it was going to...
It's Wisconsin's
Hawaii.
I said island.
It is.
That's just like Hawaii, John.
We got Washington Island, Hawaii.
Yeah, same thing.
That's what I said.
Actually,
he's applying for
their marketing
department.
I think I would take Washington Island over Hawaii.
Yeah, we were last when we were up in Dirk County.
We didn't go to the Washington Island.
We did a trip up to Gills Rock and had to get some smoked salmon for my wife.
And that's the anniversary trip every year.
Nothing wrong with that.
Yeah, no.
I mean, we appreciate the community's support and just being out there.
But there are so many events that are going on.
you know, from baseball games.
How do you
guys pick,
Mark?
How do you choose?
That's a challenge.
I think we have to, I mean, everyone, we love to provide the care, but unfortunately it comes down to, we have to look of saying, you know, how much staff do we have?
Or
what are they around?
Like, we want to give them a break too.
That is one of our challenges.
So, yeah, I've been looked at a few times like, why did you just pick that up?
So, yeah, I have to go back to, I have a calendar that goes out two years.
Oh yeah, on Friday night sometimes you'll text me from different places where you are and everything.
So with the, and that's so great, how community minded you are, how is the business?
Is there enough business for, because you're all growing.
I mean, I see new clinics popping up, expansions with, I guess I'll call me your competitors, but
it's
something that industry, is it, you all making
money?
No, I think it's the the reimbursement rates gotten a lot less.
Well, they but it's you make money I think what it is is it's being creative and innovative and I think that's something that I've been very proud of working with at Bell and health and now amplify health is They allowed us to be creative and innovative because you're just gonna be stagnant.
You're gonna do the same product Yeah, it's just gonna get old.
You know, that's not it's gonna be a challenge
Can I just say one thing that I think is one of the
greatest compliments I guess you guys could get is the fact that so many young athletes, high school athletes had to go through you guys because of an injury or something and then thought it was such a fantastic experience go into that field.
We don't want to see injuries but unfortunately a lot of people say hey I injured my ACL or I tore my shoulder up and I became a physical therapist or I became a nurse or I became an orthopedic surgeon and again we've had the college on
It's the opportunities that we provide just to start.
And we have kids starting middle school, freshmen year, understanding, hey, what's it like to be a surgical tech?
What's it like to be a nurse anesthetist?
You know, giving them the opportunity.
We also want them to understand of, hey, you may have to draw blood in that you're a phlebotomist.
Well, I don't want to touch blood.
Well, guess what?
Then you probably don't want to be a phlebotomist.
You know what I mean?
So it's learn now.
Instead of spending, I mean, I think I've always felt like it's very sad where someone says, I took four years to become a nurse and I don't like it.
It's like, man, I wish we would have known that in year one or two.
Get the real life experience early, huh?
Yeah.
And akin to that is, I think sometimes because people grow up in a lane, they're not exposed to enough.
And Dr. Huntsger says that from medical college, but even this thing out at the college, no, the engineering.
I mean, some
kids, you know,
They're taking stuff apart and their parents yell at him.
It's like, wait, this kid,
he's got some
engineering qualities that he likes to see how things are taken apart and he puts it back together.
So to expose somebody to engineering, and I don't know that that was big in my house.
I mean, that just wasn't a thing.
And I just think it's great that they're...
learn a little bit more about medicine, medical things, and engineering, and everything else.
Mark, we're really being interrupted by somebody here.
So if you can just buy by us for a minute there.
Hello, snarky Brian.
Hi, John.
Hi.
Hi, John.
Hi, Jim.
I was up in the U.P.
yesterday and I brought you something back.
I just want to appreciate it.
It's a brown bag from the U.P., so.
What
you
just said?
It's
shaped like a bottle.
Marijuana.
Pasties!
Pasties, there you go.
Thank you guys for your time.
You weren't asking about it, but then...
No, I stopped by my way up to market.
And then these are really good.
You're a little porcupine.
I didn't know you were going to be here.
Markets of Friday, you know, Brian is bringing like
every gift in for John.
He's set
for the
next month.
This is so awesome.
I figured chocolate and pastries is great when you go to that area, though, right?
When I retire, that would you really wrap up
there?
Yeah, they have a lot.
They have a lot of
openings.
Yeah.
I mean, they I mean, they've had to
JV seasons
and
everything up there.
But the whole football thing, you know what?
There's more eight man in the
U.P.
now than 11 man.
Eight man is fun to do.
It's so quick.
It's almost like it's almost like the NFL flag stuff that it's just so fast.
It's fun to do.
So awesome.
I don't want to interrupt, but well.
All right.
So there you go.
So thank you.
And thanks for listening.
Thank you.
Really, really.
Three fifty seven minutes.
Don't microwave them.
They're already.
They're already.
Yes.
Yeah.
Thanks, guys.
Thank you, buddy.
You're
the best.
Narky Brian.
He's awesome.
All right.
Mark Houston, it's always a pleasure
having you here, buddy.
We appreciate everything you guys do.
Come
back next week.
We got a lot more to talk
about.
We do.
I'm coming in Thursday.
You're the man.
Quick break.

Thank you very much.
Thank you to Snarky Brian for bringing us pasties from the Pope up in the UP.
and shakley's candy bars which are phenomenal and I'm gonna you know what I'm gonna give this to a person that that needs some energy I'm giving this to Josie
I'm giving it to Josie.
Josie's our special guest, Josie Valentine and TJ Bulls, HWE Wrestling Entertainment.
We enjoyed the night we spent with you guys so much.
And I mean, we went up and, you know, did our little introduction type thing, but just being backstage and meeting the people and then going out there and watching.
That is, I don't know what it even cost you.
That is one heck of a piece of entertainment for the price.
It really and truly is.
It was its first class with what you do.
And sold out by the way.
And
sold out by the way.
Oh yeah, the last two shows we've done were sold out.
Yeah.
Yeah, no, I always try to make sure we put on the absolute best production, the absolute best talent that we can.
backstage too.
Uh, we always bring in the best people, good people, good human beings.
And, uh, yeah, we take care of any, any guests.
And you guys were esteemed guests that night.
So we wanted to make sure we took care of you.
We even, uh, through that, uh, little, little interaction with you and Peter Schwanz, if you remember that thrill.
Oh yeah.
The legend
thrill.
And I, you, this is, this takes place at Badger state, broon, which is of course, um, right on Tony candio drive.
And, um,
That's a great place to hold this.
One is to see a parking.
I mean
parking is never an issue there, whereas some other places it can be.
And I would just, I don't want to sell anything on price because it's worth, you could raise your prices, but.
You own the company, so you can do what you want.
I mean, $15 or $20 for front row seat, that's...
Yep, $20 for front row.
As of right now for the show this Sunday, we only have nine of those left.
And then $15 at the door, but if you buy advanced online, it's $10.
