And I remember that night when they said they've lost contact with the Edmund Fitzgerald.
And I'll never forget that was this crazy scary of a night.
You know, it's it was one of those nights when the the telephone what it rains and then it freezes right away.
So and then the wind was like 60 or 70 miles an hour.
So then you hear all you hear is the ice breaking on the wires all night long.
It's cool.
It was one of those kind of things.
So but yeah, they dropped 50 degrees overnight.
But I went for a walk yesterday, Todd.
It's unbelievable.
They're just their kids.
But I'll never forget the first.
I think it was in Chicago.
First time.
They said, um, are you AARP?
I go, what?
I go, uh, I'm feeling fine.
I said, why?
She said, well, you'd have whatever percent.
And it was like 30 bucks.
Oh, I. And I'm like, yes, I am.
I just could not believe that.
But anyway, still can.
But anyway, I'm getting around it.
But no, even those breakfasts and things, when you see that little menu, like now, it's only a couple of bucks.
I'll pay it.
I'll take it.
In a heartbeat.
In a
It's a little shocking.
Well, actually, I mean, this shouldn't be whatever, but it's a little offending when they go the other way.
Cause like the dinos stop down here.
It's right by my beverages and stuff.
And it's right by those wonderful, the nicest group of young women.
They're all from Nepal.
And they always have a smile on their face and they're always a good, you know what I mean?
Just the most polite people.
And, but they got that real, everybody must show an ID.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
And the girl they just, it's okay, sir.
You don't have to.
Yeah girl asked me for ID and I laugh
I'm like, okay, first time since 1979.
No, we have a new policy.
Everybody has his car.
I said, okay, I don't have my wallet.
I said, I live five minute walk away from here.
I can run and grab it if you want, but just what you're gonna have to.
I said, are you serious?
I can't buy this wine.
Just know I'm sorry.
Wow.
I had steam coming out of every.
I mean, that's part of my human body.
Like you're not 21 or what is it?
But
I listen to Y100.
Yeah.
So anyway, all right.
Okay.
Well, so I go back later that day.
To buy some and different girl and I go, um She goes, okay, that's you know six dollars ever I go.
Um you forgetting something She's oh, I'm sorry.
What I go.
You're not gonna card me She's no okay the girl here earlier Said she cards everybody and I wasn't even able to buy my six dollar bottle of wine She says well that is true We do have a new station policy about that but to be honest with it anybody that has a lot of gray hair and looks older than my dad I let it slide
That's what I would think.
Wow.
And I had four people standing in line behind me.
And when I, they know who I was, cause they're from ledger and I turned and each one had their head down with their shoulders going up like this.
You want
There's nothing like the big screen, you know?
I mean, it's just.
It worked.
They made some changes.
They served beer.
They got better seating, but they survived.
I met that Marcus guy.
He was in my office one time.
Really?
The guy?
The guy.
Because they have obviously some people there.
But he wasn't like he came to see me.
He was in Green Bay for opening a new theater or something.
And then they just stopped in for 10 minutes.
Brian
The only other thing in the world, and Julie's gonna be mad when she hears this, she's, it's fine.
Take a woman.
And boy, this is sexist already.

No, the colossus star is aligned with the solier
I went to the Wildlife Sanctuary Hazard fundraiser.
You know, I'm here.
You got to come here.
And one thing, I love my job, but you always sat in the front so you kind of can't leave.
This guy, they brought in some expert about birds.
And it just went on and it was like, it was almost Saturday night live.
It was, and then he would name these birds with the name was funny.
I had to stop a guy.
A speaker that I hate because it was that it was in Appleton.
It was at our big fundraiser We do our dining out thing.
Yeah, okay, and Jarts was gonna be our auctioneer Or was our oxygen but it was during the week.
So we told the guy hey 20 minutes max the speaker 20 minutes at 46 minutes Tim Cote who's come on this show.
Oh, yeah, he's just Johnny We got a wrap and cuz Jarts was like John.
Can you do the auction?
I gotta go cuz I gotta leave so we'd rep and the guy was so offended.
Yeah
I bet this guy would have been it just and I think some people are looking around thinking is everybody but You really when you set those times you almost got to stand in the back with a yellow or something of red I know because they lose track and they look they're excited.
They've worked a lot on the look and
From his 50th, okay.
the comedian that he and everybody was like, it was like uncomfortable.
You know what I mean?
Like sometimes it's kind of funny and it's like, okay, come on.
But they went up on the stage.
They got him off.
Wow.
Really?
I swear to God.
It's like, well, okay, thanks for coming and stuff like that.
Wow.
Yeah.
So I think the 80th is gonna be better, but that was funny.

When I was in real estate, I was showing a guy a place down there, whatever.
And he'd come up from Milwaukee.
And he said, hey, do you have time for lunch?
Because he's a really nice guy and everything.
His kids had gone to St.
Norbert and everything.
And he was a dentist.
And I said, I can't.
I got to go back and show another thing.
Because there's a phenomenal Italian restaurant here we're going to.
It's good.
And that was the first time I'd heard about it.
And then I mentioned to somebody else.
They said, oh, you don't know about that place.
I mean, it was almost an all day.
I mean, my dad would go to 5.30 mass Sunday morning and buy.
Quarter to seven he was starting with the polenta and the veal and the that was an all-day thing awesome Yeah, I got a texture of a vision of Jim wearing a robe with an ascot slippers and a pipe Michael
people live in different bubbles.
And we really have to have an understanding of there's, sure there's people who fly in private jet, but there's also people that don't know where they're going to eat tomorrow.
And we have to have that understanding.
Well, we went into a group of kids, great kids that were helping
And we, they came to serve on, was it Labor Day?
I thought it was Memorial Day.
It was Memorial Day weekend.
So they came and Johnny was serving too.

people came.
It's always over a hundred.
Well, in this Memorial Day, it was, so we had these kids coming from this wealthy high school and they're standing there.
It was slow in like 70 people like, man, it's really slow today.
Memorial Day weekend, the guy's like, you know what?
They're probably all up at the cottages.

More things are coming out as they always do.
At first it was alcohol was not involved.
Then it went I'm not making accusations.

You could talk to any media person in the United States from back in the air in the 70s or 80s or whatever They will tell you Milwaukee County stadium was the worst facility
When they don't take cash, it's like, are you, and I told you that there were some, that was challenged in a couple of places that wait, you're discriminating if you don't take cash because it's almost people who don't have credit cards.
Yeah, that's true.
Uh, there might be people who have money that don't like credit cards.
They're just a cash person, you know, under the mattress type people.
And I don't like that.
That happens.
There's a lot of places in national that that's don't take cash.
And it's weird when you're like, oh, it's like, but you

And then he died suddenly.
So his son was taken over the company would just kind of a screw up.
You know, they're trying to get Chrysler
companies pay a lot of money to people like that.
My McDonald's and, you know, I don't know how much they got paid for that.
That didn't last very long.
But, you know, you just better off with just listen to your customers.
What do they say?
Because that's, that's who you're, that's who's paying the bill.
So anyway, yeah, there's a lot of things that come up, not from the corporate world.
They just come up through happenstance or sitting in a hot tub, sitting in a bar.
It's like, that's awesome.
One.
All right.
