Just a couple of weeks ago was Severe Weather Awareness Week. The National Weather Service created it so people can learn about severe weather and put an action plan in place in the event of severe storms. Well, that time has come! As broadcasters, we may sound like a broken record at times, with the seemingly endless reminders of where to go for safety, but that information can save lives. So, as a reminder, the lowest level of your home is always the safest. The basement if you have one. If not, choose a windowless interior room.

Do not assume that your family members know where to go. Be sure everyone in your family is on the same page, and also where to meet after the storm. Stay sky aware, and keep your radio on for the latest updates!

Jay Roberts
Born and raised in St. Paul, Jay Roberts began his radio career in Mankato, MN, with stops in Minneapolis (93.7 The Edge, 92 KQRS, and Zone 105), Northern Michigan, West Central Minnesota, and nationwide on a syndicated radio network. He’s passionate about the music, and our communities. When not on the air, Jay enjoys hunting & fishing, boating, exotic cars, and chasing severe storms. Jay and his wife and daughter also enjoy volunteering and supporting various non-profit organizations, and is an advocate for organ and tissue donation.
