WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- State Representative Kevin Petersen yesterday announced he will not seek another term in the State Assembly.

He has served as a state representative for 20 years. Right now he represents the 57th Assembly District, which includes Waupaca, Wautoma, and Redgranite. He was first elected in 2006.

Petersen is Speaker Pro Tempore, presiding over the Assembly when Speaker Robin Vos is absent and swearing in newly-elected Assembly Members. During his announcement Petersen thanked the 98 lawmakers who elected him to that position unanimously in each of the last two sessions.

Petersen, who lives in Waupaca, says he is looking forward to spending more time with his family.
