Man struck by vehicle in Grant County in March has died

The man who was struck by a vehicle after a crash in Grant County, March 27, has died from his injuries. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified today (Monday), that Alan Hensiak, 79, of Union Grove, died at University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on the night of March 27. When deputies and first responders arrived on scene, they learned, Hensiak had attempted to enter the northbound lane of HWY 151, where he struck a concrete barrier with his vehicle. After Hensiak’s vehicle came to a rest, he exited his vehicle and walked onto HWY 151, where he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