And not just that though, but we have plenty of deals.
We try and hook people up with.
Every show, if you put a promo code in on the online site, you get 15% off.
Right now, it's Memento's 15, and you get 15% off.
That's front row or general admission.
And we also always do a package deal, which one of my good friends, Andrew Johnson from the Green Bay Rockers, he kind of gave me these ideas and stuff.
We do a package deal where you get four general admission tickets for 35 bucks.
So, you know, save some money with that.
So we're always trying to help people out, hook people up.
And I said, when we were there, I always like to look at the crowds, you know, I've been to some seminars on how to promote events, right?
to look at the crowds.
I was surprised and pleasantly surprised how many families were there.
I think that's like really cool.
I didn't know there was a good crowd.
Sometimes you think a restaurant is going to be like a lot of, you know, maybe, I don't know.
but it was really nice to see how many kids were there with their parents.
And I
think that's awesome.
And those kids are gonna grow up with this, so they're gonna be someday with their kids in 20 years.
Oh yeah, actually some of those kids, there's times where it really makes people like me who've been in the business for like a few years shy of 20 years now, makes us feel a little bit aged when we have people going, I was a kid.
And you're just now starting wrestling?
Okay, okay.
Can I interrupt?
Do you have any idea how many times we have somebody sitting exactly where you're sitting?
You know, they're president of the such and such, whatever.
And she'll they'll it's all normally a woman.
I listened to you when I was in the third grade on the school bus.
How many times do I get that?
I mean,
it's
incredible.
I feel like on one hand, it's a compliment.
And then on the other hand, it's like, is this a compliment?
Exactly.
Hey, introduce a very special guest.
Yes.
Yes.
So this is Josie Valentine from Chicago, the ice box.
She has an up and comer in the area.
She's been putting in a lot of grind, a lot of work.
She's been making her name known on the Indie Circuit.
She is becoming a regular at HWE, Hybrid Wrestling Entertainment.
And yeah, Josie.
Welcome,
Josie.
I got to tell
you something between you and these people we had on Young Women Your Age for a bodybuilding competition about a month ago.
And we're talking about aging.
I'm so old that cheerleading was a big thing for...
Young women
back then
you guys have just taken the sports world in every capacity and never look back.
Yeah, congratulations flowing it out of the water.
I'm really excited for like women Nowadays, it's just like finally hey if the boys can do it we can do it
absolutely that that saying of she fights like a girl that would be a
Let's talk a little bit about you getting into wrestling.
That's
just not
something that like when Johnny and I were your age, a lot of girls did or women would refer to you as.
What was, you said you played some softball, some basketball.
You liked, you liked sports when
you were in high school.
The small, uh, originally from Chicago grew up in a small town in Iowa as well.
So during high school and middle school, there wasn't really much to do.
So it was either stay at home, get fat lazy or go out and.
hit the basketball court with some friends and play softball basketball.
Iowa, though, as a state, has always been one of the real leaders in women's
sport.
I remember
years and years ago, I think it was the Kirk Gowdy show.
They showed the Iowa Girls Basketball Tournament where you couldn't go over half court and all those kind of things.
And it's like, Iowa has always been one of those states where it's like they foster women's sports, don't they?
And it's like, if you
want to be a
wrestler, you can be a
wrestler.
Yeah.
If you have anything...
On your mind you can go above and beyond with it.
So the organization was there and you joined it or how would you how did you get attracted to the wrestling
so Hey
friends Ethan Ronnie So he's saying hello to you
guys So basically I was actually born into professional wrestling I have an older brother believe it or not that is
14 years older than me.
And so he was majorly into Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, 90s, 80s wrestling.
So when the youngest was born, which is me, and nobody wanted to watch wrestling, he's like, hey, you have no choice.
So you're going to sit here and watch professional wrestling with me.
And then ever since then, I have been a major fan.
And
who's your like idol?
John Cena.
Oh, really?
Yeah, John Cena.
Wrestler that I've seen I remember like the iron fist for SmackDown and I saw him.
I was like that's my that's my guy That's my wrestler.
I want him.
I want that as my favorite wrestler.
That's awesome.
What was there?
It's gonna be you know the fabulous mula
No, unfortunately at the time women's wrestling wasn't really taken seriously, so I actually tape studied the men so John Cena Randy Orton Jeff Hardy see him punk all those guys I look up to all of them.
That's awesome.
Tell me about the
the women part of getting into that.
So
you didn't have an
idol that you looked at.
You kind of broke the ice on that?
Yeah, yeah.
So women's wrestling, unfortunately, wasn't really respected at the time back in corrective, if I'm wrong, a lot of bronze panties matches.
Yeah, a lot of kind of joke matches.
Right.
Nothing ever taken serious.
I think you're right.
And then Tristratus and Lita kind of took the bar and ran with it.
Oh, I love
Lita.
And then 2016, 2017.
And she was really cool.
When
we did the thing with Tammy Elliott for the Regis show, and
they
had us come to the show beforehand.
Oh,
you went to that?
And Triple H was the guy when Tammy was on.
But as Lita did a segment, we got to meet her backstage.
Oh, nice.
And she was doing a cooking segment and everything.
So cool.
It's so cool how they can take this persona and be so successful, but still be completely different out of the ring and
everything.
She was
so cool.
Yep, like a switch.
Yes.
I think it's just nine
years ago this caught on
as far as female wrestling goes like nowadays They called it the divas revolution that was like the time it really became a thing or female wrestling revolution really because like the term divas is like really outdated for women's wrestling
just because it's like
the memories of Like she said just silly joke matches or you get like right three minutes.
I remember that now they're coal main eventing
Major shows if not main like truly main eventing shows they're doing stuff They're working in cages and stuff like that like a hardcore matches that you never would have expected Women to do because they were considered fragile, but now they're tough.
They're tough as nails Oh, that's not even a question.
So
you guys spent a lot of time in the weight room too.
Oh, yeah, for sure For five days out of the week for me
and her in her name icebox.
Come on.
Yeah, it's a great
Yeah,
oh and so you've been how long been doing the
I don't know, is it called the professional circuit?
Or what do you?
Yeah.
Yeah, that counts.
Yeah.
My two year just came June 16th.
So I've been in the business for two years.
Where did you train
Minnesota?
Is that normally where people train or?
Not going to lie, I've kind of trained a handful of everywhere.
So a little bit back in Iowa and then kind of settled down in Chicago.
Okay.
So
do they still have schools?
Like who
was it?
Baron Von
Rashma or whatever?
The Owls used to run those schools.
Yeah, so it's very informal.
Okay.
If you remember Aaron Arsenault we had, he
was
trained in a barn.
Right?
No way.
Yeah.
I did not know that.
Yeah.
I did not know that.
Josie, she's received more formal training, and now I believe she trains essentially, I don't know.
