Ripon Woman Killed in Traffic Crash

RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- A 32-year-old Ripon woman died after her car collided with a semi in Washington County late Saturday morning.

According to Sheriff’s officials it happened at the intersection of Highway 175 and County Road S in the Town of Addison. The first deputy to arrive at the scene and bystanders extricated the woman from the car and started rescue efforts. She was taken to Froedtert Medical Center in West Bend where she died from her injuries.

The 53-year-old Pennsylvania man driving the semi was taken to a nearby medical facility, treated for minor injuries and released.

A preliminary investigation determined the woman was heading west on County Road S and failed to yield from a stop sign to the southbound semi on Highway 175 causing the collision.

It was the fifth fatal motor vehicle crash in Washington County this year.
