
RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Waupun firefighters responded to a house fire at 25 North Watertown Street at 11:30 Wednesday night.
Smoke was coming from the roof when they arrived. Fire Chief B. J. DeMaa says access to the attic was limited. After the initial knockdown of the fire, crews resumed working on accessing the attic to complete suppression efforts.
Firefighters were on the scene for approximately 3 hours. There was fire damage to the attic area and water damage from suppression operations.
The house was deemed uninhabitable. Two people were displaced by the blaze. They are being assisted by the Red Cross. No one was injured during the fire. The cause remains under investigation.
Multiple fire departments from Dodge and Fond du Lac Counties provided assistance, as well as Waupun First Responders, the Waupun Police Department, Lifestar EMS, Alliant Energy, Waupun Utilities, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center, and the Red Cross.