So her trainer is a legend.
He is the ice pick Vic Capri from Chicago.
Okay.
One of the toughest, one of the, honestly, one of the most respected people in the business.
That's her trainer right now.
And where does he train?
Describe Vic's school?
It's really laid back, honestly.
He's very...
Understanding I didn't really have a lot of training underneath my belt, so he kind of took me aside under his wing and was like all right This is what we're gonna work with and did you
have any I was thinking this at the night of your thing Did you have any gymnastics training because not
no ballet actually?
My dad was like we're putting her in ballet my mom's like I don't think she'll like that in the future, but I mean
Jerry Rice the legendary wide receiver used to take ballet lessons That's a phenomenal sport for no matter what else you want to do
Yeah, I would agree with that.
Ballet, ice skating,
just all
that stuff can really work for you.
So I just want to get to your name, Icebox, because at Icepick was your trainer?
No,
no, no, no relation, no correlation about it.
All
right.
OK, I thought maybe
I was onto something there.
How did you pick Icebox?
Believe it or not, a very well known movie back from... Do these guys will know the movies?
Oh, OK.
So there was a movie called Little Giants.
What's
his name from Rick
Moranis?
Believe it or not born in the 90s, but still love 80s 90s movies for me since I have older siblings But basically the main character is she's a tough tomboy always hanging with the boys Some even if the boys are scared of her in the movie so growing up.
I was like well You know some boys are scared of me.
I never
had any boys chasing after me, like the cheerleaders and everything.
So I'm just one of the boys and we might as well pick up and go with this gimmick.
All those
movies back then, though, had the one tough girl.
Yep, the one tough girl.
Yeah,
like Bad News Bears.
Yeah.
And it was
What's Your Name when we became super famous, but they all had that one tough girl.
Yeah.
Tough Tom Boy, always skateboarding.
Exactly.
It's interesting because you say how that, you know, had all those older movies had that.
Yeah.
And look at what that, you know,
did for the generation of girls watching that girl enough.
They felt like they can do that and they didn't have to fit into a certain mold.
Absolutely.
Completely agree.
I don't remember that in sound of music, but
okay.
I would not want to mix two of the others in the dark alley.
The
tough women in the sound of music were the nuns.
That's right.
She did take the carburetor cap off.
That's just really cool that you're doing this.
And I'm sure there's
a lot
of there's a lot of young.
Girls looking up to you and you'll see that when you get to your show on
Yes, yes,
I'm gonna read a couple of texts or TJ and Ethan run a great show I continue to be impressed with hwe Entertainment and the entertainment they provide for all ages Jason got another texture.
I always loved to watch Sasha Banks Mercedes Monet.
She is so good Deanna
That's awesome Sasha Banks is part of the the Diva revolution women's wrestling revolution where they really changed the whole landscape Sasha Banks is Mercedes Monet is very awesome.
Do you guys want to see a picture?
Yeah,
sure.
Here we go.
This is a picture of me in high school football.
Oh football I was worried there was going to be a wrestling scene
The
guy
behind me who was about to cover him became a big-time pro wrestler I would say might have been haystack
somebody
he's
from Gwynn, Michigan.
Okay, that's the big guy number 74
He's twice my size.
Haystack's Calhoun?
Is that what is?
That's only
Haystack's I could think of and he was a legend.
I know
this guy died fairly young then, but he's from Gwynn, Michigan.
I gotta look up pro wrestlers from Gwynn, Michigan, but that's him.
But he was WWE.
He was Haystack's
Calhoun.
Yeah,
there you
go.
All
right,
Josie Valentine, we are gonna be talking to you a little
bit more about your show.
My mouth is
full
of Josie by the way.
Anybody ever call you Josie Wales to get those lines
all the time?
No.
No, it's probably not.
I'm not gonna do it here
because you take my...
Icebox.
Icebox is all good.
That's you bet it is.
the mayor
Todd is so good at finding the appropriate
music every guest that's right when I when he was playing ice ice baby I was I was commending him that was really
good that's what he does TJ bowls Josie Valentine
HWE wrestling entertainment round one summer series at Badger State.
Josie, you're fascinating, but when you get into the ring, what is your persona?
Who are you?
Because that was even the fun part being backstage with you guys.
We're eating sushi with these guys and whatever, whatever.
And then they're out on the ring being this other character.
Who are you like when you're in the ring?
I'm honestly still myself just amping it up to 110%.
When I first started, I was kind of.
Was somebody I wasn't I was wearing pink believe it or not, okay?
Special somebody was like hey you get rid of that pink and you go out there and you be that tomboy I know you are and I was like oh snap, okay?
I guess we can be ourselves in the ring So let's let's amp it up to 110% and let's go so
the natural you is that kind of
that?
Cool is this you on the poster?
No,
I
was hoping not
Yes, if this was her
I Todd well,
I
can't even say anything Okay, well, where's she on the poster?
She's unfortunately not on this poster because she is not officially on this show she actually so this is what I mean by the grind So she puts in so much grind and hard work right she's not even on the show officially this Sunday
But she said she's gonna like so this Sunday.
She's gonna come up hang out See if she can get a spot work hard
set up and all that stuff
Not even guaranteed and she was still she just wants to help the business She wants to help the industry so even though she's not even officially scheduled She was even still willing to come up here and do this radio show with you guys.
That's fun We appreciate that like you can't
believe you and you are welcome back absolutely any time you're great on the radio
And I think you're gonna make it It's like it's this kind of stuff.
We talked about we talked about these musicians.
They said, you know just
if there's an opening they're gonna play.
You know what I mean?
And that's
just, that's the way life is getting
started.
Believe it or not, I'm actually gonna be like in Iowa Saturday night and then I'd be lining a seven, eight hour drive for Green Bay.
People
don't know
that
great part of Green Bay.
No, no they don't.
It's
comedians, it's anybody.
I mean, it's not hard work, but those are the ones that make it too.
And you know that.
For sure.
That's awesome.
What's your favorite part about doing this?
I'm sure you've been asked that a million times, is it game night or...
You know game time so to speak or
what is it favorite part of doing this is actually meeting people Okay, like I never growing up.
I was like, okay.
Well, this is what we're gonna do.
We're gonna get into shape We're gonna go try to find a school and then we're gonna go I I didn't unfortunately know what the indies were at the time So I didn't know you had to grind and then wake your way up But I also didn't know you're gonna be meeting amazing people on the way there like I can't tell you how many times I've ran into somebody.
I'm like, oh my god, like Do you remember this time we did this and blah blah blah?
I just saw one of my friends, the wrestling business is crazy, because I saw somebody two years ago, and then I just recently saw him and I was just like, I haven't seen you in two years.
Where have you been?
I was like, oh, I'm doing my own thing.
I'm either on the West Coast or the East Coast Wrestling.
So it's just meeting people as you go.
