There’s a statue of a woman in Cathedral Square Park with an inscription that reads “DEDICATED TO THE VALIANT IMMIGRANT MOTHERS.” Perhaps it’s fitting then that this is the location where the Oct. 18 “No Kings” protest was held in the city of Milwaukee.

Thousands gathered peacefully at Cathedral Square Park, where a series of speakers (including Recombobulation Area contributor Angela Lang!) spoke at the park. Earl Ingram, host of the “What’s Going On with Earl Ingram” podcast on Civic Media, emceed and spoke at the event. Maggie Daun, host of “The Maggie Daun Show” on Civic Media, also spoke at the protest. You can watch the livestream from that here on the No Kings Milwaukee YouTube Channel.

Once the speeches concluded, organizers directed the protest to march through downtown Milwaukee. I was there to take photos, which you can find below.
