
Fond du Lac Shooting Suspect Sought
RIPON, Wis. (WRPN)- Fond du Lac Police are looking for a 22-year-old Elm Grove man suspected of firing a gun from an apartment late Saturday night.
Police say rounds from the gun entered two adjacent apartments, but no one was hurt. Officers responded to a disturbance near South Marr and Division Streets about 11:30 pm. They learned a person was taken to a hospital by private vehicle for knife wounds. They also learned about the gun being fired in the apartment.
Detectives conducted interviews and gathered evidence. They were able to develop a person of interest Tyler Niederbaumer. A temporary felony warrant was issued for his arrest for recklessly endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon. A probation and parole warrant was also obtained for him.
Fond du Lac Police Chief Aaron Goldstein stated, “This kind of reckless and dangerous behavior has no place in our community.” Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Kristina Meilahn at 920-322-3713 or the Crime Alert line at 920-322-3740 if they wish to remain anonymous.