That's so cool.
Probably my favorite part.
Can
I
ask you how old you are?
27 okay,
there's a kid that we have on here who is going to make it in boxing
Yes,
I mean he's he's like you though.
He will go anywhere anytime to the box.
I broke a bone in his hand right before the national Oh, but
he's good.
He's
But he just is crazy about and doesn't want to do anything else doesn't what what's your plan B?
No plan
B. No plan B. I
kind of sense that with
you too.
Yeah, my mom's very upset with that I was the athletic jock girl.
No school.
I wasn't really interested in school.
So
that's cool.
That's awesome.
It's gonna be fun to
watch you and
like Johnny
said you are welcome back here anytime.
We want
to see you do well and we sure love
of what they're doing
better state in
that
whole industry, because it's something that was big when John and I were kids with Crusher and people you don't know, but scrapper and Gordowski.
But this level that they're doing wasn't very cool.
It was kind of a, you know, I was living in Flint, Michigan and these organizations would come around, we're even up in the UP and it's like, they were nearly as professional as you guys
are.
Yeah.
Right, it was more show,
right?
You know, yeah.
Feel
like the
guys like overweight and they're you know, you know such an athlete
Yep, I feel it's just the way the the business has evolved to you know like right now We want to put on all the the spotlights and the show and the glamour and everything like that and they had it back in the day too But it was just in small little pockets and you guys are competing with
a lot more competition for entertainment
And it is and
Which I'm okay with that because I think competition does make people better.
Competition creates quality.
It does.
And I think we have that here in our community.
You know, you look at, just pick up the paper or look at the website today, what's going on in Green Bay tonight and tomorrow.
It's just, it's awesome.
And you're one of them.
It's just going to be great.
So a lot of choices and people go where they get their value and you're one of them.
So
you do have some tickets left or no?
Front row, we still have nine front.
And then we do still have general admission.
We are running a Sunday for the first time at 2.15, 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
I'm expecting it's going to be a pretty good walk up.
I actually posterized a lot of places.
So you have a regular poster there.
We also, from here on out, we're printing an alternate Spanish poster.
And I've been going out.
I've been hitting as many Spanish markets, grocery stores, Puerto Rican places with one of my co-workers.
And we're doing Lucha Libre trying to bring in as many of those people actually want the main event Aaron Arsenal versus Rafael Quintero the diamond in the rough He's a big lucha guy.
So he's actually, you know, he's he's from Chicago But you know has a lot of Mexican heritage.
We have Sam Eli who's from Puerto Rico Axel Rico from Puerto Rico I really want to just bring the community together and just bring everybody into I
remember doing a live shot for my old radio show from the subway down here
That's a subway Ray were the mask.
Oh,
we're in
a stereo
Ray, Missy.
Yep.
Yeah.
He was
cool.
He's a legend.
I said you
can take that off.
It's like 90 degrees.
No, I can't take that up.
No, no, no.
I said it's just
us.
There's nobody goes.
No, I
know.
Maybe you do the mask thing with with it.
You know, oh, wow.
You change it for something.
You get
the
mask.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's there's
a couple reasons to do that.
All right.
Hey, you guys are awesome.
Thanks again, teacher, for everything you do for us.
I think HWE
Wrestling.
Do we have your website?
Do we say that?
I know we're going to be at Badger State Sunday, June 29.
Facebook will get you anything you need.
Facebook, HWE, Hybrid Wrestling Entertainment.
Awesome.
HWE Wrestling, they're awesome.
Coming to Northeast Wisconsin live from the Civic Media Studios, this is Mino and the Mayor.
And here are your hosts, John Mino and Jim
Schmidt.
Hey, welcome back.
Mino and the Mayor here.
Man, we've had some great guests today, haven't we?
A lot of
fun.
And I think we're the only show that'll go from pro wrestling to the MULPA Center for the Arts.
That's
all right.
I think that just shows the breath of the community and what's going on.
You're
both bringing something cool to the community.
Love it.
Love it.
And quality stuff too,
which is cool.
Introduce our special guest, Jim.
So the Malva, what's the title?
Malva Cultural Center.
Malva Cultural
Center, that's slipped.
And I love that place.
And we are so, I was telling you before we came on the air, how
fortunate we are to have that.
And you have an event coming up and Katie Compton and Nancy Pierce.
He asked me when I start talking about the event.
I was going
to do that
all the time.
You should probably say the
people's names first and then where they were.
That's not really true.
Todd.
I'm not getting in the middle of this.
I'm
not going to be the child that has to pick a parent.
We love your facility there.
You get to live with one of us.
What's it going to be?
And you've got a great exhibit coming up.
And thanks for being in here.
So Katie, you are kind of the director.
And tell us what the art display that's coming up here.
Sure.
So we just opened our newest free atrium exhibit.
So this one you don't have to pay come see.
And it's called Art of the Aviary.
And it's in partnership with the Green Bay Art Colony.
And it's all local artists.
you know, kind of dissolve or dissolves, devolves into like the world of flight and the world of aviation.
So it's a really beautiful exhibit.
And Nancy here is, is with me today from the Green Bay Art Colony.
And she actually has some pieces in it.
And she can tell us a little bit about how great that organization is as well.
Yeah, Green Bay Art Colony has been around for over a hundred years.
It started.
Isn't that we got a brochure on that from yesterday.
Okay.
Yeah.
Back in 1915.
Yes.
And they helped start the Neville Museum.
because they all wanted a place to exhibit their art, and then it evolved into Green Bay Art Colony.
Talk about the uniqueness of that organization.
Well, the fact is that we're only a women's organization, and I believe that we are the oldest women's art organization in the state.
So that's terrific.
Right.
1915, wow.
Yeah, a nice legacy behind us, and hopefully continues.
But yeah, we have 19 different artists at this exhibit.
A lot of really cool art, different media.
We've got photography, sculpture, painting, three-dimensional.
And
what is your niche?
Mine is photography.
And when it comes to the display of aviation, what kind of things will we see under your display?
Well, it's less about aviation and more about the broad area of flight.
You'll see a lot of birds, you'll see sky, you will see composites that bring both of those together.
The display is up now.
It started this Wednesday, I believe it was the first Tuesday.
Yep, this last week and then we had an opening on Friday, which was really well
attended.
Yep.
And the really nice thing about this one is that everybody's local.
And so when you come in and you can experience these pieces, these are all people living in your community.
And you can just see the, the amount of talent for the people, you know, you're walking by and target and you're like, you don't know, but these people are very talented.
These are very, very beautiful pieces.
And they're, you know, they, they are very diverse when you look through them.
So it's a really cool exhibit.
And we were mentioning during the break, we had Naomi on the other day and Jim and I went to like her.
It wasn't a grand opening last summer, but it's an open
house.
That's where we're looking.
Yeah, the art crush.
And it's the same thing.
