Maino and the Mayor · Fri May 9, 2025
Coming to Northeast Wisconsin live from the Civic Media Studios, this is Mino and the Mayor.
And
here are your hosts, John Mino and Jim Schmidt.
Good morning.
Happy Friday to you.
Got to be honest with you.
I was watching the news this morning and that forecast
After today looks spectacular for next week Wow 78 80 81
The Pope Trump that I didn't watch the weather I'm
he even commented on he said he can't get wait to get back to the Midwest.
Yeah, does that great weather?
Oh, yeah,
he said that
I think
that that shock you
yes, it did for what I we talked about this I think last week or two weeks ago, but
To get a Pope from the United States was, you know, these other 130 cardinals, they're a little hesitant, of course there's eight of them on ours, but hesitant to give that kind of power.
I mean, and I hate the word choose power with the Pope, but I mean, come on, that guy can, he can move things.
Well, there's 1.5 billion people that are following in the Catholic
faith.
So they thought, oh, to really give that along with the world's strongest
military power.
Can you say one thing?
I don't mean to interrupt one thing, but somebody asked me about this yesterday.
Text me said, do you wear shirts to advertise companies?
Is that where you?
And it's like, no, I just, I only have free shirts.
Somebody always says, mind, I'm not sure if that's right.
You're advertising your shirts.
No, it's just people that come in and give me a free shirt.
We do have some free shirts.
So I'm not trying to make a statement.
They're like, what was that statement?
What is that for?
I have just one more people that came in.
They were great.
Oh,
yeah.
Cool.
So I just try to advertise to people that come in.
So I'm not making a political statement.
I'm not trying to.
There's no hidden thing just so you know.
You're not getting any money
on the side.
You're not
getting any money on the side.
They're so hard to get.
Oh, by the way, that's a controversy going on.
What's
that?
Um, Mel Kuiper Jr.
Okay, who went crazy at Draft Night here because Sanders dropped so far.
Reports going on that maybe there's a little something, something with the, I said, Hey man, elevate my son.
So anyway, that's a nice story.
Can you believe that that would happen
in the Sanders family?
But maybe that happened with the Pope's.
No, I just, I was.
just really pleased with that.
Because being the strongest military world power and then getting a leader who's probably one of the strongest leaders or sought after leaders in the world, to have those two from the same country.
However, this is why I think they chose him.
He's a dual passport, right?
He was in Peru, did a lot of things there.
So I think those guys are like, hey, look, he's not.
He's in both countries.
So let's let's let him do this great administrator But what's cool about this?
I do think now I can go on the record saying this, you know, I tried that Pope the Green Bay thing remember that Bishop pulled me in
his office and
put the smackdown on me But
that was
a fun campaign because of the Marion shrine we have out here in champion Look, this guy's from Chicago.
His brother still lives.
I mean he's gonna come back, right?
So I do think in our lifetime that he will come and visit the shrine because he's Midwest and
I don't know
you
don't think oh i
think you hear his opening comment yesterday
no
are you didn't hear it
well
it's an
italian but what
you did i i tried i understood it you didn't okay what yeah i listened to him what
Dave Packers still suck he said that i missed that part
he was up on the balcony yeah i
saw pictures
what did he say what did he say
hold yes okay that's pretty cool i but the other connection i just um not far be it for me to ever drop names
So I went to school with Phil Doherty, a friend of mine.
His son went into the Norbertine Order, is now a Norbertine priest, is actually friends with the now Pope.
Wow.
So that's cool.
Well, I was seeing a thing on Spectrum, or whatever, but the church that he had been, where he went to school or had been the pastor, I mean, it's just all...
It's closed.
It's vandalized.
It's graffiti all over it.
I think this might turn.
And there might be.
Somebody said, we may have a restoration project.
It's like, can you imagine that?
Bring them back.
Yeah, I
think.
That's cool.
Anyway, that's, that was a big deal.
And I just, yeah, that's just nice to have a leader.
So.
Oh, it's huge.
Yeah, it is.
I mean, it really is.
That's a huge deal.
Yeah.
And that Leo, that's Leo the 14th.
That's a cool name.
I like that.
You know, Francis was alright, but Leo the 14th got a little power.
Of course, the lion always has power.
And Leo the 13th, which was what?
How long ago was he?
Yeah.
I'm just saying to follow his footsteps is cool
too.
Right.
You know, working with the poor.
I agree.
So yeah.
No, I do.
I don't know.
I don't know the lineage.
You know the Pope lineage, like I know quarterback lineage.
Oh, no, I don't.
No, I don't know.
But it is close.
No, but don't give me that credit.
Your son knows.
Pope lineage all I know is yes, I mean I I have an interest in that and then remember that guy that built that that church in Rome and he's got Circles he built this thing.
I don't know just billion years ago and circles to put all the popes in and he only it only goes up to like 270 something like end of the world type thing.
That's what people think What number is this?
This is 267.
Oh Yeah, so
we're that close to the end of the world today.
Well if you follow that you follow this guy.
Yeah
Wow.
Okay.
But anyway, this guy's going to be great.
And he's young.
He's only two years older than you, Johnny.
Uh, one.
Oh,
yeah.
Happy birthday.
I noticed that too.
So what have you done?
But yeah,
I bet, you
know,
it's like we could have been altar boys together.
He was an altar
boy.
I know.
I bet he's better
than me.
Can you imagine when you get out?
I wonder if he went in there.
Chrissy, that name came pretty quick, so he must have had a little bit of inkling.
But to get out of there, like, who's the first person you call?
I mean, I don't know if his mom's still around, but can you imagine?
Your mom gets one.
Yeah.
I'm Neponta.
His brother, I'm trying to call
him that.
That's
just very cool, that whole thing.
So it's going to be interesting.
Yeah, because you can pretty much in a bar room type thing.
You know, my brother, my brother's a sister equipment manager for the Bulls.
Right.
Or he's, right.
What about you?
My brother's a Pope.
Winner!
Boom.
Drop the mic.
Man.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's huge.
That really truly
is.
It is.
And it's cool from the Midwest.
I think we'll keep tabs on this guy.
But I'd love to see him in Wisconsin someday.
And I think that can happen.
You know what would be cool?
Do a combination thing.
Maybe that would help influence another group and we have them together.
Savannah Bananas and the Pope at Lambeau.
What do you think?
Maybe?
I don't know.
This
Saturday at Lambeau Field, the Savannah Bananas with an opening act.
John Minow singing an Ashland.
Don't know that we would need that.
That'd be cool, though, to get him to the shrine and have Mass at Lambeau Field.
That would be, and that's dual, it's happened before.
Who knows?
That would
be, especially with the connections, then you'll Father Browniac.
Yeah, Jim.
Yeah, sat on a board with the Pope.
Oh, did he really?
Yeah, that's in the news today.
Oh, that's cool.
So those, him and Father Dordi.
Kind of know him so I don't know that that's gonna get him here, but you know five six those guys that's lifetime term So you know if it takes ten years Anyway, I think that's cool news for everybody, but United States especially
Uh-oh.
If he writes stuff down, that is never good.
So, all right, what do I want to talk about while
he's writing stuff?
Well, I'll say this.
Coming up next.
I guarantee I'm going to make him laugh.
After 7 o'clock this morning, it is a free ticket Friday.
We've got tickets to go see the Brewers, be listening in for that keyword, get set to text.
And as always, like all the text-to-win contests with Civic Media, it's our show against the other shows.
So we will give you more details on that.
Coming up after 7 o'clock.
I need
that.
day I want to talk about
it's too
early for that okay
that's funny that is funny
all right now I got to come see what you're going to explain it but we'll
explain
that
break
at the break because you don't you're not gonna know the guy yeah that's funny though
got a nice texture from Terry Pope Leo the 14th is it 14 yeah Port Leo the 4th
Pope Leo the 14th, born in Chicago.
If you guys ever see the movie Conclave, I watched it last night.
Very interesting movie, Terry.
No, you didn't like it.
Then the ending, they could have come up with a better ending.
I thought that was a weird ending, but yeah, Conclave, I liked the first, I don't know, how long was it?
Two hours, the first hour and 15 minutes, I thought was good.
Yeah, I mean, there's not a big, well I shouldn't say there's not a big secret, the whole Conclave's a secret, but like you know,
how that kind of works.
They just talked about the politics, and even when I had Father Girardi on here, there's politics.
Oh, God, I believe that.
These guys were out in the hall just really arguing conservative versus progressive.
Yeah.
This guy seems to be kind of in the middle a little bit, probably a little bit more on the progressive side, but yeah, I mean, he...
Is it what, third ballot, second ballot?
Has any pulp ever retired?
Well, one day.
I don't know,
no, two.
There was one back in the 1400s, and then just recently,
Benedict did, right?
Yeah.
Well, he was health-wise, all because of things.
I don't think so.
Oh, I thought it was.
No, I think he just went, you know, enough of this.
Okay.
We got some texts here.
Vicky says, let's go, fellas.
It's Friday.
You're exactly right, Vicky.
Vicky always has a great attitude.
Vicky, we need you almost every day to give us a little
pep
talk.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because normally it's the other way with people.
I got this although some people are trying.
Morning, guys.
With the weather today, I'm going to take a piece of sunshine and paint it all over my sky.
Hashtag positive texts Friday.
Snarky Brian.
All
right, Brian.
Let's see what comes next, Brian.
Another text here, Sarah.
Are you guys still taking new slogans?
Yes, today is the final day.
We're going to award our winner on our Mino in the Mare slogan, as in, Mino in the Mare.
And there's a couple of good ones.
Oh, some really good ones.
But has Todd got all the votes or do we vote?
Todd's got it.
Todd's the voter.
Todd's the man in charge.
Todd calls the shots.
Right, Todd?
That is true.
Hey, we had a good time in Oshkosh yesterday.
I'm
just going to say that.
I was thinking last night, why do we like going there so much?
Well, I mean, it's great.
It's part of our listening audience.
But, oh, nice to
us.
Like, we had the president of the chamber on, or the lady who works for the chamber.
And she's a pistol.
She's
awesome.
Connie
is awesome.
She's awesome.
We're doing this small business spotlight.
And she texted me last night, I have some businesses for you.
Like, they want to help us.
Whereas I think sometimes we get people on here and they kind of leave.
I just thought that was...
Really nice and she's busy.
I mean she's got a lot going on her plate and then for Pat Well, that was last time but to give us a tour.
I mean, I don't know that we've had that here.
Although
we know I'll tell you what They knocked themselves
out
the lady that runs that Christine and program.
She's holy cow.
I mean that's like serious serious stuff It is
but look how well she's doing.
Yeah, I mean it's you know building one building to another building and then she's regional She's in two other markets and she's all in on that and that's such an important that
domestic abuse.
Well, I would love to sit one on one with that hypnotist though sometime to learn a little bit more about that.
Wouldn't you?
No.
No?
He was intimidating kind of.
He was.
that slow, deep
voice.
It's like, hmm.
Yeah.
He had, he had your number.
Yeah.
He did.
He did.
Yeah.
We probably all did.
I know the joke, but we probably all did at some point yesterday, stop and start collecting like chickens.
Part of it's his voice.
Right.
You
know what I mean?
He said, you know, he thought you guys were funny.
He goes, I just have a really dry sense of humor.
I said, you do.
Yeah.
It's very dry.
Yeah.
But he was great.
Yeah.
He
was a lot of fun.
And it was cool that we talked about
who he helps and he really, when you ask them about athletes, he can
lean over that.
Yeah, big
time.
Yeah, that's pretty
cool.
Well, they need it as much as anybody.
They really do.
I mean, that's such a, you know, your failures aren't hidden someplace.
You know, you don't get a test result at all.
I just crap and throw away.
I
would probably think there'd be a line of golfers.
Oh, they, trust me, they do.
They got mental coaches.
Oh, I would bet.
They call them attitude coaches, a lot of them.
Yeah.
Oh, that's a big thing now.
Well, you see it sometimes.
If you go to a pack or game early, um, I don't think it's Jordan Love.
I'm trying to think who it was.
Somebody help me out.
He would always have his back to the goalpost.
They have headphones on and sunglasses and he'd be doing that.
He'd be visualizing everything that's going to happen.
And that's a real big thing with those.
Oh, yeah.
The positive thoughts get rid of the negative thoughts.
So I'm going to start doing that for the show.
There you go.
I've
come down here to have his glasses on.
What?
What's up?
He said I'm gonna start doing that now for this show.
Or
you could get here a little bit early and read the show prep stuff, but you do whatever works for you, John, because you're a great host.
White change
now.
Some other ones.
Here we go.
Contest.
Mine on the Mare.
Two mikes, no filters.
I like that.
Mine on the Mare.
Second to none.
Well, except for that other one show.
That's not bad.
Mine
On The
Bear, 6 AM shenanigans, 9 AM regrets.
