Semmi Pasha was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. He holds a doctorate in international affairs from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he studied international economics. He also holds a master’s degree in applied economics from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Previously, he was an economist at the United States Department of the Treasury.