It's like, we're looking and I said, wow, look at this.
Where did this come from?
And the lady will be like, well, that's mine.
Yeah.
It's like, whoa, that's almost like scary.
How does somebody have that kind of talent?
It's
us.
I'm amazed at how much talent there is here in the arts and, you know, the visual arts, but you know, just the music arts, we have somebody
coming
in.
Absolutely.
performing arts, it's just, we're very blessed here in this community.
I think we've been a little bit overshadowed by the athletic arts, which
is great.
I mean, we are, we're very fortunate, but what a great display and that flight is, that's a pretty broad brush.
It is, it is.
And it's fun to see where their imaginations have taken them because there's quite a broad variety of subject matter and the way they've executed it.
Tell us about photography because that's changed so much over the years.
Hasn't it with technology?
It has.
Used to be 35 millimeter was the standard and it was film and now you can hardly find anyone who can develop film.
We've gone into the
digital age
and even processing it is still done by hand because the
Processing is done digitally a lot of times with Photoshop, but
okay, we got it because I had a photography class in college
Yeah,
and there was something magical about taking that thing and putting it in the solution or whatever and seeing that thing appear
that was so much fun Yeah, yeah, that was fun.
It was kind of magic.
It was
magic exactly
But it's also fun when when you're working on the computer to bring a picture to life because the camera only sees Light okay what you saw with your eyes
needs to be brought out of that picture.
It's not automatic.
You might have to brighten it.
You might have to sharpen it.
You might have to tweak the colors because the camera didn't see the difference between the bright pink and the pale pink.
So it is a little bit like magic when you're still working on the computer, but it's a different process.
How many
artists do you have again?
Did you tell me that?
19.
How many pieces of art did you display?
Nancy.
Oh, it's talking about
Nancy.
It's a little bit over 50.
Yeah.
I only have three pieces in there.
Okay.
Some people have one.
Some people have three,
four.
That must have been difficult for you to pick three pieces when given the subject matter was aviation.
Yeah.
It was an open, open-ended subject.
So it was hard to kind of pare it down to what I wanted to put in the show.
Okay.
And there's, how many did you say?
A
little bit over 50
pieces.
Wow.
That's cool.
Yeah.
And it's just different.
types?
Is there some sculpture
there?
There's some sculpture, photography, there's paintings.
Fabric?
There's fabric.
That's right.
There's some textile arts.
It's really cool because with that broad, like with the aviary being the topic so broad, like Nancy was saying, it's cool to see how everybody kind of took that topic and made it their own.
So there's a lot of birds, but there's some that have no birds.
And so just to kind of see the variations on how that creativity came out with that one topic.
You know what I think is
one of the cool things taking place in art right now.
And people might say, wow, that's not really right.
It's when these people put together these sculpture type things.
of things they find beach combing.
Oh, yeah.
Have you seen some of those?
Yeah.
It's amazing what they can create out of pieces of glass and things that they find on the beaches and walking around.
Yeah.
And sometimes it's not even beach.
Sometimes it is just litter or, you know, recycled or things like that.
I believe one of the artists she uses like a foam, like a packing foam in the in the current exhibit.
And she kind of carps part of that out and then paints it and then puts a resin over it to give it a little bit more texture.
So I think even some of those pieces have different kind of media, you know, they're mixed media.
just to see that creativity.
The creativity of
some
people.
When you don't have that, as a person that doesn't have
that.
It's creative in the subject matter, but it's also very creative in the techniques used to present the final piece of art.
Exactly.
I mean, that's so impressive.
Right,
right.
You know, that skill that, and again, is it, is art, and whatever you want to, you know, use is what art is, is it?
And anyway, an inquired skill or when you were born, did you have those chromosomes that said, this is what I'm going to be good at?
Well, I think everybody is good at art when they're young and they're uninhibited and can just do what they feel like doing.
But I think as we grow older, we have perfectionistic tendencies and we want it to look perfect.
And when it isn't perfect, we get discouraged.
And if there isn't somebody there to help kind of nurture you along.
that sort of just kind of gets put in the back.
I can
see that.
So are you a teacher?
You seem like you encourage people to not get intimidated and not become...
You seem very
supportive.
Right, don't let perfection get in the way of good enough.
Well, I'm speaking personally.
Oh, that's great.
No, I'm not a teacher, but I find that I am probably my worst critic.
I look at it and say, well, that's not how it looked.
And then the other part of me says,
How can you make it that way?
What can you do?
How can you change it?
And I think with the darkroom, you had a lot less control over how that final product was manipulated and changed and encouraged in the darkroom, whereas now the sky's the limit.
And so
there's a
lot.
Katie, will some
of this artwork be for sale?
Some of it is for sale.
So we do have a brochure there that you can flip through it and you can contact the artists and the prices are in it.
Some of it is already sold.
Some of it's not for sale.
And actually, if you come in and visit our splurge gift shop, some of the artists have additional pieces for sale in the gift shop of various sizes and various price points and things like that.
So yeah, stop it.
Is it getting the reputation now around the state that this is kind of a hub, so to speak, of cool, original art?
You know, we hope so.
One of our focuses is just bringing in things that we feel the community wants to see and then getting that feedback from the community.
This one here is, you know, being all local artists, we've really had a really good reception, people coming in specifically to see it.
And two, because their friend is in it, their neighbor, you know, somebody they saw on social media, you know, they know people in it and they want to come see the art, but also people are just curious.
what is going on in the community, I think, like Jim said before, we have a lot of really talented people in this community, and we have musicians in every Thursday, and yeah, I think that knowing that and enjoying some of that is really, we're getting there as a community, we're seeing all the music and the arts kind of come out a bit more.
That's awesome.
One thing I think that the MOVA is good at is involving kids, and you're...
once a month sessions that the kids can come and do something artistic.
And we have two days that Green Bay Art Colony is going to be the teachers.
Those are coming up.
One is going to be kids can create a birdhouse, paint a birdhouse,
decorate a birdhouse.
Okay, stop right there.
I wasn't contacted.
You know about my birdhouse building
ability.
Oh,
my goodness.
Tell us.
Actually, they do.
Yeah, that's my passion is building Barnwood birdhouses.
Oh, yeah.
These are miniature ones that we're doing.
And then we're having, we're letting people come in and they can decorate them.
But one of the artists is going to lead that session.
So every second Saturday of the month, we have a drop in program that goes from noon to three.
And so for the.
July and the August.
Sorry to remember what month it is.
The July and the August ones, we're going to have artists from the Grime Art Colony coming in.
So the Birdhouse is the first one, but they're a little bit smaller.
They're adorable.
They're very cute.
They can
be done in a short period of time and you go home with something that's finished and
cool.
I think it's great what you said, where the art community is giving back.
I don't think you could ask for anything better than that.
I thought that was interesting what Nancy said about that.
