Well, hopefully by now you have taken your turkey out of the freezer and started thawing it. If not, hurry up! Here are a few tips that will ensure your turkey is perfect on Thanksgiving. Unless you burn it, but that’s on you. 😂

Refrigerator (This is the most recommended method)

  • Keep turkey in its packaging.
  • Place on a tray to catch drips.
  • Allow ~24 hours per 4–5 lbs.

Cold Water (Don’t forget to thoroughly clean your sink first if you’re using the sink!)

  • Submerge turkey in cold water, sealed in leak-proof packaging.
  • Change water every 30 minutes.
  • Thaw ~30 minutes per pound.

Microwave (Only if your turkey is very small!)

  • Follow your microwave’s instructions.
  • Cook immediately after thawing.
