WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- An hour’s long standoff in the 1200 Block of Armory Place in the City of Oshkosh ended with no one coming to harm Wednesday.

A 44-year-old Oshkosh man threatened to harm a law enforcement officer while speaking to police over the phone. Shortly after 2:30 pm he went to a residence in the 100 Block on North Eagle Street and fired a round at the front door of the home. The suspect knew the resident.

The Oshkosh man then drove to his home on Armory Place where a standoff took place for several hours. Unable to negotiate with the man a decision was made to deploy chemical munitions in the home. The suspect came out of the house and surrendered peacefully to officers.

He was taken to the Winnebago County Jail. He’s facing a number of charges. A search warrant executed at the man’s home turned up a loaded handgun.