I like that one.
That's a bad idea.
Mine On The Bear, the best show you didn't vote for.
OK.
All right.
Mine On The Bear, second place, but first in SAS.
All right.
Keep them coming, people.
Big prize package.
It is Friday.
Can I get it?
I don't know where this is from.
Todd?
Wait, listen, people.
Todd weighs no music without a reason behind
it.
Some kind of connection.
I don't
know.
Brian
sent this.
It's Mr. T. Oh, is it really?
Yeah, he said, would you please play this tomorrow morning?
So.
This is
Mr. T. There you go.
That's Mr. T. Yeah.
Always for the oven with the burning heat.
When she stood
making sure I
had something to eat.
I used
to dance this all the time.
I bet you did.
All the time.
And your biker shorts.
Yes.
Actually, I had
them on yesterday walking around my apartment.
Start a fire.
Maybe.
OK.
Happy Friday to you.
It is 36 degrees.
It's only 36.
Yeah.
36 degrees in Green Bay.
Appleton is 41.
36 in Oshkosh.
I'll tell you, the wind.
I'm 127 years old, maybe I just figured this out.
Not much.
Like
today feels nice out there.
Yesterday felt freezing cold and it was 30 degrees more.
That wind coming off the water here makes such a difference.
It's mind boggling.
Yep.
Even like I saw Manitowoc high today of like 60 and like 80, 20 miles inland.
Yeah.
No, the water guys, the lake.
Absolutely.
Um, forecast thing.
Hi.
of the low 70s, which is perfect.
It is military spouse appreciation day.
I could go on and on and on
and on
how important the spouse is.
And I'm saying both ways.
You know, when I mentioned nurse the other day, right away, you conjure up the nurse in the old fashioned white scrubs type of thing or whatever.
And so many men are nurses now.
But same thing, military spouse appreciation day.
I know a lot of guys, they are the spouse of a
their wives being in the military and boy, what they do too is so vital, so amazingly vital, can't even put into words how important the spouse of somebody in the military
is.
And that's a tough life.
I mean, they're not only in danger, but they're gone.
And then they come back and sometimes that's different.
But how about Nicole Stockton
from UW Green
Bay runs a veteran services.
I mean, she'd get a phone call.
Hey, you pack up or move to Japan.
You know what I mean?
It's just like what the behind-the-scenes part, you know the people in uniform We're all adoration whatever whatever right and we don't spot like the ones behind
the scenes and I'm sure there's a lot of discussion.
Oh We need to be back.
Oh, no you're coming with me all the
credit in the world man.
It's also muskato day a little too sweet,
huh sweet wine
sweet sweet wine um Child care provider day.
God bless them too, man.
That's nice
God bless them.
Yeah.
Uh, lost sock memorial day.
Look, how do you celebrate that?
I actually took out a box.
I searched.
I took out a box yesterday.
I dumped the whole thing out all over my bed, trying to find matching socks.
Well, why don't you match them and take them
out of the
dryer?
Today is... Why would you... Okay, that's... You'd be a little bit more proactive than that.
What if you're in a hurry?
I was.
Well, that's why they don't match.
Makes sense.
Butterscotch.
Oh, you know where I stopped yesterday?
Vintage Rose.
Yeah, good.
Don't go in there hungry.
No, you're right.
You're right.
I agree.
Their
desserts.
They had the peanut butter cream bars.
They had the chocolate crack bars.
They had these are these
carrot cake with the thick frosting.
That is good
carrot cake.
And you're
standing, and I did that impulsive thing.
Oh, you
study this.
And they got that glass case.
It's right there.
And they put those, I think those lights.
They
put it right in front
of you.
You can't miss it.
You can't miss it.
And they put the lights on there.
Right on the lights all over.
It's like, yeah.
It's right there.
I'll take one of those.
You can't.
You
know, I actually think about you sometimes when I shop, because I can never find anything when I go to grocery store.
But you mentioned something about the difference between the center aisles.
Oh, stay
away.
Stay
in the perimeter.
Absolutely.
Just do it.
Discipline, just do it.
Don't go down those aisles, John.
Then when you get to the checkout and they got those other things.
Yep.
Don't take that lane.
You have to go to self-checkout.
You go through those lanes and the candy and chips and whatever that.
But that's what vintage rose does to you.
They got it
right in your face.
These
big peanut butter cream bars and stuff.
That care cake.
I didn't have that other stuff you're talking about, but that care cake I had there.
I had the Italian stallion sandwich.
Oh, very
nice.
Very nice.
Morning.
Morning, Adam, by the way, I know.
They were sitting yesterday, saying, Mike, I'll tell us again that sandwich you were talking about yesterday.
We'll make you one.
Remember I was talking about my avocado sandwich?
Oh, yeah.
Yes.
Yeah, they're creative.
They're not, yeah.
Do you stock your way back
from Appleton?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I had the discipline to drive right home.
I'll be honest with you.
It's one of those things.
I'm hungry.
Didn't really eat down there, you know, coming back.
And there's that Schring Road exit and you
get that
little thing, you know, not even just why am I excited?
Oh, I know why.
I'm sorry.
Oh, their stuff is good.
So I look at my dad, who's a veteran.
I took my dad, who's a veteran to the Daddy D's production show last night at the Riverside Ballroom, highly recommended.
If you can go to the last show tonight, Chad.
Yeah.
And that
is, I've been, I haven't been to this at this time, but I've been to that before.
And she's put, in those guys who are just our guests, Teresa or something, Daddy D and Kevin.
That is a great, great show.
I'm glad Chad liked it.
And your dad, I think that's- How can
you miss with that group and those songs?
I can see what they're just knocked right out of the picture.
And I think that's cool that he took his dad.
Those are the things that you can take your parents to or, I don't know, old, but kids to as well.
That's just a great clean.
I don't know.
I
don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Wasn't one of those guys that like goes overly nice so people would say he's a nice guy
Yeah,
some people are just genuine.
Yeah,
he's a real deal.
He was one of those guys
nice guy
70
That's young.
How do you young?
Oh my god.
I don't know
Wow
I Mean laugh.
I was gonna throw it a dad joke like you throw yesterday.
Is whatever I'm not a dad Whatever I asked my
dad.
How did a guy die?
He'd also the same thing stop breathing
Prince Fielder 41.
Billy Joel
76.
Candice Bergen 79.
Tommy Rove.
I'm so dizzy.
Oh wow.
I don't play that to be in our head all
day.
All right, don't forget coming up this morning after seven o'clock, your chance to play with a free ticket Friday here on the Civic Media Radio Network.
After seven o'clock, John and Jim will give you that hour's keyword.
You text that in using the Civic Media app.
Download that now wherever you get your apps.
Get ready to text in this morning after seven o'clock for your shot to win a four pack of tickets for Brewers Baseball in Milwaukee.
You'll have a chance to play all day long.
Once again, John Minow and Jim Schmidt.
Hey, welcome back.
Good looking Friday morning.
Are you kidding me?
A little chilly out there right now, but man, it's going to be beautiful this afternoon.
And I'm sure that water, I mean, that sunlight is coming off the water in Oshkosh and the boats are heading out.
That was, I, Lisa's
going to give you a new name
this morning.
Yeah.
What's my new name?
Your new name is Lisa headroom.
Can you drop that camera down just a little bit for our listeners?
What was the big deal yesterday?
Every time there was a picture being taken, Todd would yell at you.
Don't forget
that.
Because when I take pictures, I give too much room above.
OK.
And he wants me to bring it in and focus in a little bit more.
Got it.
John, you've been on TV.
You know, there are certain things you want to
be trained, right?
I got to back up on something here.
They're into Fanta totally.
Yeah.
I'm going to tell you why.
because those poor, I don't say kids, I don't know how old you were, they'd bring these kids into the TV studios, okay?
And you got this big newscast and it could be, you know, Chuck Ramsey and Mary Smith and so, you know, all the big timers and you got some 19 year old kid who's never been a TV studio before and he's trying to host these cameras that are
the
size of a sequoia and move them around and get those perfect shots.
And trust me, we used to be able to hear it just through our things on the set during a break.
And they'd be screaming at those guys gotta hate to say kids with these young we were absolutely screamed at for all that shot was framed on the anchors head
and Lisa's actually a very good photographer She's done some really great pictures for me But for some reason she loves the headroom
And now in my defense Todd that goes back to why I'm a good photographer because
I will allow myself cropping room.
Uh-huh.
So I can crop it to the size that I want it.
And it's just a habit I got into when I took photos.
All right, we'll fix that habit.
Well, no, that's, you gotta admit,
when it
comes, when you take, that's one of the easiest, most effective things you can do.
Just hit that crop button and get out what you don't want.
I would agree with her.
Just get the picture.
Don't cut it off.
You can't add to it.
You know, I mean, isn't that great when somebody shows
you something like that?
Like, okay, so I went to the oil place yesterday.
Okay, Todd, just to let you again, once again with the key Mike here.
Yeah.
Had it completely filled up.
Yeah.
1500 miles ago.
Okay.
Stop didn't yesterday get a top dog.
They get that great deal with that five minute oil change.
We'll top it off for you in between oil changes.
Okay.
There was no oil showing on the dipstick in 1500 miles after having a full thing.
Well,
you've got a leak somewhere, dude.
It's the key.
It's it's a thing.
They had a warranty on it when I bought it.
It was past the warranty and it just,
yeah, that's what happened to mine.
It's an oil pressure problem with those car.
Yeah.
It had a default.
And so now, but only 1500 miles and it showed zero oil.
Wow.
Dude, that's not good.
Do you
like
it?
Do you like come on?
No, I don't have.
Oh, but here's.
So here's the deal.
This is what I was getting at.
This one when you learn
windows, electric windows.
Electric windows one doesn't work, but that's okay.
Whatever.
But anyway, um, I got duct taped off But anyway, so anyway, so I asked the kid I said hey, I've never seen this little icon show up on a dashboard before it was like this triangle It's almost like remember the old were technical
Yeah,
okay that showed up so here.
Oh, let me take a look if you don't mind and he reaches in and he Pushes some buttons right by like the cruise and all this stuff shows up headlights so and so
I didn't know that existed.
Yeah, tire pressure.
That's cool.
Yeah, you know what it
was?
It was that I had a headlight out.
Oh.
But didn't show a headlight.
Just showed warning.
That there was
a warning.
So you had to go to the warning
page.
Yeah, you got to go through it.
You got to scroll
through it.
You could scroll through.
But you're out of oil and it doesn't warn you?
Uh-uh.
Isn't that bizarre?
I'd rather have oil.
Yeah, I would rather have oil than a headlight.
I
know.
The check engine light was on,
but...
So you're one of those people that drives around with the check engine light on and goes, ah, that's nothing to worry about.
People say, why is that on?
That's always on.
It's merely
a
suggestion.
That's
to have extra lighting on the dash.
I want to make an announcement to our listeners.
If you're listening, thinking this is some sort of car talk or we're going to give you advice on cars, do not listen to
anything
we
say.
Beat us out.
Just Nancy just sent in the mine on the mayor tagline.
It fits with what we're doing.
On a ramp and off the rail.
It fits the subject.
Hi, Lisa.
Hey, how are you?
I'm fine.
How are you?
Excellent.
We
sure enjoyed yesterday.
Yeah.
We love coming down to Oshkosh and good time.
Actually,
after we
left there, you know what we did?
What'd you do?
We spent the rest of the day planting trees.
We were there five minutes.
Nice.
Nobody knows that, Jim.
I'm sorry.
What was that Lisa?
I said, you were working with new leaf and planting.
No,
no, no.
This
is what happened.
Yeah.
Different organization in Appleton
with
Babs.
Or
the app.
What's it
called?
We plant trees all over Northeast Wisconsin.
Yes.
Yes.
So that's great.
They
are the Johnny
Apples.
Yeah, that's right.
They were just a little embarrassing one part.
We're at we're getting wrapped wrap up Jim.
What's hey?
Hey, what are you gonna do with those extras?
I'm putting in an orchard for my grandkids.
You didn't know I Didn't but it was it's amazing what they do in a day.
I have a feeling you
were okay when you were watching people plant I had a feeling you were thinking that I bet I could do this in my backyard
I was really thinking, can they do this
in my backpack?
They were pretty efficient, right?
We're supposed to put on our, for the person that took the pictures of us, we need to give a photo credit.
She wanted that.
Yeah,
well you
make sure.
Least
on grass.
Lee did that?
Yeah, she did.
I will make sure to do that.
Yeah, she took the pictures and the mayor was there, he was, you know, he had the...
thing that goes over the pool that you pounded down.
That guy was working.
I know, I grabbed the rake.
And at least when you see the pictures, they're in the photo drop, by the way, if you want to see them.
They're standing there by a tree.
And I said, and I said in the
chat, I said, well, at least Jim's got some dirt on his shovel,
you
know, as he's standing there
in his wind tip shoes.
