House and Garage Fire in Waupaca

WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- No one was hurt and three cats were rescued when a fire damaged a home and detached garage in Waupaca Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Waupaca Area Fire District they responded for a report of a garage fire on Elm Street just before 4 pm. When firefighters arrived there was heavy smoke and fire coming from the garage, and the fire was spreading to a nearby home.

The residence was extensively damaged. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire crews were on the scene for a little over three hours.
