A Swinging Holiday Extravaganza

RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Thrasher Opera House is thrilled to announce the return of the formidable five-piece acoustic band, Davina and The Vagabonds, for a festive and unforgettable performance, “A Vagabond Holiday,” on Saturday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Davina and The Vagabonds, known for their high-energy shows and a sound that blends New Orleans charm with Memphis soul, are bringing their signature swinging style to a collection of classic holiday songs. Audiences can expect a festive journey packed with holiday greats, with songs made famous by legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Elvis, Louis Prima, Chuck Berry, Otis Redding, Billie Holiday, Sara Bareilles, and many more.

The rollicking quintet is held together by Davina Sowers’ commanding stage presence and keyboard playing, and critics have compared her voice to a blend of Etta James, Amy Winehouse, and Billie Holiday.  Their focused, clean sound and emphasis on acoustic instruments—including acoustic bass, drums, trumpet, and trombone—set the show closer to the streets of New Orleans than a typical blues or jazz concert.