I thought we were supposed to pose.
I was just taking
a
break.
Yeah.
That was fun.
They're super nice people.
They're nice, nice people.
Great time.
Yeah.
Well,
now that you two knows how to plant trees, please come to my house and plant me an apple tree.
I've always wanted.
I have
never planted a tree.
I swear that didn't die.
I'm not even joking.
Those were apple trees we planted.
Okay.
You don't want me,
Lisa.
Crab apple
or the crab
apple.
I want a real apple tree.
I want an apple tree that's going to drop fruit.
Well, I think that takes well, Lisa.
I know, I know.
But you know, here I can't.
plant a pecan tree up here.
It just won't do well.
So an apple tree is the second best thing to me.
When you guys lived in Arizona, Arizona, when you lived in Mississippi or Louisiana or something like that, I mean, like, could you literally grow like peaches and go into your backyard and grab one and eat it the way we could do an
apple here?
Yeah, that's cool.
Oh my God.
Yes, peaches were.
Yes.
As a matter of fact, in the.
Rustin, Louisiana, they have a peach fest every year.
Peaches are huge in the south because the temperature is perfect for them.
And if I mean, okay, you'd be the only type of person that actually tasted what a real peach could taste like versus by the time it's picked, put on a truck, brought up here,
you know, whatever.
If you drive around Atlanta, out in the sticks, they have
Uh, peach stands next to pecan stands, but when
I'm saying,
yeah, those are really, really good.
Yeah.
Okay.
We were
in Louisiana and we stopped at a place and we, like I said, it was over the only, only over.
We also bought boiled peanuts, which I didn't quite
get those either,
but they had peaches and it's like, it's just, you talk about melting just like, so juicy and so much flavor for something, you know, after it's picked and yada, yada.
So
that would be cool to
have down there, man.
But
anytime that you get locally sourced,
fruits in the area that they're supposed to grow in.
For example, up here, we do apples very well down there.
No, apples wouldn't do so well down there because it's too flippin' hot.
Or cranberries from here, you know, aren't gonna taste the same as if you buy them down there.
So it's all about where they're at.
That's that
whole farm to table fresh fruit.
better because you're not transporting them.
There's
a whole
lot
of reasons to that, but we still, though, how many avocados come from out of the country?
Isn't it like 80% or something?
Anyway, we're not there yet.
Well, think about coffee.
Coffee needs those tropical temperatures, too, to grow.
And it comes mainly from Brazil and, you know, downtown.
Love
that.
All
right.
So
let's go down, Lisa Hale.
Oh, well new whisko weekend is coming up on saturday and sunday and this weekend we are focusing on mother's day We've got so much mother's day stuff.
We've got a fantastic feature story from terry bar on madison malone and motherhood and she sings You've got to hear it because there's a wonderful lullaby Um, we've got our commentator amanda nimmer telling us what moms really want for mother's day
And she hits the nail right on the head.
I'll tell you that.
I don't think that's a big
secret, but
yeah.
She
wants to
keep all the, keep all the stuff.
Just give me
some space.
Yeah.
That's it.
And you know, I have been asked, I have a son and he asks me like once, once a day.
So for the weeks leading up to Mother's Day, what do you want for Mother's Day?
peace and quiet in a clean house.
That's all I want that I don't have to do.
Please.
Yeah.
Well, we asked for an apology.
That's my dad.
Dad, we're supposed to give good children.
Well, sorry, can't provide that.
Sorry, dad.
What was your second?
What would you like?
What's next?
Yeah.
You
know what our family tradition was?
We'd go fishing and my mom would go to this place and my dad and I would fish and my mom would dig up dandelions, collect dandelions, the dandelion greens.
On this big hillside where we fished.
Yeah, and that's how we spent Mother's Day And we have a picnic and that was I've been for ten years.
We did that
probably for cooking Jim.
Oh shit for salads Oh deadline greens.
Yep.
Are good for sounds.
Yeah.
Oh, they're phenomenal And they're so healthy for you.
It's unbelievable But you'd have to find these almost like meadows where you'd find like a lot of them, but your mom relax
She relaxed doing that.
Oh my gosh.
She loved it,
right?
That's
you gotta do see what they wouldn't love to do.
It was perfect
We had a great
time.
I just picked dandelions for my mom, you know, just to bring her a bouquet of dandelions.
Oh,
yeah.
Yeah.
And of course, you know, dandelions stain the, the stem stuff will stain.
It'll leave little stains.
Oh, really?
I never know
that.
So she was not happy.
She never complained to me.
So
she was never happy because I would stain my shirts with all these little.
Danny I didn't know that
got texture apples need a pollinator.
Therefore, you must plan two types of apples.
Oh, we're all about the pollination here.
Oh, yes, we totally understand that.
Study that.
And we got text here.
If anybody knows about photo ops, it's Jim.
I was pretty honest with him.
I'm like, look, can I borrow that shovel?
And would you take a picture?
Yeah, OK, OK,
I'll
get it out of here.
That
sounds about right, doesn't it?
So that's
Saturday at 8, Sundays at 11, New Iska weekend.
And then on Sundays at 1 o'clock on WGBW, it's Lean Local with Jim Schmidt.
And what do you have this
weekend?
A little different than Mother's Day.
I interviewed Brian Johnson, who is not only the president of the Green Bay City Council, he also is the director of the On Broadway District.
I think they both could be doing a little bit better.
And after the show, I thought,
Was I kind enough?
And I think I was, but you just don't want to talk about stuff you agree on all the time, right?
And it's like, where is this?
How come this hasn't happened?
So it was great.
I mean, and he was just a great guest to have.
And I'm going to get him back because there's just a lot of things that are, how would you say that?
In transition right now.
And
I want to see him through.
So, I want him to see them too.
Anyway, it was great.
It was a good conversation.
It was not a Mother's Day thing, though.
I'll tell you that.
It was a little bit more bricks and mortar, but it was great.
He's a good guy, and it was a good interview.
So, yeah.
Well, let's say, can you stick around?
Or do you have to do the other show?
Sure.
Well, I have to do stuff, but I'll stick around.
All right, we're going to go
over some of the great things you got going on.
OK.
Let's say, back up, Chris.
It's going to be in the 70s today.
A beautiful weekend coming up.
Forecast looks great next week.
And we were talking at least when we were in Oshkosh yesterday.
Not to belabor the point, but what a beautiful setting you got sitting there.
The sun was coming up.
Bolts were heading out in the water.
People were allowing the banks out there, like seven o'clock fishing.
That's just the thing, you've got that senior citizen home and the big cylinder kind of building there that, and it's like, what a beautiful view for the seniors living upstairs.
They're overlooking this beautiful body of water with everybody going out to fish.
I would imagine their host didn't have that same view.
I mean, that's a beautiful view.
You gotta move.
I don't want to move.
It's like a penthouse view.
What I liked about I didn't get to
love you, but give me Park Avenue.
Right.
Well, I liked about green.
I guess.
Lisa's green.
I
know.
I know.
They're they're river banks are green.
Yeah.
That's how green that grass was.
I don't think we have.
I just really stood out to me.
It's like, holy mackerel, that the water looks so much nicer when it's up against green versus brown.
I mean, it's a
beautiful setting.
That
was a good
setting.
I would
want to do what he told us about yesterday, what Pat Tracy told us about.
Have you done that, Lisa?
Have
I done
what?
The tiki thing?
Go drink for four hours on the water.
I mean, I go on a boat ride for four hours.
But you bring your own.
You bring your own.
Bring
your own.
That's not
like so much fun.
There's a lot of fun things to do in this town.
Oh my gosh.
I love Oshkosh.
You would have to pay me so much to move out of this city.
It's not even fun.
Well,
we pay a lot up here.
So let's talk.
No, you don't.
Wow Wow Well,
not only are we talking about Madison Malone and motherhood with her lovely lullaby to start it off We have dr. Kristen Lyrely is our cover story this week She's gonna talk about the physical and emotional
changes that motherhood takes on your body how it affects because I mean we all talk about motherhood and the sacrifices that moms make to make their kids happy and yada yada blah blah but we never talk about the actual physical changes motherhood does and so we talk a little bit about that in our cover story it's really
Really interesting
John should listen to that because I'm sure he'll get all woozy when he hears some of the terminology and stuff
like that, right?
Were you in the delivery room, I bet you weren't let's put it this way
God, I can't believe this.
I can't believe this.
When my kids were born, it was the same way as when you went parachute jumping.
Might as well have been at night because my eyes were closed.
All right, all right, I'll give you that.
I'll say this.
When my sister gave birth to my nephew, I was there.
And the little, the little three year old.
Nephew Jacob came in right afterwards and he looked at his mother and he goes.
Are you through yet?
This is gross.
I under
the same
words.
Wow.
Are you through yet?
What else that
go down, Lisa?
Because by the way, if you have anybody anything by Brittany, we got a memo from her.
Did you get that?
Yeah.
It was noticed throughout all of civic media.
You didn't see that.
Nope.
No, I read that stuff.
Why did you?
Okay, come on.
Well, I just said notice from here on out
I prefer to be referred to as award-winning.
Brittany.
Yeah.
Journalist.
Brittany.
Merleau.
I did see that.
Yeah.
No, she's three Pete.
Brittany
is what we're talking about.
Three Pete because she got three first.
That's cool.
Yeah, I prefer to as three Pete Merleau.
Yeah.
Well, we do have a little something from Brittany as a matter of fact.
She does a great story on travel tourism here in the state.
So we've got that.
And next week, she's going to tell us about cranberries and how Wisconsin does cranberries.
I almost drowned in a cranberry bog one time.
They
never would have found me.
They never would have found me.
Nope.
Ever.
What happened to Mino?
Completely disappeared off the face of the earth.
Nobody knows.
It'd be like
a Jimmy Hoffa
thing.
What you're saying is I should replace alligator farms with cranberry bogs when I'm planning on disposing a body.
Absolutely.
Because you can just step off that and you go down to like oblivion.
Whereas Mike Tyson said because I'm gonna get fed away to a Bolivia
And
Jim Schmidt
He's a
guy in class the teachers would be like Jim
We're disappointed that you would be,
I
didn't
do it sister,
I didn't do it.
But you're hanging out with the wrong people.
They were literally in the studio this morning, passing notes back and forth because they didn't want to talk about it on
the
air.
It was funny, it
was funny.
Y'all, y'all may be old white guys.
At heart, you're both 12 years old.
Thank
you.
There we go.
I believe.
But we are definitely
still
white.
I have heard that.
So what are you doing?
What are you doing for Mother's Day?
Me?
Yes, you.
Well, you're
the only one
that gets.
Well, no, Todd, what are you doing?
What are you
doing?
What do you think?
I'm not going to do anything.
Good.
My entire family knows that.
I'm not.
But there's some free stuff like at the Pain Art Museum.
Remember you talked about the flowers that you can go see there.
And you know, here at the Botanical Gardens, it's free from others.
There's some stuff that if you want to do, you could do.
But you just chill at home with your
trance.
I'm probably going to stay in my craft room and hide from everybody.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Whatever you want.
I mean, it's your day.
That's the only day that I can get out of 364.
It's our day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Make the most
of
it.
One thing that Amanda may point that Amanda makes in her commentary in New Wisco weekend this week is that moms are constantly Climbed on touched talked to they have to put their hands on every decision in the household They are for all intents and purposes the CEOs of the household, but they're also the physical
Yeah, yeah, you're right.
No right.
No one's arguing here.
None whatsoever.
No, we, we, we get it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Lisa,
give your, give Newisco weekend a plug.
Newisco weekend, Saturdays at 8, Sundays at 11 on WGBW and WISS.
Check it out on the Civic Media app as well.
All right.
You're the best, Lisa.
Congratulations to have a wonderful Mother's Day.
Thank you.
You bet.
Thanks for hospitality
yesterday.
See ya.
We're going to set a break.

Yeah,
anybody's
mom's out there.
Sure.
We'll do this.
Let us know.
Just text in.
We'll make sure we do a shout out.
I will also say this.
We kind of missed a happy birthday yesterday, Nikki.
And I'm wondering if you might.
Yeah.
The mic is open.
No,
that's what we missed it.
She listening.
She may be.
Hey, this birthday salutation goes out to one of her good friends from a great athlete at West Depear High School, professional baseball and all points in between.
Nikki Z.
This is for you.
Happy birthday to you.
Long rendition.
Happy now, right?
Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday.
Happy birthday, Nikki.
See, Nikki.
That was memorable.
For all the other
ladies out there.
That could
be for you.
That could be
for you.
John, it's my wife's birthday tomorrow.
Happy birthday, Anne.
I'll just say that.
You don't need your signature.
No, no, no.
We got time.
No, what?
No.
No, out of time.
Bella, help me pay for it.
We got time.
