RIPON, Wis. (WRPN / WAUH) – Green Lake Police have had enough of students going into public places and yelling profanities at the top of their lungs until they are removed.

In a Facebook post, Green Lake Police Chief Jason Reysen says a few students did that at the Ripon Hy-Vee store this past week. On Saturday, the same group went to the new playground at Playground Park in Green Lake and yelled expletives. Families were forced to leave the brand-new playground.

At first it was thought the students were participating in a TikTok challenge, recording and posting for views. Chief Reysen says he heard from some residents that was not the case, however.

The behavior was described as offensive, rude, scary, and dangerous to the other children at the playground prompting their families to leave.

Chief Reysen says children that continue the profane behavior will either have a juvenile referral or be issued a citation for disorderly conduct.
