Green Bay Area Public Schools now responsible for district elections
GREEN BAY, WI—(WGBW)— The City of Green Bay’s city clerk will no longer provide election services to the Green Bay Area Public School District (GBAPS). This means that the GBAPS will be responsible for handling paperwork, verifying signatures, and campaign finance documents.
The city will still conduct the elections, which means that ballots, polling places, and election results will not change. The city has handled school district elections since the early 1980s.
The GBAPS voted unanimously to accept the policy change with no discussion at its August 25 meeting.
The change is effective immediately. The next election for the Green Bay Area Public Schools District board will be in 2026. The GBAPS Board Executive Assistant will act as the clerk to accept election documentation.
