Illinois Teen Arrested After Fond du Lac County Chase

RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- It took five miles, but a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy was able to pull over a speeding vehicle early this morning and arrest the driver.

The deputy was doing stationary radar on Interstate 41 near Church Road in the Town of Byron just after 1 am. A vehicle went by doing 88 miles an hour in the 70 mile an hour zone. It also had a loud exhaust.

The deputy began pursuit. The fleeing vehicle exceeded 130 miles an hour at several points during the chase. The vehicle eventually pulled over on I-41 near Hickory Street and the 18-year-old Illinois man driving it was arrested and booked into the County Jail on felony fleeing and eluding an officer and possession of THC charges.