Look at the time.
And happy birth, or excuse me, happy mother's day to my wife and my mother this weekend.
It's always been a fun weekend.
Yes.
And all the mothers out there.
What did
you, Chris, she's not your mother, but what did you buy your son to give your wife?
Like for mother's day, like what do you, did you do something?
You doing botanical gardens?
Or are you doing something that's, when these freebies are out there?
We
did
we didn't do anything yet, but yeah, I think she wants to maybe go out for brunch.
Yes.
Yes,
I looked at things and No, it's gonna be a great week in great weather you can get outside and right enjoy it
My wife loves working in the garden, so I'm getting her some new equipment.
Ooh.
Like, okay, like what?
Well, she... Is that good?
Those, like, those... I got your speed.
No, those pretty shoes that are, like, big.
Oh, okay.
Not just those little ones in your hand.
Yeah, those are good.
I know.
She wants one of those.
You take it on the trees with those?
She's probably listening.
That's what I'm gonna get you, honey.
I'm going there, and there's something else she said she wanted, but gardening stuff.
Yeah.
And I don't, like, doing that, but I know what she wants, so I'll just, you know, I don't know.
Monards or something.
Go pick it up.
That's what I'm...
Okay,
let me
ask you this so your daughters are full grown or they're grown-ups or whatever you know And your son's still young enough.
He doesn't have a job type of thing.
Nope.
Okay at what point does the dad Not do stuff for the kid to do stuff for the mom where the kid wants to say you know what?
I'm, I'm good.
I got this taken care of dad.
I'm good.
You know what I mean?
Like Dom's got more money than me.
So I've been told Julia said she doesn't have a sugar daddy.
She has a sugar son because you know, he'll take her to Kohler and you know, go
in
those champagne brunches and whatever, whatever.
At what point, like what your daughters did you, you know, did it was like, they were happy.
It's like, I'm going to do this on my own.
I don't know if I'm there yet.
I mean, I've always financed it
with the
doctor My kids all make more than I do.
I mean that that's That took a little that's weird that your kids make more than you but you that's the way the world and I'm glad it's that way, right?
I mean it wasn't I don't think that's pretty good question, but even in high school I did finance that I just want to tell you that they yeah, but they went and picked out the gifts.
Yeah
All right.
So there's got to be a time when your son picks it out.
You don't pick it out and give it to him as he gives it to your mother.
No, he actually had some good ideas.
All right, that's cool.
Yeah, I won't say what it is because I still have to pick it up.
But we did.
Yeah, there's some good ideas.
Yes.
He's creative.
If they have the ideas right, but you're still picking up the tab, as you should.
No.
Tell
him to grab his money.
He's he's selling stuff left over from the draft.
That's right.
Did you see that or that they're doing that?
No, there's this huge auction with stuff left over from the draft.
Well, it's true story.
I mean, I think it's an auction house.
They must have had a contract with with stuff.
Although, was it you telling me?
Who is it telling us, Jim?
Somebody on here about at the green room, their work in the green room.
And like after like some of their kids were picked, they're walking out with like pillows and stuff
from the green room.
Memory.
Well, I saw one of the draft picks.
It was funny because I saw a draft pick that said 2025 NFL Draft and they had him flying the team.
The mom was carrying one of the pills, getting on the plane and stuff, and I'm thinking, well, I guess that stuff left.
But the stuff is discounted a little bit because the front of mine went and bought a hat.
I've had about
six people from
on the
air.
Like a hoodie or something.
It's not that much discounted.
Yeah, I thought it'd be discounted like 50%.
It was like, I don't know, 10 bucks off, but maybe 40 to 30.
I guess that's significant.
But anyway, there's, they're discounting that stuff, but it's not a fire sale.
I think it's
30% down right now.
That's not bad.
That's not bad.
It's not
bad.
Yeah.
The look on Jim's face while John sang Happy Birthday was priceless.
Great job, John.
You could sing to me any day, Vicki.
All right, and this is my first time on our congratulations to you guys for your
Um, yes, it's second place.
I didn't even know this was a radio show.
I thought this was just hanging out every Friday.
So congratulations.
Well,
you should congratulate yourself.
You're part of it.
You are.
No, this is this.
But you know, it's all the listeners and everyone that this has been wonderful the last couple of years.
Um, I think you guys have done a great job.
Thank you, Mark.
But our taglines, we're asking for a tagline with my name here.
No one has said, um, at the end of the day,
we're announcing a winner,
but no one has said.
mind on the mayor informing us about things going on in the local community.
I haven't heard, I've seen that one.
Mine
on the mayor, more information in three hours.
On the
local
community, bringing in the guests to elevate their non-profits, none of that.
It's all off the rails.
They are, they're snarky.
That's a good word for it.
Great for your listeners.
Maybe
I'm one of them.
As long as they're
happy.
You guys are informed if you're entertaining your so-so.
Oh, wait a minute.
That was the guys that beat you.
That's what we get.
So the ball is
still open, the contest is still open.
Mine are the mayor, building the blanks.
$25 gift certificate going to somebody.
There you go.
So buddy, you, I mean the old term about drinking of a fire host for about two months, you were that guy and you almost look more relaxed now.
then I'll tell you what, the night of the draft, I've never seen you look stressed before.
When you're walking with a walkie-talkie, it's like, what do you mean a bus got an accent?
What do I mean?
And you had everybody coming up and asking you things to the point where I'm like, hey, I don't want to wait in this line.
You get us a beer.
I
mean,
you look stressed
that night.
And you honestly look more relaxed right now than you have for a while.
Yeah, I think I slept better in the last week.
Well, you're sleeping in your office, right?
Yeah, and even that next week, I struggled with sleep.
I think everyone did.
This is a huge event for, you know, the NFL draft was huge.
And what a great, it was a great opportunity.
John and I were just talking before, and I don't know if I'd want to do it every year.
That'd be, that'd take, I think every year you get better because you now know what you're going to do.
Totally agree.
I think that was the biggest thing that every community could not agree more.
If you have not done it, you don't know what to expect.
It's the...
You have to pivot you have to change things
Yeah Everything went very well.
I mean just I don't know how you would rate it ABCD From your vision, but you know the chief of course put in a because there's only one arrest 600,000, you know 200,000 people a day
I just, what's next?
I just, when I talked to a guy yesterday, Brian Johnson was actually on this lean local.
Okay, so we did that and it was successful, right?
I mean, probably the lowest grade is going to be a C plus, B minus, right?
Everything was pretty good.
So now what?
We're not going to get the draft for at least another 10 years, if then.
So what are we going to do?
We got
You following this concert series that's going on in Wisconsin, you know summer fest they just they own it But then Harley-Davidson is picking up these as concerts and now Camp Randall.
Do you see their lineup?
And I hope we can turn this into something for Lambo to get I'm talking about the stones and something
though.
I think it'd be awesome I think it that's we can do it.
I think it showed everyone that you know what we can do it You know you can put on these events.
I think the other thing is though It's to remind people looking right out here on the you know on the deck or
Conscious stuff that's down here 4th of July.
There's so many different events that we put on right when I say we that the community put part of it But I mean it's the whole community and that includes though not just Green Bay.
That's Appleton.
That's Marinette There are so many things so just to get out and and check out you know some of these activities Especially when we get warm weather
Yeah, I wouldn't say one thing about that too.
It's like, okay, like it seemed like everybody's so overly concerned about where park where to drive to and it's like 99% of people I know run.
It's like, we got this is not fine.
We're fine.
We're fine.
We know where to go.
We know all the roads.
We know every
place to
park.
We're fine.
Parking wasn't honestly, I don't think parking was a issue.
Right.
People were expecting to
walk.
It's going to be interesting to see the cost on this.
I asked him yesterday about that.
I mean, there was some money put into public safety and DPW.
And we have the DPW coming on.
But with all that said, we can do this.
So let's do it again.
Well, the draft's not coming for 10 years.
Well, there's other draft type events out there.
I mean, you look at what Oshkosh does with the EAA, what Appleton does with the Myla music.
And we host the Packers 10 times, which I think is great.
But I just think there's a big, big event we could get here, maybe two or three, because we can do it.
Yeah, I might own the mayor, maybe.
Absolutely.
Put a
concert with that doing all
that.
Oh, by the
way,
Todd.
I got an email from Vicky from a Chamber of Commerce in Oshkosh.
No.
No, not Vicky.
Oh,
not
Vicky.
Yep.
Connie.
Connie.
Yep.
She's talking to the guy to get me
to
introduce George Thurowgood at Waterfest.
Don't hold
your
breath on that.
Baddle the boat.
What do you think?
Don't hold your breath
on
that.
I might even be on stage with him singing a little bit.
I'll drink alone Until
until the police come in drag you on
baby.
Yeah Wow, I'm excited about that
me and
George hanging out together
at my boat.
It hasn't been confirmed It's just an idea right.
She's just want to
get him off the phone Okay, I'll look at it and he takes that is I'm on wow.
Yes Wow Hey mark I got to be honest with you the other day I walked here on the on the track and everything like that There's something about okay, so yesterday's on the treadmill except wind was like 90 miles an hour here
the treadmill seemed twice as long than walking out.
There's something
about when the
weather is nice and you're how much further you can go versus inside.
Is it
mentally some kind of, what is it?
I think it is.
I think sometimes, you know, that's why people put on a TV or radio show or listen to a podcast.
Just because, yeah, nice out, but even during the middle of winter.
Man, it's just had to get two miles in.
That's what I mean.
You're in the
trouble.
You're just looking at the thing.
How much further?
How much
further?
And when I walk in that nice day, it's like, I don't want to stop.
And I need to get back doing it.
But, you know, I would do my nightly walks last year.
And I tell you what, I'd love, honestly, just checking out different people's homes or seeing what's in the neighborhood.
I mean, I think that's what your mind gets off things, where if you're in a room and you're seeing the same thing or the dog sitting there or, you know, TV's not on.
And driving by is one thing, but walking by is
a totally different view.
It's unbelievable.
Just the different things you see of neighbors or just waving or whatever it
is.
I've got a great neighborhood to walk around in, too.
And I just need to do that more.
But it's just a different.
Here's another thing.
We have this trail.
I'll just bring it up.
We have this trail.
It's amazing how much people don't know about the trail in town.
So, so, so, so.
beautiful Friday morning, 97.9 FM, WGBW 98.3, 96.5 FM.
WISS and, of course, Pacific Media, along with 1100 AM and 1590 AM.
Forecast sunny high in the low 70s.
Today looks like a great weekend coming up.
Once again, birthday wise, Prince Fielder is 41.
Billy Joel is 76, Candace Bergen's 79, Tommy Rowe is 83, it is free ticket Friday, which is a very cool event we've got going on here right now.
Mark Cusin in the house from Bellin Sports, Madison.
What is going on, Mark?
Let's talk about some kid sports.
Yeah, you know, I think the one thing I was just gonna talk about, someone, a few people brought it up.
John, you talked about, you know, hey, nice weather's come out in the last couple weeks, but it's gotten a little bit cooler.
On some days, you know yesterday winds were blowing and it really wasn't that warm and some people ask about you know, what should my kid be wearing for sports, you know and baseball softball and track I think the biggest thing to remember is it may be beautiful at noon or two o'clock But what's it like at 435 36 30 when your kid needs to be playing out in the field?
And you know, it's great to have a t-shirt on but Think of your kid stand the outfield or think of your kids at a track meet and not have you know, so it's it's one of those things being prepared, you know, it's
Today's supposed to be a beautiful day.
I think high of 77.
But what's going to be like at 6.30 if you're standing there, track me.
Making sure you have extra sweats, even jackets.
The same thing, even if you're a fan sitting there at a game.
Sadly, gloves and a hat maybe.
And it's not saying that you're a wimp wearing them, but it gets cold.
So my biggest thing is, how do you get your kids prepared to get them warmed up, stay warm?
And then making sure you know big our big things is pitchers and like baseball softball Making sure that they're probably wearing an undershirt, you know not just standing there in a t-shirt because if they're standing outfield They may be standing there for two hours.
Absolutely.
So, you know, I think the biggest thing is being prepared think ahead Plan ahead have that bag of extra supplies
and you make a good point about the fans because it's
Also, all you do is think about the weather.
Oh, I can't wait till this is over.
Whereas if you're feeling good, it's like, I hope this goes on forever.
You know what I mean?
I think that's a good point to just bring an extra something.
And the
equipment's out there nowadays.
They've got so many advances.
You know, I mean, dry shirts are light.
You know, you know, if you sweat or not going to feel real heavy, but you can put that on.
My own son went on a field girl trip yesterday, you know, had pants on.
It was cool.
Was able to take those off and he had shorts on.
Probably because as I was told he was trying to get a turtle at some nature preserve, you know, probably made a mess and stuff,
but
good old Charlie.
