Waushara County Sex Offender Sent Back to Prison
WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- A Waushara County judge recently sentenced a 63-year-old sex offender to 12 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision on three counts of possession of child pornography. Michael Scholler entered “no contest” pleas during a hearing on August 25th. Twelve similar charges were dismissed on prosecutor motions.
According to the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office a year ago today they got a report from the Department of Corrections that a witness had seen Scholler viewing child pornography. When detectives talked with Scholler he admitted looking at pornography, which he was prohibited from doing as a sex offender.
He gave the detectives permission to look through his cell phone and they found numerous images of child pornography. After he was arrested, he admitted looking up child pornography and having an addiction to it.
His sentence is in addition to the 5 years in prison he received when his probation was revoked.