I think maybe everyone is a little bit of an artist, but
for whatever reason, they didn't pursue it.
And then you get that
one bad grade
when you're in the sixth grade in our project.
Or criticism, or great or criticism.
But I don't want to go to a quick break here, but Katie, we just need to talk a little bit more about all the things Mova offers.
And I know some of it may cost some money, but so much of it is free as well.
And again, as I told you,
such a beautiful building.
I don't think people understand how welcoming that
building
is.
And
I know Nancy's been there a lot of times, but I think...
When you look at us, we're kind of statuesque.
And I think people find it, we're a little intimidating.
But when you come in and we're anything but the team, everybody's very welcoming.
And just to put this out there, on July 4th, actually, from 10 to 3, we're going to be open for free during those hours.
So you can come see the exhibits.
See everything?
We're going to be running two films.
That's cool.
I mean, if you want something in the cafe, that'll cost you a little.
But everything else you can do for free that day.
I'll talk more about all the things that you offer there.
And even if it is cost money, it's
It's not a lot,
you know,
it's just, your price so well.
I just, we're so fortunate to have that here.
Thanks to the Malvas.
All right, we're going to be right back with
Katie Cochran and Nancy Pierce, Malva Cultural Center for the Arts.
Back after
this.
And spring became the summer Who'd have believed you'd come along Hand Touching hand
Hey,
welcome back coming up in a few minutes.
We've got daddy deep productions live music exclusive and Nate And we've got our man the man the man is in the house
Glam band in us, which will always be fun Katie Compton Nancy Pierce talk about the mulch Mulva cultural center for the arts and you know Jim and I were actually just talking during a break here today I was at Walgreens in deep here and you walk I was like whoa That is that is quite the impressive structure.
Yeah, we have a beautiful building And with some of the engineering that went into it, you know, we have heat that comes through the floors and we have
the way the snow melts.
Like there's all these things that were really thoughtfully put into it.
And I think that's what we also tried to bring them to the exhibits and to the films and everything we're bringing in.
You know, we try to give that thoughtful like, what are people curious about?
And that's what we kind of want to lean into.
Nancy just text us, she says, Hey, please make sure that we'll talk about the Malva somebody mentioned to the gift shop.
It is a great place to find really unique, one of a kind gifts at all price points.
Yes.
So we have a gift shop right when you walk in, it's called splurge.
And you know, we have some local artists in there from RDA.
but some local artists that are also not.
So we have gifts from artists from all over the country.
So a lot of one of the kind unique things in that gift shop.
So if you're looking for a gift or if you're looking for something original, it's really a great place to stop by, but it has all price points.
And I think sometimes people walk into a gift shop like that and they think everything is too expensive.
It really isn't.
We also have a section that is just about our exhibits.
So right now we have Spy and we have Explore Your World.
So we have little books on Spycraft for kids.
And
let's mention the food.
Oh, yeah,
we have a great
brunch on Sundays.
We do love
I didn't know that until I drove past yesterday and I sat on the marquee.
Oh, yeah,
so we I get that all that's probably the common I get quite a bit when people walk in there like we didn't realize you had a restaurant It does say on the side of the building like like Sunday brunch or whatever So we have a beautiful restaurant.
It's called Saber on Broadway We do lunches Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday We do brunch on Sunday and then we do dinners on Thursday Friday Saturday And it's a unique menu.
We change it out about twice a year some local flavors.
We look for
or local things in the community, bringing stuff in fresh, so.
I was gonna say
your
sandwich, it's very fresh, salad, and it's a healthy place to eat, right?
I mean, wouldn't that?
Well, I mean, we're trying to do like more farm to table, right?
So it isn't driving necessarily from the other side of the world to get here, and there's not necessarily anything wrong with that, but that's what our focus is, is kind of bringing in that fresh food, things that are gonna be more seasonal.
Right.
And since it's changing up, any time you go in there, you might get something completely different.
I bet they
don't have pasty
night.
I don't think they do.
We do not.
No, I don't remember seeing that.
Don't too much lard.
At brunch though, we have some really great waffles and stuff.
And a lot of times that flavor is changing.
I know we had, we've had like key lime and things like that.
So you, you know,
how
old
am I using the word lard?
Right.
Katie, I think you have so many events there.
And I just think there's still people out of the 200,000 people that live here.
I don't know what percent has been there Back in the day, I'm gonna age myself a little bit.
We had this passport in your own town and you got you go to places because there's a lot of people that hadn't been to the botanical gardens I mean it's like everybody's been to Bay Beach in Lambeau field although the Hall of Fame a lot of people hadn't been to the new one right and You you would get this stamped and I don't know maybe there was 20 things in there I don't even know and then you turned it in and
There were gifts that you could win.
Okay, one of them of course was Packard tickets But then there were some other things that people could win and a lot a lot of people did that and I think that would be cool to do again Yeah, and I think you have a couple months to do it.
It's not like I'm doing a weekend Yeah, but I just think it's there's just so many cool things that happen and I think that you know even Tarle's place Tarleton the Tarleton needs to I don't know that's a cool place in Green
Bay
You have a lot of cool stuff in deep here and everywhere, right?
So anyway, I just
think that we should maybe work on that together.
Yeah,
absolutely.
And I think that you're, you're hitting the nail on the head there.
There's a lot of really awesome things in the community.
You know, you've got the Neville, the Botanical Garden and things that have been here a little bit and they're in people's brains, but then you're like, I haven't been there in forever.
And so this kind of gets people out because they're always changing their stuff.
We're always changing.
Throw
this out there with him, but.
Bay Beach, I took my granddaughters there and they're
from Madison where you've
got everything in the world and you go to Wisconsin Dills.
They just said that was the coolest place they've ever been.
Absolutely.
And
look at what they've added in the last 10
years.
And
look at the botanical
gardens.
And you buy 40 tickets for like five
dollars.
But the botanical gardens, that bowl they have there and those
concerts there is
in, you know,
they have festivals.
Right.
So there's
all, people are upgrading.
They've been here
for a
while, but you got to be competitive.
We just talking about your state about, you got
to be
competitive.
And anyway,
I just think we've got to work
on that
together, but I just, let's get back to
how great this
is with Nancy and this display.
Just want you
to say one more thing about the, cause I've always been interested in photography, even with being in TV and newspaper type work where I used to do that and everything like that.
And there is an, it's not just pointing and shooting.
And then the camera industry, I think has.
try to sell it that oh no even with our camera you it doesn't matter you just point and shoot that isn't it at all isn't yes anybody can do that but to make something that somebody wants to put on a wall that takes a skill
well it's kind of funny but um
It's kind of like saying to a writer, a gifted writer, you must have a wonderful typewriter.
Exactly.
That's what I mean.
The camera isn't necessarily what makes a good picture.
Exactly.
It's the eye and what you do to it afterwards.