Hey, do you remember back in the days of Major League Baseball, as soon as the pitcher would come off into the, it didn't matter if it was 100 degrees, he'd take a jacket and he'd just put it on up to his shoulder.
Do you remember that?
Yeah.
You know, that was a big thing.
You know, I mean, sometimes you still need to do it.
Like you said, we live in Northeast Wisconsin.
What what happens in Oshkosh what happens in Marinette may be completely different, you know So it's like making sure that you're just staying warm and you know again.
What what kid is your position?
Hey, I have to ask you one Sports question right now in regards to an injury.
So Seth I love the NBA playoffs.
I pay zero attention to the NBA up to the playoffs.
Okay, um Steph Curry.
Yep class one hamstring.
What's worse stage or class four class one?
what's worse is four.
It's really like three preps, right?
Probably one, two, three.
So he's got a one.
I've heard he's out a week.
I think he has to also look at that as you don't want this to be a long
term thing.
Because I just think of the Christian Watson's and the people around here with the those hamstrings.
Yeah, I mean, you know, it's it's being read by an MRI.
So they look and then I'm right and going, okay, it's a mild, you know, well, let's turn grade one is a mild hamstring strain.
Okay, now they're going to look and say,
What can he do?
You know, they'll do treatment on him.
They'll do modalities.
They'll do exercises.
But if he can't function, doesn't mean if they say, well, he was going to supposed to be back in a week, he can't run.
You know, so if we're a week out or two weeks out and he can't run and cut, he's not going to go back out there.
You know, the technology is great on the front end of having MRIs and stuff.
But you still have to use your brain, your knowledge and your people to say, OK, what can he do?
What can he do?
You don't want to re-injure this again.
You don't want it to be
a one.
Because they're easy to re-injure, aren't they?
Yeah, and then does it start going into next year?
And does it bug him the rest of his career?
Because back in 2025, he had to play in a playoff game.
Now, we all know, I mean, if it's, they're down 0-3 or something like that, he may not play the next game.
You know, I mean, it's, so he's going to have to look at, you know, his own health
and-
But one is the least.
Least.
Okay.
Yeah, mild.
And then we got an amplify, Bellin.
The Bellin's coming up again.
What is it?
I
believe it's June 11th.
I
should
know this, but I think it's
the 11th.
We had Randy on two who, like you, is very into the community and into the health and well.
But we can start working on that now.
Yeah, we want to bring him back.
There's already some training runs.
Are the training runs started already?
Nate VanderVest does training runs on Wednesdays.
And he's been pushing those.
And they've been getting some good attendance.
And they even had a change for the week with the draft and moved it in another location.
People still came out.
I think what's cool about the bell and I mean, it's right.
It's only a 10k.
But to do it, it's just it's not that much pressure because you got those heats now.
So if you run a little late, there's people walk the bell.
And I think the thing with with with it was we also added now it's the 10k was what's been there the whole time.
Right.
We've now added a 5k.
So there's a
smaller row.
Nice.
So, you know, it doesn't matter if you're youth or if you're an adult or a grandparent, you can walk it.
You know, I mean, so there's different options you can go and I think it's a great way
at school.
Yeah,
school is
getting done.
Kind of start a summer.
It's a great way to end or start your summer
and the events after our fun and it's just, yeah, the money goes to charity.
So I just, yeah, it's a great thing to do.
And you're right.
It's start a summer.
Let's get healthy this summer.
And right now you're doing the training runs.
People should need to look into that because it's sort of just start walking, but
yeah, start walking, just being active.
Right.
You know, we, we had a Marinette 5k, which was a run that was up in Marinette this last week.
5k small race 3.1 miles, but it was awesome to see also we had some people that had total joints or a heart attack and They did a parking lot walk.
It wasn't competitive, but what a great opportunity
just to get out and do something with your family.
Yeah.
And I'll tell you what, like we were talking about, you know, like at the Croc Center, they've got those really cool things with the treadmills where you got the video, like you're going through Tuscany or whatever, whatever.
But like I said, when you get out on a day like this, you will do, you can do like twice as much.
Yeah.
Wouldn't you agree?
And you don't even realize how much it's mental.
It's not physical, but when you want to quit.
Yeah.
Oh, it's true.
Yep, it is.
Yeah.
Thank you guys for everything.
No, thanks for what you just did.
You gotta go to work.
I gotta go to work.
All right, man.
Mark, get us some health and force medicine.
Hey, get us some swag from a dress.
Just enjoy your Mother's Day weekend.
and Lisa Hale for joining us.
Joining us right now, Avery Renreck, fourth and goal of summer football camp for kids.
Avery, welcome local Green Bay Fella and trying to, how do you say it, pay it forward a little bit?
Maybe some of the people that helped you become a football player and you're trying to do the same for young kids around here with a non-profit.
Welcome.
Thank you.
Appreciate
you
guys for having me.
This is awesome.
Appreciate you coming
in.
Oh, wait a minute, we gotta do one more quick.
I'm sorry.
Thank you.
We always do this.
Yeah.
You're

Week
for today.
This is awesome.
That
is a
great giveaway.
Okay.
Sorry to interrupt you, Avery.
No worries.
How are
you
doing, buddy?
Good.
How are you guys?
Good.
You are putting on a camp for kids seven to seventeen.
Um, with, and you brought in some, I mean, you're obviously a great player, but you're bringing in some talent.
Yeah.
So we'll have Elton Jenkins out there.
We're going to partner with him.
Um, built a relationship with him over the last couple of years.
Good guy.
Yeah.
Awesome guy.
He came
up to Pulaski High School and we're doing our, uh,
high school football against cancer type thing and he came out there and boy he was interacting with the people and the kids.
It was just
awesome.
So
this
is a full day for these kids?
It'll be 11 a.m.
to 2 p.m.
So just a couple of hours the last time we did it it was a little bit longer and kids were on out parents ready to
go.
All right, and then we're gonna learn some
skills and yeah, so we'll run up through some stations We got like a speed and agility station.
So I think we're gonna have ETS, which is a local performance facility come out They're gonna run like the warm-ups run the kids through some agility and speed stuff And then we have we're partnering with some like high school coaches and some other guys as well to come run like quarterback training Running back training defensive back training all that stuff.
So okay
before the next question I'm just gonna give people your website
right
fourth and like letter and goal.org.
Yeah, that's all
Well it is, it's forthandgoal.org.
To do these things, and I don't know what you charge the kids, but sponsorships are critical when it comes to events like this.
Yeah, they're huge.
And you are looking for some sponsorships.
So let's talk about...
what a sponsor could get and what the benefit is to the kids.
Yeah, so we really appreciate any dollar amount.
Obviously, like on our brochures and everything like that, we start with $1,000.
We have people that'll donate 20 bucks and that goes a long way.
So we charge the kids, it's all free.
These annual cans are all free.
Oh, really?
Free to all the kids.
Oh, that's
cool.
Very cool.
And we try to get them a meal, a gear bag with a camp shirt, and have the sponsors on the back.
So that's one of the benefits for the sponsors.
Their logo will go on the back of the shirt.
We'll have them on our website as one of our teammates.
And then they'll be posted on our flyers and across social media and everything like that in regards to the camp.
Awesome.
And this takes place in Green Bay.
Yep,
it'll be in
Green Bay.
It's going to be one of the high schools east or west.
We're not defining that right now.
Is this, I could ask, is this for boys and girls or
is this for boys and
girls?
That's
awesome.
I'll tell you what, girls play football right now.
It's huge.
It is huge.
I'm glad to hear that.
I didn't
see that.
I mean like Olympics, right?
Yeah, it's huge.
Yeah,
that's cool.
Good.
Got
a
texture.
Based on today's show, perhaps we should change the slogan to minor the mayor, ranting, raving, and off the rails.
Nancy, okay, thank you.
I think she's on to something.
Yeah, you're on to something.
I gotta ask you this.
So where does the passion come?
We ask every person that comes in here, where does the passion come from?
Who sparked this for you?
Yeah, so really, for me, it was during COVID in the house.
Didn't have really much going on, obviously, quarantine and everything.
And I was kind of going through what brought me passion in life.
And I found a common thread throughout everything was helping other people.
I love sports.
And then I was doing research online, found a bunch of articles from ESPN and New York Times about the amount of kids that can't afford to play sports and how that's impacting the future generations and everything.
So that hit them to me.
No joke, man.
It's expensive, and even here in Green Bay, there's a lot of kids that are unfortunately homeless or they're underprivileged.
So just being able to give back to them, the impact of sports was big for me growing up, coming from a single mother household myself.
I know what it can be to not be able to play at times, but then fortunately for me when I got to Ashwabinen and in middle school and everything, it was a little bit cheaper because the participation fees weren't as high and a lot of the equipment was provided outside of CLEAT.
being able to help kids and bridge that gap there and be that.
that pathway, I guess you could say, to get to play the sport that they love, whether it's football, basketball, soccer, baseball, tennis, whatever the case might be, we're here to help them do that and chase their dreams.
And you know what I think is really cool when you're talking about the different things, I would have loved to have something like this when I was a kid where you get to do the kind of drills that they do at like a combine or something.
You know what I mean?
Kind of compare yourself, how you do versus.
I mean,
I think
John, we could probably send you to this and see
how you do all the drills.
Come on out.
You know what, do
you have a category for really old guys with artificial
guns?
I've heard a fourth in goal in the camp, but what are some of the other work your nonprofit does?
Yeah, so we help with really the main goal of it is to help kids that can't afford to play sports.
So if there's a, we have a request assistance form on our website.
It's pretty straightforward.
Not asking any like intrusive questions or anything like that.
They fill it out.
We just want to make sure that those people that are filling it out.
are in fact in need.
And if they request football cleats or their registration fees covered, if they're playing some kind of program or basketball shoes or baseball glove, whatever the case might be, we'll get it ordered for them.
Or we actually, I've been taking the kids right to Dix and helping them pick this stuff out.
Wow.
And they'll do it there.
So very
cool.
Avery, the other thing I think people are listening, I mean, you teach them the X's and O's, but you also teach them about teamwork and some leadership skills.
Just talk about that.
I think that's so important.
And I think because of COVID, we've missed some of that.
Yeah, of course.
That's the biggest thing sports provides, you know, not outside of the athletic stuff and staying staying active.
It's it's about teamwork.
It's about working together to accomplish a goal.
And then you get the respect out of it.
You're respecting your teammates.
You're respecting the other team.
You're respecting your coaches, leadership.
If, you know, depending upon your position, everybody's a leader on the field.
If you speak up and you can gain that leadership, that leadership role on your team.
And then we have speakers that'll come out.
So obviously this year, Elton, he'll probably talk to the players.
He came out our first year as well.
And then we've gotten
people from St.
Norbert College that has come out.
I'm a local barber from Starr's, came out and spoke to the kids.
So just really just showing the kids that.
Even if you can't make it in sports, there's other career opportunities to be successful in life, where you can, you know, gain these, these roles in these positions.
Transfer those skills to so many other things.
Exactly.
Home.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sports is so much more than the athletic part
of it.
Yeah.
I'm glad you're teaching that.
Absolutely.
You mentioned about a single family home, your mom, you know, you didn't have that dad come home from working, throw the football around with you or whatever.
Yeah.
And a lot of these kids, I think maybe sometimes.
when you're not trying to get overly, you know, whatever, but you know, sometimes when you don't have that and you look at other places for a little bit of that, that guy to throw the football around with, seems like you're trying to help those types of kids a bunch to have that guy that'll throw the ball around with you or do some drills and things like that.
Yeah.
Does that
Come from the heart yourself a little bit.
Yeah, a little bit.
Yeah.
Like you said, it was, you know, it didn't have anybody there to throw the football.
My brother, my older brother, he would do it a little bit, but he's not into sports at all.
So, um, for me, it was just watching it on TV, throwing it with my little brother.
He's not into sports either.
So it was like, where do I find that?
Um, and when I got to high school and middle school, I was starting to able to play.
But like you said, a lot of the kids, you know, they look for, you know, a role model in the, in the community.
And sometimes it's not great.
It's, it's, that's what I'm saying.
have
that maybe it slides into that other guy in the neighborhood who's you know every Renwick fourth and goal summer football camp for kids
and I think every some people may not know what a need we have for this in this community I mean like I could working that field a little bit and there are kids that are missing
pretty cool part of life that we kind of took for granted.
And that's why these sponsors can really help get these kids engaged with other friends, which is really important, some leadership skills.
And I mean, to be with a Packard player, I'm sure they're excited to be there.
Yeah, ecstatic.
A lot of the kids love that.
Um, the sponsors are a huge part of it.
Like you said, um, and you can not only sponsor, you know, the camp, but you can also sponsor an athlete.
So we have those options on our site where you can, you know, send us 50 bucks and that sponsors an athlete to attend one of our camps.
Nice.
