Cyber Tip Leads to Charges
RIPON, Wis. (WRPN)- Ten counts of possession of child pornography have been brought against a 35-year-old Fond du Lac man.
Bond was set at $20,000 cash when Wayne Bryan made his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County Court on the charges July 25th. A preliminary hearing is scheduled on August 28th.
Fond du Lac Police got a cyber tip on July 15th about a person who was suspected of sending money to a child out of state in exchange for explicit photographs. Detectives quickly identified Bryan as a possible suspect.
When detectives contacted him, their investigation led to the discovery of child pornography on one of his electronic devices. Fond du Lac Police Chief Aaron Goldstein says, “Protecting children from exploitation is one of our most critical responsibilities.”