Yes.
That's cool.
And it's too bad Kodak didn't keep up with the times, right?
You know,
great
company goes under because it changed.
And if you don't change with the times, and you obviously did, you know, and I think that's cool, but that you, but some things never change.
And that's the photographer.
for not the photography.
What that photographer sees is the key.
And it is about what you see.
And it's fun to go out with several people in a camera group and then come back and share photos and say, I never saw that.
Where was that?
We each see something different.
And that's kind of fun to see what's going on in people's
minds.
I'm really interested because you must have
I'm going to guess thousands of pictures and I'm going to be interested in the three that you picked.
That
must have been like difficult.
It was.
I have one that's just a black and white.
All you see is the black background, which is water and one single white feather floating on the water.
Wow.
Just very simple.
That's awesome.
Great stuff.
I can't wait to see that.
Katie Compton, Nancy Pierce, Mother Cultural Center for the Arts.
You got to stop down there, folks.
This
is really cool.
And free on July 4th.

How you doing, my brother?
How
you doing?
You're doing, you're looking good, man.
Must have been something I ate.
How you guys doing?
great doing great you know what's interesting is this this uh episode starts the sun pops out always can you dig it i
can't dig
it okay can i just ask quick did we lose one of your guys
You're the muscle?
Wasn't there
three of them?
He's behind the camera.
Oh, he's behind the camera.
Is
he strong arm and Todd behind the mic?
I thought I know we've offended guys quickly, but not that quick.
Usually they stay for a minute or two.
Yeah.
He's
a little
bit shy, but I
mean.
Introduce yourselves.
First of all, I'm really jealous that you guys are as young as you are and as talented as you are, but go
ahead.
I appreciate it.
Well, I'm Jesus Castillo, better known as Artis named Exclusive.
I'm finding all platforms, but yeah, that's me.
And then I'm here with my buddy Nate.
Yeah, so I'm Nate, you know.
You can, my artist name is Nate DeCapo, I source like that so you can find me underneath all that.
You know, I'm turning 21 next week and yeah, we all put in music.
Gee,
must be flipping nice.
So.
Explain what Decapo means.
So Decapo is an Italian music term for back to the beginning.
So every time I go and make a project, you know, when I make a Nate Decapo project, that means it's a self-produced project.
So every time I go and make a self-produced project, I go back to the beginning.
What can I do to make something new?
What can I do to just start over and just create something different?
Right on.
Beautiful.
I like
that part of it.
Yeah.
That's
what you encourage, isn't it, Dennis?
Oh, absolutely.
This guy's just full of it.
I mean, when I say that, I mean, he's got the spirit.
He's got the spirit of the music in him, you know, and you can see the creativity.
actually can see it.
It's just awesome.
Hey, his work, I think it's crazy.
Like he like he run laps around me, you know, like it's crazy.
Like his work, I think like, no, big, big inspiring, which is why I wanted him here.
You know, I wanted to put him on the radio, you know, so he can get his name, his name out there and stuff.
And we're about to perform a song.
Well, later on in the section, right?
We're about to perform a song together.
And, and yeah, but you're exclusive.
Are the two of you or you?
No, that's just me.
That's just you.
Exclusive.
And then this is Nate the capo.
Okay.
All right.
All right.
And you guys, you work
together.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He literally.
me under his wing probably about like two years ago now
I would
say and like you know that was back when I was like 18 years old and and I was still like very immature but he still took me under his wing and taught me everything.
What's he talking about
being immature?
I'm still
working
on that
one.
Three times your age and we're still immature.
No yeah no I saw him like I like when I first met him I met him through another buddy his name is Michael you know shout out Michael and I met him he brought him to the studio because I go to UWO for music so I'm in UWO for audio production and
business so I do music and I own a business and so I do that and then one day he brought him he brought him with and then right off the back like you know I like them I'm like I like you know like yeah like he said he was a little bit immature at first it was like you know it took me a minute but then as she got older I saw him mature more in the music and I saw that he was more serious and then yeah we started hanging out more getting the studio more and stuff like that and then now we're making songs together he's producing his own stuff like I'm very proud of this young man right here yeah
next week on the album
We have a song called the light and that's you know, like I said produced by me and and it's one that's by him and I and so that's gonna be out next week as well
All your music is original.
Oh, yeah, everything like well except well I'm not gonna lie like some of the beats we do get from YouTube obviously we pay licenses and stuff But our music some will not the music my bad the beat so that some of the beats are from YouTube So you got to pay a license to the producer of the beat and so like that but some beats are made from my buddy Brandon He's another beatmaker that we met at UWO and I don't know everything starting out at UWO
Like you know like we have like the whole like the cameraman out there the beatmaker like everything starting out out there So it's been going pretty good.
All right any
tape that say at least for me any tape.
That's a Nate de capo tape All the beats are made by me.
All
right.
We're not talking about the beats for that growing the ground
kids For
guys our agent looking for better circulation,
but
so explain to the to the layperson beats the concept of beats what that means and how that
Creates your music.
Okay.
So basically like well, okay, if we get them off YouTube like basically like
I'm gonna just tell you my process right like if I if I if I'm feeling inspired like I want to write a song or do something I literally just go on YouTube and then like I just look up like an artist type beat and then I just like I See if I like it or not and then like all of a sudden like the first couple lines that come into my head That's the chorus of the song.
That's usually what works for me like
let me hear you do one live a beat a good
beat
I just that surprises me that they're like patented that I That you have to buy it.
Yeah, that they're that the copyrights for that many I mean isn't it all kind of like
Just out there for
anybody so they're all like kind of the same yeah the 60s were kind of the same 70s
It's not that.
They're all, people own that.
Yeah.
If
you're the
first one to copyright it, it's yours.
You get
the rights.
I didn't know that.
On the title of the beat, like let's say you go on YouTube right now and you find like any beat, it's going to say free, but like it's really not free.
They just put it's like, it kind of like a clickbait, you know?
And then like, but then you read the description that says all free, but you have to buy a license or whatever.
So it's really not free, but some of them are, some of them say free for profit, which like, but it's rare to come across.
But I mean, some of them like to say, yeah, like I had, I had a couple of songs that like even though I paid
for like the license, they took them down.
Cause I guess like, they just didn't see the license or whatever.
They took them down and stuff.
But like, yeah, it's like, it's, it's kind of a, like, I don't even know.
You guys ready to turn this place apart?
All right.
Who are
we gonna hear?
Let's hear the one with you guys both.
Yeah, that sounds good.
Bring it on.
Yeah, let's get it.
It's a Spanish and English song that me and Nate did.
Oh, Spanglish, I love it.
Spanglish.
I don't even speak Spanish.
It took me four hours to write my verse.
Tell me mommy, tell me what you want.
We are alone, tell me what you prefer.
Your mom talks to you when it suits you.
