
Kaukauna Man Arrested After Three County Chase
RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies took a 35-year-old Kaukauna man into custody early this morning following a three-county chase.
According to Sheriff’s officials the pursuit began in Kaukauna where police tried to stop a vehicle on Interstate 41 for speeding after the vehicle fled from a traffic stop.
A Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputy picked up the pursuit trying to stop the suspect’s vehicle before it crossed into Fond du Lac County. A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy tried to stop the vehicle when it entered the county, but it increased its speed weaving in both lanes.
Stop sticks were successfully deployed on I-41 at Korth Road deflating all four of the suspect vehicle’s tires. The vehicle stopped just south of County Highway N and the suspect was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
He is facing charges of fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, and suspicion of operating while impaired. The chase in Fond du Lac County covered 2.7 miles. No one was injured.
