Laconia High School Teacher Resigns
RIPON, Wis (WRPN)-The Laconia High School English teacher who posted critical comments about Charlie Kirk on social media after his murder has resigned through a mutual separation agreement with the Rosendale-Brandon School District.
The comments she made on social media enraged Kirk supporters in the community who posted that she should not be teaching students due to her opinion of a man who was becoming a major player in politics. Rosendale-Brandon School District Superintendent Wayne Weber initially responded by sharing with the community that Kaytie Storms had been spoken too.
In an update posted on the district’s website yesterday Weber informed families and staff that, “After much consideration, the District determined that the best way forward for the students, staff, and the administration, as well as the community at large, was to enter into a mutual separation agreement with Ms. Storms, which includes a severance payment.” By law she was given a seven-day period during which the agreement can be revoked.
In a post Wednesday Weber thanked her for her service, talked about the transition to a substitute teacher and the open position. Weber says the District concluded that the agreement reached was in the best interest of the community.
