RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say a 20-foot by 60-foot machine shed and machinery inside it were significantly damaged by fire Tuesday.
A nearby barn and silo were not damaged. No one was injured. A passerby called 911 to report smoke billowing from the machine shed at W2972 Highway 45 in the Town of Eden.
Heavy smoke was coming from the shed when Sheriff’s deputies and Eden Fire and First Responders arrived. Due to the potential threat to nearby structures, additional emergency resources were requested.
Assisting agencies included Campbellsport Fire and Ambulance, Mt. Calvary Fire, Town of Fond du Lac Fire and the RIT4 team.
Preliminary investigation indicates the fire was likely caused by the malfunction of a wood burner.