Um, or, you know, if you want to send 150 bucks, that's kind of like our, our threshold there to get a kid in the game.
We call it.
Um, so that gets them like the shoes or the, the, the necessary equipment and cover their fees.
Um, so there's different sponsorship options and routes.
and packages that we have built out there.
And we can see all
that stuff.
Just go into fourthandgold.org.
Yep.
So it's all on the website.
All right, cool.
And then we have a donation portal as well.
Right.
You got a
quick text here.
What about volunteers?
Do you need volunteers from Cathy?
Anybody that wants to come out and help we're more than happy to help them or not help them, but have them out there with us to help So volunteers are great.
You can reach us right on unforthengold.org or my email is avriatforthengold.org so you can email me directly And more than happy to help people set up do the registration right out there with the kids I
gotta think there's a whole lot of back structure that goes into put together something like this
Yeah, there's a lot the money's important, but boy you have to have the volunteers and when they talk about time treasure and talent
you know, to give your time is sometimes that's even worth
more.
But
it is.
It's very
important.
I mean, I deal with that now.
We just have the summer.
It's kind of tough to get volunteers sometimes because people are busy.
They
do
other things.
So that would be great if she could get on on your website.
Fantastic.
Yeah.
I know you need that
for some of the people back in your youth that, you know, really helped you get to where you are today.
Um,
because you
don't go as far back as the days of coach Golopsky, do you?
No.
The main coach there was the varsity coach was Jonas.
Mark Jonas.
Yep.
Now the head coach, Shadow Kanto, falls, I believe.
I believe so.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I think for me, the main thing was, I probably would put it to my older brother, just kind of building the structure in terms of the game of football that was different, but he was in the Navy for a little bit.
Okay.
So kind of having that structure there.
Obviously, he had his own life and career and stuff.
So he wasn't around a whole lot, but that was kind of like the father figure for me in building that structure in my life and kind of.
And that's so important.
Isn't it though?
Yeah, it is.
So important.
So what are you doing now?
I mean, you seem like you really got it together.
This is your full-time?
No, so I have a full-time job here in Green Bay.
I work for a marketing company.
Trying to step away from that, eventually, if I can.
And God willing, but yeah, this is something that I do.
Wow.
I try to do it full-time.
I got the clothing line as well.
Right.
Talk about that.
Yeah, so the clothing line I started, that was the original thing five years ago.
call 4th and Long.
So 4thandLong.com, 20% of the proceeds go to 4th and Goal to help the kids that can't afford to play sports.
So that was the original thing, started with 12 shirts, kind of sold it to friends and family and kind of snowballed from there.
All the clothes are, you know, good quality cotton.
We print them right here in Green Bay, order the stuff online, and then bring it to a local print shop, Tundra and Parallel & Promotions, and they print it.
And we try to make it affordable so that way everybody can wear it.
But it's about chasing your dreams, backs against the wall.
A lot of these kids are in the same situation where they're backs against the wall and trying to find that way out.
You know, I would assume sometimes just for those kids to know that people care.
You know, people, hey, we're here, we care.
There's somebody here, you know.
who will put in some time and sweat and equity to help you kids.
I think that means a
lot to kids, don't you?
Yeah, I do.
Yeah, that's a big thing is being able to have somebody to look to to know that they care where you're not just out here running in the streets and stuff and nobody cares about you.
A lot of the kids like...
to know that somebody cares, there's some accountability there.
And even though kids probably won't say it, they like structure.
I think a lot of kids like structure to have, like I'm coming home, I have a meal.
You know, this is, my parents are requiring me, or this person's requiring me to do my homework.
This is my bedtime.
So it definitely helps.
That's awesome.
Avery, stick
around.
Doing a good job, Avery.
Avery, Renrich, fourth and goal, summer football camp for kids, but a whole lot more.
than just that one football camp.
Yep.
And not that dread to dismiss it, but I'm just saying it's, you got a whole passion for this thing.
Yeah.
We're talking more about
this and how we can help you, okay?
Thank you so much.
Mine on the mirror, back after this.

Once again, Mino and the Mayor, John Mino and Jim Schmidt.
Hey,
thank you very much.
Welcome back.
We're with a very impressive young man here, Avery Renrich.
Fourth and goal, the summer football camp for kids.
I like your mission statement here.
Fourth and goal is dedicated to empowering children from under resourced communities by eliminating financial barriers to sports participation and covering registration fees and equipment costs, helping children in need access the transformative benefits of sports.
I can't, you know, we got a good friend here, Naomi Mose who runs the art garage and she kind of.
tries to do for the arts what you're doing for sports which is really great because I think I can't think of anything more heartbreaking than some young kid who wants to be involved either in sports or art or whatever and they don't have like the registration fees or the equipment or the whatever and I love it that people like yourself and Naomi and so many others in these communities say hey let me let me step in here and kind of try to be a little bit of a facilitator I think
that's really cool
I appreciate it.
Yeah, I think there's always got to be somebody out there that's willing to help be a resource.
Unfortunately, there's kids that just can't afford things or even adults in specific entities that can't afford things or can't.
You know bridge that gap essentially so
but I think that's two things that you're doing though.
I mean if you sponsor a kid or you're gonna put a thousand dollars into your You're right.
This kid's got something to do.
He's gonna learn some leadership skills But yeah, there's maybe see if saving him from going down a wrong track, too I mean that's kind of easy to do in certain areas So I really you're two great things you're doing there I mean educating the kids gonna have fun.
He's looking forward to it He's got new equipment feels like he's part of the team, but the other thing is that I can do this I don't have to do
one person that
man, woman, whatever it is, who provides that spark.
You know, sometimes you never know who you're going to connect with.
Right.
And they have that opportunity to connect with that person.
Right.
Yeah.
Right.
100%.
Yeah.
I mean, you even hear professional athletes when they make it, they say, if it wasn't for sports, I don't know where I would be.
Oh, yeah.
And a lot of the kids... Are musicians when they come on?
Many of them?
Exactly.
Yeah.
I mean, that's a big thing is like they, you know, you don't give them that pathway.
If they feel like that, that pathway is closed off, it's...
They're going because they think that somebody else bounce off to some other
direction and who knows where that takes them.
Yeah.
That's successful.
Yeah.
We talk about the volunteers as well.
I mean, they get a lot out of it as well.
I
think sometimes people are like, I gotta go do this.
And they get at the end of the program of the event.
That
was awesome.
I'm really
glad to hear that.
So we're going to encourage people to participate as well.
Yeah, come on out.
I mean, all the people that have helped us in the past have loved it, just being able to see the kids, participate with the kids, see the energy that they bring.
I just want to compliment you again for
opening it up to both.
I think back in the day, this was just more for boys.
And
I
think the fact that the girls are doing this and having fun.
And it's unbelievable how good and athletic they are.
Yeah, this is before you're on but coach sixth grade Flake football for the Y and I just I think she was the best player on the team I'm not gonna choose so fast and just not afraid of anything But yeah, that's cool that they got that opportunity and to play with boys is good.
Yeah,
and vice versa Yeah, bringing it all together and I think I mean we've had a girl that's came out for the last I think two or three camps probably come out to this one as well I think I saw them sign up
and and she's out there the hardest worker they are in the work in and and yeah just having fun go along that's
fantastic
i love it i love it like
we said women's flag football is getting huge it's getting worldwide yeah so that's incredible i'll tell you what again though um
You're gonna dedicate your life to young athletes and young people like that.
You're gonna be changing lives And that's cool because like you said you've got somebody in your background who did it We have so many athletes and different musicians that come in and there's some person that provided that spark outside of their house You know sometimes in the in the home.
It's like just got put bread on the table, you know
Yeah,
but with that other person that could say hey you got a certain talent.
Yeah
Take that run with
it.
Yes, his greatest parents aren't as hard as they try it Sometimes they hear from somebody like you that's
outside or
they're like I can do this
and
then the person like I've been telling you that you know But you know now that mr. So-and-so or mr. So-and-so
said
I really can can do this.
It's and right That's that's what we need.
That's what kids need.
We're all like that I'm
not
kids just need to hear it more than once.
So
yeah, that's
awesome You're doing that and I think you're helping this community.
Maybe not you don't see it today, but
down the road.
This is good stuff.
For sure.
I
really appreciate it.
How can we help and give yourself another plug?
How people can find the information?

Did you play football at St.
Norbert?
I did not at St.
Norbert.
Just at Ashwabinen.
That's when you got hurt.
Oh, decided to step away.
I was like, this is too much on the body.
I'll find another way to be.
But you still want to
still contribute.
Yep.
Yeah.
I got a 4.0.
That's where you spend.
You got a 4.0?
Not that high.
3.9.
I was in the 7.
That one
class.
What'd you get in the ACT?
I don't even remember.
I got 23.
He got an 18.
That's so not true.
I got 24.
Back at
this.
Coming to Northeast Wisconsin live from the Civic Media Studios, this is Mino and the Mayor.
And
here are your hosts, John Mino and Jim Schmidt.
Hey, thank
you very much.
Welcome back.
Well, it is Mother's Day weekend.
Jim, I'm turning this over to you.
Well, special guest.
Probably the most special guest in my life.
Are you there, Mom?
Yes, I'm there.
All right.
Happy Early Mother's Day.
Thank you.
Hello, Mrs. Schmidt.
Hello, John.
It was great seeing you at the Northland Hotel event that night.
Great 100 year anniversary.
That was a good time But my favorite memory is you at the was it last summer's at two summers ago now at the dedication for the Park two years ago, right mom.
Yeah, we dedicated that park.
Yeah, well,
and you
were on
stage and you were belting out songs like nobody's business.
I thought that was phenomenal
Kind of grew up in that world though.
Yes, we did
You
did
yeah, everybody dad got all the credit for singing mom and people didn't realize how good you were
Well, I'm not good.
I love to sing though.
I love to sing yeah, but I would often have a harmonized together We just enjoyed
seeing yes They did harmony the two of them were my dad's name obviously the gym not this gym And they'd sing duets and harmonize they were very good
So did you
hear me sing happy birthday to our friend Nikki this morning?
No, I didn't have it up.
Good thing.
Good thing mom.
We'll try to play it back for
you.
No, we're okay.
We're
okay.
So what are you doing tomorrow?
Waiting for all my cards and phone calls.
Waiting for a visit from you.
All right,
so you're just sticking around in the at home.
Yes.
Yes.
now that they're grown up and have families that really they should have their own Mother's Day because they all have children and they should enjoy it.
I've had it for so many years that they should enjoy their Mother's Day
too.
What was Mother's Day like back when, you know, all the kids were, what's the age span?
How many years?
Because mine was 17 years in my family, oldest, youngest.
It
would be all of that.
Yeah.
Right.
Was that like when you had all those kids for Mother's Day?
Yes.
It was wonderful.
I often, when the children were small, I would get breakfast in bed and they'd all sit around with a king-sized bed and whisper and they made all these beautiful things and give me these little cards that they would do in grade school.
I have quite a few of them, yes.
I love it all.
I love it all.
Jim always accuses me of being a hoarder, but I bet I've got every single card, any one of my daughters.
or son have made for me.
I don't care what age, what year it was, I got them all in a shoebox.
Yes, this is that great.
It's just wonderful.
Yep.
To look back at that, yes, John does have a lot of that stuff.
So anything you want for Mother's Day?
I mean, your special meal?
Somebody that's, can I tell people how old are you?
You want to tell people how old you are?
Oh, sure.
OK.
It's not going to change.
No, it's not going to change.
Tell people how old a hold are you, mom?
I am 92.
That's
wonderful.
I will be 93 in August.
Yeah.
Okay, I have to ask you one question.
Big news this week about the Pope.
What do you think?
Oh, I think it's wonderful.
His first words were peace.
And that's what we need in this world is peace.
And that'll be great.
He'll be great.
He'll be great.
What do you think of an American Pope?
I mean, you've been around for a while.
We never had an American Pope before.
Right.
We interested an American Pope because he was raised here.
Now, he hasn't been in the United States for probably the last 25 years.
He was a missionary in Peru, but he was raised in the Augustinian Seminary, which is a very good background.
Yeah, we
have three of her brother-in-law's are priests Wow, so she she knows that stuff.
I was just I was really surprised that well you listen to when I interviewed Father Drotty
Yes, I did.
I saw I heard the whole thing.
I was at and we turned to he got it on and we listened to the whole thing Yes,
and he even said that he didn't think there was gonna be an American Pope and here we are.
Yeah, I think it's great
We
gotta
get
into
Green Bay, mom.
That's the goal.
Now that this guy's a Chicago guy, we gotta get into Green Bay.
Remember when we tried to get the Pope to Green Bay to come to the shrine?
Yep.
We got a text here.
We got a text here.
Oh my God, Mary is so wonderful.
All right.
One
of our listeners, Tammy.
They love you too, mom.
That's to
you.
