RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in a single vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Osceola that left a 52-year-old Oakfield man with serious injuries.

According to Sheriff’s officials multiple 911 calls reported the crash in front of N3369 U.S. Highway 45 at 3:32 Wednesday afternoon. Deputies, Eden Fire Department and Campbellsport Ambulance responded to the scene.

The driver had been ejected from the vehicle. Flight for Life flew him to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. He suffered serious injuries. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

It was determined his vehicle was heading north on U.S. Highway 45 and entered a ditch after failing to negotiate a curb. The vehicle struck a driveway embankment causing it to go airborne and overturn before coming to rest.

The Oakfield man was arrested for his third operating while intoxicated offense.
