Body Found at Scene of House Fire

RIPON, Wis. (WRPN/WAUH) – The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man who died in a house fire.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2900 block of Oakridge Road in the Town of Clayton just after 9:30 Saturday morning. The first deputy on the scene reported the roof on fire and the entire house filled with smoke.

Fire departments extinguished the blaze and found a man’s body inside the home. Eight fire departments and an ambulance service responded to the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office did not release the identity of the deceased. They also said their thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of those involved.