All right.
That's to you, mom.
Hey,
Mary, is it true that sometimes Jim makes you chop sweet?
That's not very good.
Fried
rice, right?
Fried rice.
Anything he makes is good.
Anything he makes is good.
He's a very good cook.
I heard he's a little too
spicy sometimes.
That one time was a little spicy, mom, but
she would tell me that, but she didn't tell
you that.
Yeah, as I get older, I'm more buoyant.
Right, yeah.
Would you want something for tomorrow?
What's Sunday?
Oh, so Sunday.
Tomorrow I got a wedding tomorrow.
Do you want anything special?
I'll make something for you.
You name it.
James, anything you decide to make is good.
She called him James, dude.
That is so sweet.
All right.
Is
he your favorite?
Mom?
Yeah.
Mrs. Ritt, it's your favorite.
Is James your favorite?
It's quiet.
Right
now, yes.
She's on the
air.
That's beautiful.
Next phone call, I'll say yes.
Maybe
some Polish food moms this goes in class or something you want that or something German?
Well, I'll talk to you later today, but yeah, whatever you want.
I'll make it for you because I'll do
it Whatever you do is great.
I love
food.
Yeah, I would think you'd be a dumpling and sauerkraut type person.
Oh I love them dumplings and sauerkraut That's terrific
Yeah,
and you're a good cook, too, mom.
I mean, you only cook for 11 of us for all those years.
How did you do that, by the way?
How did you do that?
11 kids every night?
You know, it wasn't that bad.
If you just do it.
I mean, it's... I don't know.
I mean, if you make something for two, then you make something for three, then you increase something a little bit more, and you make the same things, just add more ingredients.
And
we
just never,
we always had food on the table.
I just never remember as a kid, like waiting.
So you, yeah, whatever you're doing, you, you did it right.
I mean, that's, that's a lot of people to serve though, right?
I mean, 12, 13 people sitting around the table every night.
How big was your table?
Yes, we had a big table.
It was, it was like a football table.
It was wider in the middle.
Smaller at the end and we had it built by the lumber company and they built it in the And then they brought it
in right.
Oh, wow That's big table though.
Yeah, that's cool.
And you always we always ate together too, which I thought was yes We always ate together.
Yes in retrospect.
That's
that was the thing back in those days boy.
I'll
tell you
what you didn't miss a meal You didn't I mean you got to be there for the whole thing.
What was your favorite meal to make them?
Well, when the children were small, it was easy to make some of a casserole that Everybody could eat rather than to make separate meat and potatoes and vegetables and good We had a lot of casseroles when the children were small,
right?
So it's easy to make and serve everybody.
Yeah, also the soup soup can go to everybody too.
Absolutely.
That's also
just take absolutely
Well, this is Mrs. Schmidt.
We'll let you, we'll let you go.
I'm sure you got other kids that are waiting to call you today.
Yeah, exactly.
But we just can't say how, uh, how wonderful it is to have you on here.
And, uh, boy, you sure sound spry and, and with it at 92, you sound fantastic.
You said about 30 years younger and, uh, just an honor to have you on this show.
Fine.
Thank you,
John.
Very well.
I think you're, you and my mom would have gotten along pretty good.
Oh yeah.
Mrs. Ma.
All right, mom.
Thanks for coming.
All right.
I'll see you tomorrow.
It's Sunday.
All right.
Happy Mother's
Day.
Happy Mother's Day.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Bye.
Bye-bye.
Wow.
With it.
All I want to do is say, OK, let's hear some dirt.
Like give me some stories about Jim as a child.
There'd be no dirt on James.
She
hasn't, but she wouldn't tell you.
So that's, she's a real mom.
You know what?
Let me just say this.
Don't do something.
How should I put this?
You're gonna, yeah, you'll kind of regret.
Later on and what I'm saying this is I thought that one day I was gonna save a couple of bucks one of the last times I visited my mom I'm at the drugstore Snyder drugs that's gonna get her some flowers And they're like odd as mother and I bought her those artificial flowers that that looks so real.
It's unbelievable and Then I had and then my niece visited after I left and my niece is just I forget who it was Joey or whatever.
It's just
Hide those flowers,
Johnny bought them.
Just hide
them in a
drawer someplace so nobody sees them.
And it's like, that's one of my last memories of my
mom.
Your mom didn't say that.
Yeah,
my mom did.
Oh, she did?
My mom.
Oh.
I thought that your niece said that.
Hide those
flowers.
Johnny bought
those.
They're cheap.
Hide them.
Put them in a drawer someplace.
Wow.
Wow.
So that's how I like to say it.
OK.
All
right.
Yeah,
that's it.
You can come up with a better memory than that.
Yeah.
That's what I'm saying.
Have a better memory.
Yeah.
Anyway,
yeah, that's something else, aren't they?
Oh, they're the bad.
I told her very last words to me, right?
Yeah.
Cheap.
Johnny.
Yeah, mom.
Put the chair back.
Take a chair closer.
Put the chair back.
I think
your mom and my mom were probably very similar.
Cut the same clock.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But think about that these days.
13 people at every meal.
I never, I just, you know, I don't know what to say.
How did they do it?
Never heard her complain ever about just
I was just, I don't know, it's weird to think back to that because I, you know, even three kids, it's held to do, it's tough and to make sure they're all there.
But that was one of the things that was kind of an unwritten rule.
We were always there.
You know, my, I don't know if my dad, I don't know if he threatened us.
We were just always there every night.
So, which is cool.
So.
No question.
Anyway.
Or did
she sound sharp?
Yeah.
And we could have just said, go ahead and expound on the.
Bishop.
She would
have gone for a while in a pulp.
On and on.
That's her thing, which is great.
That's cool, though, especially when they've got something like that to really follow.
Right.
Yeah.
And it's the WTN she watches that.
Yeah.
She loves sports, though.
She would have, if you picked up on baseball or football, she's in a football pool every week.
We got
her to the casino.
She's one of the couple of times.
It's just, it's simple.
All the games pick the winner.
Yeah.
But it's amazing.
And she, oh yeah, when that football comes around, you call her sometime and she'll tell you.
Oh, that would
be fun.
She's, she's actually pretty good.
Okay.
This football season, Todd.
Yeah.
Todd, give her a call sometime.
We get a new segment
called Mary's Picks.
I love it.
We're
doing it.
She, I tell you, I've seen, I've seen the trophy on her mantle.
So
yeah,
she's good at that.
That's fantastic.
Just great.
Just wonderful.
Yeah.
Wow.
So
anyway, yeah, it's nice.
Was okay.
But can I just say
something?
You are okay.
And my mom would have said the same thing to me on whatever would have.
Whatever he makes me is just.
Sometimes after you walk out there, you want this.
Like even that chop sweet thing, she didn't even write.
She knows.
It was too spicy.
She told me that, but then when you're on there, she, oh, everything's great.
But this is something
to trying to do something extra special.
Well, it's, oh, this is the more expensive one.
You know what?
I'll do that.
It's
like, that's too spicy.
James, James, do you want this?
James made it.
It's just way too spicy.
I don't know who he is thinking he was making this for.
I'll figure something out.
That's great though.
Great having her on.
Hey, anybody else out there?
We have 10 minutes before the after this break before the musicians come on.
Anybody else?
If you've got a mom.
that you would like us to give a salute to.
Please let us know.
Text us.
Todd, how do they text us?
You can download the Civic Media app.
Choose W-I-S-S or W-G-B-W, lower right hand corner.
Got a text right here.
We need to be calling Jim's mom on a regular basis.
Nancy.
Little football comes around.
I think she'd like
that.
Got a text here from Nikki, our girl, Nikki Z.
And I say it, you hear me sing?
She goes, no, because I didn't know you were going to.
Mark was kind enough to send me a message.
I'll have to check it on the podcast.
I heard it was spectacular.
I heard it was unbelievable.
Do
you think you're singing the same note he is I know I am I can hear it.
All
right.
Let's go to the text

That's why I pointed that one out to you.
E-C-Y-L-E now It must be okay, right?
Uh-huh.
E-Cycle now, right?
No.
Oh my goodness.
No not Cycle.
Let's do the letters.
E-C-Y
L-E-N-O-W dot com.
So write that down.
What is that word?
I don't know what that word is.
Yeah, we're
trying to
figure out how to pronounce that
word.
It's not E-Cycle,
because Cycle
would have another unit.
Okay, so spell it again for me slowly.
It's
E-C-Y-L-E-N-O-W.
Dot com.
Dot com.
So I'm thinking the now, but that first word isn't a word.
E-Cycle.
Yeah,
like electronic.
There'd be another C in there.
Maybe they just forgot one.
I'll look it up guys.
Anyway, let me
give you the phone number because if you have any
questions on this.
Can we get
that right?
That we can do
it.
920-246-7143 John, 7143.
Doug Himes, Doug Hart.
Everybody knows that.
So 920-246-7143.
Give them a call.
You don't have to make a reservation.
Just go there.
I'm sure there's going to be a little bit of a line.
Microwaves that's been sitting around the basement.
Get that out of there.
Absolutely.
This is the time.
I got a texture.
My mom loves gardening, so I'd always help her plant her flowers garden.
Every year, my gift would be flowers or hanging plants.
That's great.
I
am glad she is still in my life.
Terry.
That's nice.
Very nice.
Yeah.
I think for me, that was the hardest thing when my parents finally had to move out of their house and my mom was gone was all of her empty flower gardens because kind of the same thing.
Like it was always mom, you know, mother's day.
It was hanging baskets, you know.
So yeah, I can appreciate that one right there.
Absolutely.
No question about it.
And I don't think we have to tell people, but you got to do something.
Yeah, absolutely.
You know, and like we were talking earlier with Mark Houston, even if your kids are, you know, six, seven, eight, take them shopping.
But pay for it, but let them give the gift and pick it out plastic flowers
I don't think Mino's mom would be the type to sugarcoat anything.
Yeah, that's true.
You Italians are pretty direct.
Well, yes and no.
Oh, those are so nice, Johnny.
That's nice.
And as soon as I'm up there, get rid of those.
That was her thing.
Jesse, what are you doing for your mom for Mother's Day?
Speak
into the
microphone.
We want to meet your mom.
The answer is.
Nothing to date.
So you what do you go?
Okay?
We're putting on a spot.
We could do you take her to brunch?
I'll probably so she's six hours away.
So I'll probably call her and give her flowers.
All right
That's your Chicago
That should
be here in June.
So you'll meet her.
All right.
Okay.
That's nice.
She
was born and
raised in Panama
Yes, she was that's awesome.
I'd love to meet her really
truly.
I think that's cool He says she'll be here in June.
We'll have a very special show just for his mother There you go.
Yeah, she'll be part of the audience and all that kind of stuff.
She makes some really good pandemonium food Yeah, you know
what I want you to give a plug to I want you to give her a plug once again to our Caribbean
We're going to talk about that.
We're going to talk about the
Asian food guy.
Well, here's the thing.
They've got their anniversary party.
Area 509 has their anniversary party next Saturday, 17th in Appleton.
Want to go down there and enjoy lots of food trucks, lots of live music, of course, libations, all the good stuff.
Reggie's actually going to be joining us next Friday to help promote that.
Awesome.
But yeah, absolutely.
Area 509.
And again, it's so cool that it's food you don't really have around here.
I mean, it's what he brings to the
table, right?
Rocks, tails.
I'm telling you right now.
I don't think I could do that.
Oh, no, I'm telling you right now.
Knowing what you and I grew up eating, you can do it.
No,
well,
you're just, no, I gotta make a draw a line of the sand on that one.
We grew up wanting our folks to have us eat.
I didn't actually eat that stuff.
The pork, hot, knuckle thingies.
Nope, I could tell you when they'd make soup with that, I could have a little pile of those right here that I would spoon out.
Some of those other things.
Could you eat a pig's knuckle?
I couldn't.
We didn't have a choice.
They called it that.
We did not have a choice.
This is what you ate and you can ask my sisters, you didn't leave the table till it was all gone.
See, my
mom, my dad was like that.
My mom would, she'd make a side meal if he didn't like it.
Of course she would.
She
really?
I'm shocked, James.
We love Mary.
She's awesome.
And we are having a football contest this year with Mary.
I love it.
We gotta set it back, quick break, and we got a great, great musical ensemble coming up.
Jupiterlings.
She kissed me and said baby
From local stories to local voices, we're shining a spotlight on what matters right here in northeast Wisconsin.
It's more than just talk.
It's about connecting with the community.
This is Mino and the Mayor.
Now, here's John Minow and Jim Schmidt.
Hey, thank you very much.
Welcome back.
What a treat having your mom on.
Mary Schmidt, she's just awesome.
Just great.
Also, Avery Renrich, fourth and goal, summer football camp for kids.
We're going to promote that more next week.
Mark Houston, Bellensports Medicine.
