RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Ripon, WI – The Ripon Public Library is pleased to offer a fresh slate of fall programming. Keep reading to discover all that September has to offer for all ages! Thanks to the Friends of the Library, and other generous partners, programming is always free, and registration is not required unless noted.

RENOVATON UPDATES

Ripon Public Library is thrilled to provide updates on our renovation project! We invite you to visit our website and Facebook page for the latest information. There may also be occasions when we need to close temporarily or alter our programs. We recommend checking our event page before coming to the library.

Temporary Entrance Notice Enter Library Via Jefferson St. Side Door

 Beginning Monday, Sept. 15 Until further notice

 During the renovation of our main doors, the library will temporarily switch to using the Jefferson Street side door as our entrance. Staff members will happily assist patrons who have mobility challenges with the door as needed! The elevator will still be accessible.

Join Us for Trivia Night at Roadhouse Pizza! Are you ready to put your knowledge to the test? Gather your friends, charge up your smartphones, and head over to Roadhouse Pizza for an exciting Trivia Night designed especially for adults! Form a team and compete for the ultimate trivia champion title! Bring your smartphones to participate in interactive trivia rounds. Delicious food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Geared for adults. Families welcome!

FRIDAYS | SEPT-5 – OCT 10 |10-11:30 AM | Planning AHEAD | ADULTS*

End-of-life planning is the ultimate gift you can give your loved ones. Join us for a multi-session program that gives you the tools and resources to help begin or continue the end-of-life planning process. This type of planning, including advance care planning, is not just for people who are very old or ill. At any age, a medical crisis could leave you unable to communicate your own health care decisions. Plan ahead. Don’t leave a mess, leave a legacy.

THURSDAYS SEP 11 – OCT 16 | 10 AM | STORYTIME + STAY & PLAY | KIDS & CAREGIVERS

Storytime combines active learning with fun, bringing early literacy and STEM concepts to life through engaging stories, music, movement, and activities. Each session integrates research findings from Every Child Ready to Read, offering valuable tips, demonstrations of best practices, and essential building blocks to support early literacy development.

After Storytime, enjoy STAY & PLAY in the Romper Room! Kids can burn off extra energy and build their social and physical skills in a lively environment. Caregivers enjoy camaraderie and connections!

Storytime and Stay and Play do not require registration.

The next session of Storytime will be offered Wednesdays at 10 AM, November 5 through December 10.

Get revved up for a morning of exploration and fun! Kids and families cozy up to a fleet of exciting vehicles—think big rigs and emergency response marvels—plus dive into interactive games and activities. Buckle up for an unforgettable community bash packed with adventure and entertainment!

Find the library squad at Touch a Truck! Bounce into our outdoor Romper Room for games, books, play and relaxation. Read with local Girl Scout stars and chat with Kala Peterson, the Membership Engagement Coordinator for the Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes. Yes, cookies will be served! Keep your eyes peeled for special appearances by Bingo & Bluey, not to mention the hilarious antics of strolling performers, Miller & Mike. 

SUN | SEPT 14 | 1-4 PM | Tabletop Role-Playing Game TTRPG TIME | AGES 11+

Looking to roll dice and craft stories with the Ripon community? Join us the second Sunday of the month for an array of tabletop roleplaying games. We’ll have dedicated game facilitators ready to run one-shots, as well as room for anyone interested in running a session themselves!

TUES | SEPT 16| 1-2:30 PM | MEMORY CAFÉ| ADULTS

This event is designed for family members and full-time caregivers of seniors who might be dealing with mild to moderate cognitive impairment, dementia, or Alzheimer’s. Participants will foster meaningful connections through a variety of activities, including games, music, snacks, crafts, and more.

Both seniors and their caregivers will benefit from assistance, partake in gently guided interactions, connect with others facing similar challenges, and discover local resources available to them.

The Mighty Red by Louise Erdrich

In “The Mighty Red,” Pulitzer Prize-winning author Louise Erdrich weaves a tale of love, natural forces, and the tragic effects of uncontrollable circumstances. Set in North Dakota’s Red River Valley, the narrative centers on a wedding filled with desire and jealousy. Gary Geist, anxious about inheriting farms, yearns to marry Kismet Poe, a whimsical young woman. Kismet’s best friend, Hugo, also loves her and aims to win her heart. Meanwhile, Kismet’s mother, Crystal, drives a truck and grapples with visions and worries for her daughter’s future. The novel explores humanity’s connection to the earth and the complexities of love.
