Correctional Officer has been arrested in Iowa County
A Correctional Officer has been arrested following an investigation. The Iowa County Sheriff’s office arrested former Correctional Officer, Adam Rice, age 33, following an investigation into misconduct during his employment. Rice had been employed as a correctional officer with the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office for approximately four years. Concerns were initially raised by Iowa County team members who identified documentation that was not consistent with standard procedures. These irregularities were brought to the attention of the leadership team, and an internal review was initiated.
To ensure transparency and impartiality, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was requested to conduct an independent investigation. Upon completion of their investigation, Sauk County authorities arrested Adam Rice on charges of: Misconduct in Public Office – Act Inconsistent with Duty, a Felony; Misconduct in Public Office – Falsifying Records and Statements, a Felony; misdemeanor Theft of Movable Property; and Possession of Illegally Obtained Prescription Medication, a misdemeanor.
On March 19, Rice was taken into custody and transported by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office to the Sauk County Jail.