Mark just brings it strong every time as does Lisa Hale.
New WISCO weekend
drops.
It comes out tomorrow morning eight o'clock and then again on Sunday at 11.
It's all about Mother's Day.
Fantastic.
Wonderful.
I'll tell you what.
Now we got some impressive people walking into our studio.
Jupiter Lynx.
I love that name.
Jupiter Lynx, part of the Mine with the Mayor live music series.
We've got Jerry Frisk and Lindsay Johnson.
Welcome.
Thank you for having us.
We're glad
to be here.
We've got to ask Jupiter Lynx.
That's an awesome name.
Who's taking credit?
Oh boy.
Honestly, my husband.
Yeah, that guy in there because.
Guy has a shirt that says, I'm with
the band.
He wears
that all the time.
He does.
Like, I think that's the only shirt he owns now, but we gig a lot.
They've been to a lot of them.
But we
were.
Could be my wife's a rock star.
Right.
Yeah,
I know.
It
was Sparkle.
Nothing better than that.
Pointed over there.
So
disappointing.
With a finger pointing my meal ticket.
Yeah.
He's our beer boy,
too.
He gets the beer.
Don't bother, man.
We're loading equipment.
But you put it in the links.
Love that name.
So we wanted something unique.
And I mean, everything I came up with is kind of generic.
And Jerry's like, I want something powerful.
It's punchy and different.
I'm like, OK.
And then we started to think, OK, his name starts with a J. My name starts with an L. And we're like, all right, what's something we like?
And we came up with something weird.
And Jerry was saying no to everything I was suggesting.
And then my husband was in the car.
And he's like, how about Jupiter links?
And I'm like, really?
That sounds really
cool.
Yeah.
Game over.
Pretty much.
That's the first thing
he was like, OK.
Because I was into this, at the time, was into this like, planet thing.
I don't know why.
Oh.
And that's how we, yeah, part of it.
All right, that's cool.
We're talking about that.
Jim and I actually had that topic on the other day.
He says, watch this show about advertising people.
And some of the greatest slogans come from, like, the most innocuous things people say versus as hard as you try to be creative with something super cool.
Sometimes it just happens.
driving around and two brilliant sets.
So
here we
are.
How's the music industry treating you here in Green Bay, Tommy?
Yeah, it's been going really well.
I mean we're
really just starting to break into Green Bay a little bit more lately this past year You know it took us a while We were like everywhere outside of Green Bay is where we could get booked because we really are going off of nothing We just you know had a few Home recordings things like that were sharing with people and people just had to give us a shot and they did and so having a few people give us a shot without knowing much about us Kind of just let it spread right and then once we got a gig locally It's been easier to make it you know happen
the same old true Appleton Oshkosh you work
area as well.
I mean really we've gone as far as like Stevens Point, Beaver Dam, Ocona
Moac, Topp Northeast Wisconsin and most of all this community is that we're giving opportunities.
You know smaller venues and you can grow,
grow, grow.
You'll always find someplace.
I would like to think so.
And there's a lot of Door County stuff we do too.
In the summer we do a lot of stuff there.
A lot of women owned bars
which
is really
cool.
I didn't expect to be so many women owned bars so I was really impressed by that
too.
Cause their husbands are in treatment, but yeah, that's right.
I don't
know.
I'm just kidding.
We haven't had any treatment.
Wow.
So
tell us about how you guys got started, how you guys got connected the whole thing.
Oh man.
These
are all good backstories.
Yeah.
This is a probably really interesting one.
We used to, we used to work together.
Actually used to be our boss and I worked.
at a building materials.
Okay.
Oh, just drop the name here.
Wow.
Wow.
It's billers first source in deep here.
Oh, sure.
Cool.
But yes, I was her boss and how long did you work there, Lindsay?
Not,
not super.
It wasn't my thing.
I love the place.
Love Jerry, but just I'm the creative mind.
I needed to do something
different, but what a week.
No, maybe seven, not even quite a year.
I don't think.
Oh, but
one
day I was up at the copy machine and there was another gentleman that
used to work with me that played in a band in Florida and him and I would always talk music.
And Lindsay kind of sat next to him and she, she looked at him and she goes, were you playing a band?
I said, well, I've been doing it for years, a long, long time.
But at the time, the last band I was in fell apart when COVID hit.
And I said, but I was thinking about doing an acoustic thing by myself.
And she said, well, she wanted to get into something.
And it kind of just took off from there.
And then she sent me like three recordings on my phone that next weekend.
And I listened to him and it kind of just, it took off from there.
I had no
idea what he sounded
like at
that point.
So he only knew what I sounded like, but
I was
a single mom of three for a really long time.
And so I just couldn't get into music after high school.
Just didn't have the time.
And so I got to a point now I'm, you know, remarried and my kids are older and I met Jerry and I'm just like, all right, this is it.
Good for you to say something.
And that would have happened unless you leaned into it a little bit and he said something.
And there's a lot of talent in this community.
you know, sometimes you got to talk about
yourself a little
bit.
And we try to help, but
that's great.
I mean, I was a little leery because she said you could sing and some people say, why?
And I thought, you know, I know.
Right here.
Yeah.
All right.
I was
here listening earlier, but it's, it's tough.
You didn't see
it, John, but he was actually pointing at you behind your back.
What?
What's that?
You guys
hear me sing Happy Birthday this morning?
I think I caught a little bit
of that.
It wasn't bad, John.
Thank you.
I was impressed.
Thank
you.
Jerry,
Jerry,
Jerry.
Hey, Todd?
Why
don't you shut your big yeah back there?
I was having a moment.
Oh, man.
Wow.
All right.
Well, let's hear a little something,
something.
Let's do
it.
A little something.
I'm just going to permit real quick and get the mic set up for you.
What is
your?
Genre what would you
well?
We do a lot of alternative rock a lot of 90s early 2000s, but we mix in some oldies We mix in some more current stuff Some country so we kind of really do a little bit of
everything.
Is it the two of you?
Yeah, okay?
My
son sometimes will come in and during break my son.
I also have an acoustic deck 17 so sometimes they'll come and help out a little bit in between but otherwise it's just guitar and during
We were
on that TV show as well and maybe we'll get to come on here
some time
to his awesome love it bring him in absolutely
great
Jupiter links with Jerry Frisk and Lindsay Johnson
stretch down and he walked with a purpose and the sneakers down the street he had many questions like children often do he said tell me
He said
Harmony
that is a unique harmony to I mean, thank you guys you can tell it's It's you right?
I'm sure that's your thing.
You know they don't
have that harmony in the song I don't think
or other people that harmonize.
It's not the same thing.
This is that was really good.
I enjoyed that
Yeah
Right
we do really
complimenting each
other.
Yeah, a lot of
people are just like you're blender you married.
Nope.
We're definitely not married.
I could be
kid,
but
So where have you performed that you said Luxembourg is where you're from that's where you hail from that's
where Jerry's from Green Bay I mean we've heard like I said we've performed kind of all over So like I said find a leg gosh gosh kind of a walk green beaver
down
been cycling bruise when
they were
new
We, you know, we started off with them a lot and they kind of just kept us coming back.
We love them, Cycling Brews and Depeer.
Lovie Tavern gave us some shots here in Depeer too.
They're really good with vocal
talent, aren't
they?
Some of these micro breweries and these wineries and just to go and
support
them,
but
there's just these little venues in two, three pieces.
This is the kind of stuff we love to sit and drink wine
and listen to.
Yeah, the
wine, the winers are
fun.
I mean, we'd wine a lot.
Wine a lot.
Wine a lot.
And yeah, I mean, a lot of breweries we do, a lot of wineries.
Yeah.
And we
like, we're going to be coming up here at Thirsty Cow Taphouse in Bailey's Harbor.
It'll be there Saturday and they're doing
a fundraiser for the fire department.
So that's
going
to be really neat.
This upcoming, not this Friday, sorry.
Next Friday, we are going to be at Main Street Pub and Grill, which is a new one downtown Depeer there.
They just started up not too long.
and are trying to get some music going,
so we're
happy to go there, too.
All right, so how do we want to book you?
What's...
Yeah, I mean, I'm on top of Facebook all the time.
We
do it with
Facebook.
Yeah, I'm...
Just two of us.
If you
get a response, it's me.
But...
email, honestly, everything's on Facebook, but our email jupiterlinksbandedgmail.com, facebook.com slash jupiterlinks, message us, email us, call me, text me, I'll respond right away.
And that's nice you wouldn't remember jupiterlinks.
Let's go stick around, we'll be back with more jupiterlinks with Jerry Frisk and Lindsay Johnson, mine or the mayor, show back right after this.
That forecast looks great forecast sunny high in the low 70s beautiful weekend coming up for the mother to stay weekend We've got Jupiter links in the house.
They're outstanding Jerry Frisk and Lindsay Johnson and Before we wrap it all up Todd we got to talk about the big competition.
We've been having all week long Tell the links what
we yeah, you
guys are creative people,
right?
So
we're looking for a new slogan for our show a tagline attack.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's a mine on the man
Yada
yada
yada.
Some people could have been nicer.
A lot
nicer.
Well, my husband was the creative one with our names, so.
Yes.
Took us probably a good month to figure out.
My name is Jupiterlings.
Come on, Brian.
What do you got?
Come
on, Brian.
Is he the
guy carrying the big equipment piece with a shirt that says, okay, I'm with the band?
Yes.
He claims he does.
Give me three drinks.
Is that him?
That's definitely him.
He does help all big time,
though.
Let's do shots.
I'm with the band.
I'd love to add that part to the shirt.
Yeah, I like that.
So, Todd.
So I've got, I'm going to give three winners today.
Okay.
Three
winners.
Three winners.
Let's do three.
Okay.
And we've had some great ones over the last couple of days.
Phenomenal.
I've kept the best track I can.
Okay.
How about, well, one of the winners is Mino and the Mayor, two mics, no filter.
Okay.
All right.
I'm going to give that a bell.
Congratulations, Sarah, on that.
This one kind of harkens back to something we say on the show a lot.
Mino and the mayor, we weave.
Okay,
we weave?
So our weave or we weave?
We weave every day a lot.
They're trying to interview the president and say, what are you saying?
Get to the point.
He's like,
I weave.
So we, he just keeps throwing stuff on it.
So that was us.
And
Todd?
Final one.
is Minow and the Mayor on a rant off the rails.
That's not bad.
All right, we'll take it.
All right, so we're
going to be at Main Street Pub and Grow, like I mentioned, on the 16th in Green Bay here, Thirsty Cow Tap House, it's going to be in Bailey's Harbor on the 17th.
It's not a swear word because it's what the beavers build, but it's the beavers build it bar, okay?
Because like, you know,
yeah, we were ready to say that
again nervous.
All right, we're there.
We're good.
You can say
that.
I think we're a Christian station.
All of a sudden.
You're not listeners are you?
No, in her
defense, she grew up singing Christian music with her parents.
That's why she's.
But.
Then
we're going to be a fire lane on the 25th and Athelstain.
That damn fire lane?
Yeah.
Well,
not
quite that,
but yeah.
We're going to be Amber Pub.
I mean, we're kind of getting all around.
Getting up north.
Yep.
Club Reds in
Kokona.
We're going to be a Solu.
We love Solu in Cascade.
That winery
is beautiful.
Cool place.
You guys should check that
out.
Yeah.
Lakefire winery, the 13th of June.
14th.
Let's hear.
Sorry.
Wow.
Every weekend pretty much we unless we chose to have off.
We're busy.
Where can people actually look at that and find that information out like your socials and
stuff like that.
Facebook literally everything is on there a full schedule and I'm also part of another band in my son and I have an acoustic act.
So that's on there too.
So you can get
everything on there.
Jupiter links.
Jupiter links.
We got three minutes to the close outer week for Mother's Day weekend.
Anybody guys like to say hello to on Mother's Day weekend?
My mother.
I love you, mom.
All right.
No
Jerry is the quintessential old guitar playing bar room play actually you know what no I'll say happy mother's late to my two daughters Okay, we're gonna close on our week with Jupiter links Jerry and Lindsay you guys are awesome
Hope to see you guys at a great little winery or pub this summer.
Sounds good.
Thank
you.
Thanks guys.
Bring it on.
Cause I found me a better lover in the UK
Hey, the Green Bay East Great Iron Club, this is a good deal.

This stuff's been sitting in the corner forever.
You know, you can't throw it out in the garbage because that's not right You don't want to take it to the recycling place because they're gonna ding you.
This is free Yeah, I would boy when I see you can't beat that refrigerators free on usually they you know 50 bucks TVs you know much those things guys right to get rid of We have 30 bucks.

Awesome,

What is it for?
Um the Green Bay East Gridiron football association

boosters
So you got the football boosters are gonna help you unload the stuff so for more information.
It's I'm gonna let you do that.
All right.