Tell me mommy, tell me what you want.
We are alone, tell me what you prefer.
Your mom talks to you when it suits you.
Tell me mommy, tell me what you want.
We are alone, tell me what you prefer.
Tell me why.
I ain't see your love tonight.
Let me see your hips and thighs.
Your body has been hypnotized.
You gotta
play a scene.
Te
amo.
Si me tienes
todos mis los vatos.
Mi amor que estás haciendo.
Can you sway your waist to the waves of the temple?
Tienes por más que no entiendo No puedes tener todo mi amor, se
ha ido Me cojas, andas hasta cerrado en el dinero Mi mami, I ain't sorry, now let's connect the spirit show
prende.
Tell me why I see your love tonight.
Let me see your hands.
That
was me and Nate, exclusive and Nate live.
You know what I'm saying?
We made this song in like, what, like 30 minutes?
I don't even know.
We did it so quick.
That was a good idea.
Exclusive and Nate, Daddy D, Productions Live Music Series with Dennis from the Glam Band.
The only, I have to say, the only word I knew in that, denaro.
That's the only thing I knew.
Oh
my gosh, that was awesome.
So here's this guy from Whartonville dropping some Spanish
on y'all.
And he wrote it by himself.
I did not help him.
Yeah, I speak Spanish and all that he wrote it by himself I
locked myself in a room for about four hours and I said I got to do the song justice
Wow,
and and I you know if you listen to it, you know, and you know Spanish it kind of makes sense so We
hope
there are no Spanish swear words No, no, no, no, no, no everything was clean.
It's close to clean time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So the music is what you
purchased
What was the beat for this song?
Okay, yeah, the beat, only the beat.
The instrumental, so
like the drums and like the guitars.
Okay,
and
then you wrote that and put that to that music.
Correct, yeah, and then recorded it myself and then mixed my vocals, he mixed his, then I sent him my vocals and then he mastered them all and blended
them all together.
Wow, see what ended up happening though was like for this song it has an interesting story because like I had this song, like I recorded the chorus for this song like
Like three years now, and I had it in the ball for the longest because I just didn't know what to do with it next So you know that do you know mommy do you know okay?
Okay, like all that part like I wrote it I was
gonna ask you about that part.
Yeah.
Yeah, so I wrote that John was singing along.
Okay.
Yeah, I appreciate it Yeah, so like I wrote this little chorus like maybe like three years ago now and I had it in the ball for the longest and I would show all my friends like bro You gotta drop this like it's like the song of the summer this and that this and that and like I just didn't know what to do, right?
And then one day like Nate he's like he hit me up like bro
You gotta get on something, and this is honestly our first song together.
He was like, hey bro, we gotta get on something like all this work that we're doing and we don't really have like a, we don't have like a song together and this and that, right?
And then, yeah, one day I was on a trip in Mexico and then I was like, you know what, I'm gonna just send it to Nate.
And then he sent it back to me within a day and, wow, that's awesome.
He
sent me three different songs and he told me to pick one.
I was going through, you know, I heard one and I was like, oh, you know, that's tough.
Heard another one, oh, that's tough.
And then I heard Dima Lomami and I'm like, that's a hit.
That's a hit.
Can I
translate?
Sorry.
Yeah, so, um, I mean, yeah, I can translate so, so I say, tell me what you want.
Tell me what you want.
Tell me what you want.
Tell me girl what you want.
We're alone.
Tell me what you want.
That's a fair question.
It sounds so much better.
Yeah.
Sorry, I brought
it up.
I don't think that song would have got anywhere in English.
You should send it to Modelo and say, hey, man, make this a commercial.
Because it gives you those vibes of summer.
Absolutely.
And
refreshing Mexican Modelo beer.
Exactly.
That's where that put me.
No, Modelo too, all the way.
But yeah, it's basically like, oh, tell me, girl, what you want.
We're alone.
Tell me what you want.
You only hit me up when you only hit me.
When you want something when you want something and
the same
as
all yours Dennis We
guys said to a
break Exclusive and Nate daddy deep productions are live music series with glam band Dennis.

That's if you can find me on Spotify, Apple Music, all platforms and exclusive.
The S in the middle is a dollar sign.
And yeah, you can find me there.
And my Instagram is official exclusive with three E's.
And
yeah, basically.
You like to stir it up a little bit.
So the on Spotify, it's exclusive.
The S is a dollar sign.
Yes.
And.
What's the
three?
Oh, I didn't money me whether or somebody have that one first.
There's
basically that's what happened Yeah, I couldn't keep it the same because someone already
said
that in so I had to add three ease at the end of it exclusive official And then yeah, that's that's the only way it works.
Okay.
Yeah.
All right.
What about you my
boy?
Yeah, and you know My my Spotify username is Nate, but the easiest way to find me is Nate the capo on the hat So just Nate the capo.
I got an album dropping actually on Sunday 21 so
for my 21st birthday, every single instrumental made by me, all vocals recorded, mixed and mastered by me as well.
Dang!
July 6th, right?
July 6th, correct.
And that's on all platforms.
Yes, I just actually released three songs this past week and then one song with three other featuring artists on it last night.
It is a hip-hop album, so I just want to clarify that.
You know, when you go in, you know, it's hip-hop elements in that.
I find it interesting when people say they're
I hope it doesn't break on the way down.
By the way, de Capo also means the boss in
Italian.
Oh, yeah.
It's also a music term in Italian for back to the beginning.
Oh,
OK.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So a couple meetings, you know.
So the beginning boss, what does this mean?
The beginning boss, hey.
All right, we need to hear some more music.
Who's this one coming from?
Exclusive?
Yeah, this basic one.
This is another Spanish one that I wrote a long time ago, actually, but it's about my life.
It's in
Spanish, but I hope you guys like it.
Come on.
I just get it.

Yeah, come on.
That's the longest I've ever seen anybody go without breathing.
I was gonna say I was ready to do CPR
there for a second, brother.
I think it took three breaths of the whole song.
I guess I'm good with my breath control.
When I'm recording, I kind of just like, you know, a lot of people like punching in, like they do like
singing a song.
I kind of just like doing one take and then like do the next one like that and pick the best one.
I just is you're into it as much as he is
Yeah, I like I actually haven't even gone to bed yet.
I work night shifts, so I actually recorded two songs
But you're like
Not in your head at the same time.
He is
yeah,
yeah
When I hear music, I just I feel it like yeah, like I'm like it's like a connection that it's it's not just like listening You know, it's like an experience for me at least and you know, you feel the grooves and you just right, you know
Especially the Spanish like he really gets into I'm telling like he surprised me with that Dima Lamami verse like I'm telling you I didn't help him like with a single word He just did it himself like
yeah, it's great.
You and my know we're just really feeling the
I'm
ready to hit the beach right now with a modello.

Here's John Mino and Jim Schmidt.
