Somewhere in Mantua County, I should, some of those big farms, because I remember when a couple of tornadoes had hit in, in Mantua County years ago.

But you look at the size of those barns and all that, and the way then you see the aftermath, the, the, the unbelievable, unharnessed power that those tornadoes
like
Like I went over to check on his parents and tornado came through the guy jumped in.
the bathtub with his mom.
That's the only thing that survived.
Dad got thrown 30 feet out of the house.
Wow.
It's amazing.
He's like standing there talking to her mom.
It's a tornado coming.
And I was like, wow, thank God he was there.
Everything I read about that is, oh, Brittany's coming.
Okay.
Everything I was reading about that, because it is kind of fascinating because here we are, you know, again, we can put people on Mars now, basically.
live on the moon if we wanted to.

But there is something right there in Mother Nature that's just like, you know what?
There's nothing we can do.

But I read where one in Kentucky or one of those places was like a mile.
Why and 120 miles an hour wins everything in that path.

I've seen ever was and we're joking about this, but when I was in the parade for the miss Wisconsin teen pageant I was like the one of the judges emcee or whatever nosh gosh.

I mean the nicest, you know, it was all super okay, but
Halfway through the parade the sky's turned to color like nobody'd ever seen before it was like a weird orangey greenish yes thing yeah, and they sirens up they had to end up parade Early because it was so eerie and I'll never forget that I'm driving back to Green Bay from Oshkosh and as right by the the weather station thing and like to kind of ish channel five I called Murph
I said, Murph, you're, I don't know where you're going, but I'm gonna try to get some pictures for the show tomorrow.
This is mind boggling.
He said, don't worry.
He says they're all over a Facebook right now.
He says, we don't need, there's like a thousand of them.
Cause it was so freaky.
Everybody was taking a picture of that.

like a total of no time.
First time we went there, what's first thing we do?

He said, I can't believe I held on that long.
So the same thing happened with this guy.

why is this 80s the extreme heat tornadoes across the state and then this cold just seeps in right behind it.
It's a whole different worlds come

It's like you're talking like your daughter's in national 90 and other places 90 and Southwestern and all of a sudden we're like below

came from the north up north.
Go figure good old Canada.
you know, just drop down behind that same system.
So it was a big low pressure system that moved through.
And what happened is we saw that warm front move through on Thursday.
That was the severe weather.
Then we had the cold front move through behind that on Friday.
And then we had the clouds just kind of lingering and hanging around with the gusty winds still.
So we weren't allowed to drop as cold until the clouds left us.
Now that the clouds are pretty much gone.
We crashed below, you know, where we really wanted to be.
I pretty much think of clouds as a blanket.
They keep us warmer overnight
and
they're not there.

I haven't even looked at the UP.

Honestly.
I mean, it's cold enough for it to happen.
And with the winds that strong, the temperature between the lake and the winds, there, there's that chance.

And then I saw the forecast for either Saturday or Sunday was 34 degrees 30 for a high.
And 30 mile an hour wins.

I mean, these tornadoes are so out of control.
It's mind-boggling.
I mean, it's just you just you put up here you go in a hole or so there's nothing to combat that life
I wish there was.
That's why I like those twisters movies, because they're always trying to figure out the data, figure out how to kill the tornado.

And honestly, there's, I mean, just our forecasting for tornadoes isn't as even advanced as we'd like it.

This was a mile wide tornado.

big, mild tornadoes.
This is why sometimes one house will get hit and the other house won't get hit in their neighbors or something like that.

So if you have a big enough tornado that's a mile wide, there's usual multiple vortices within that one tornado.
So different stronger spin ups within it in the sense, I guess is how I'm going to try to describe

Why would you not have a fallout shelter at you like your farm or maybe a backyard just even get like Something some big old round piece of metal dig a hole like a culvert to used culvert dig that down ten feet in the hole
have the one escape thing or whatever, and just have that just in case.

But like what percent like to put it in perspective, what we had versus what they had.

We had a little outbreak, but they were all weaker tornadoes.
You know, none of them got over 125 mile per hour wind gusts.
And EF2 was the strongest it was rated.
I mean, not to discount that, that does a lot of damage and stuff.
But when you get to the stronger type, a whole mile wide, the strength that those are packing and how much ground that they are covering, it can take the house completely off its foundation.

And you know you hate to say tucky Let's talk to that person that worked for the Red Cross one time said a lot of those injuries You think would be really gruesome and they're not there might have been like one two by four that went flying through the The sky, you know and hit a person and then there's no other mark on them Wow, but they're just the force of everything that's flying around is beyond belief.
It's just beyond belief
And I have heard, too, of people being in their basements, thinking they're completely safe and fine, and huge farm silos crashing into the basement once their house is removed.
So you got to think about, I go into the basement, under the stairs, put stuff over you.
You got to just think about, if everything were to be gone and the debris still flying, people get so lucky.

when he was 13 years old you won the national duck calling competition.

He was Ken Anderson's assistant coach at old Claire.

Dale was a longtime assistant coach here at UW-Green Bay.
Phenomenal coach at Minnesota Duluth, coached at Milton College, coached at Eau Claire for a lot of years.
From Marinette, I think he was the first guy, one of the very first people put in the Marinette Sports Hall of Fame.
He was instrumental with getting the Hall of Fame going in Marinette.
Marinette guy and who never, even though he's been all around the state after that, never lost his roots for Marinette, which was always cool.
