MADISON, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – Wisconsin’s two U.S. senators are split in their reactions to President Trump’s bombing of three Iran nuclear facilities Saturday.

Republican Senator Ron Johnson told Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News he supports the president’s decision to not let Iran become a nuclear power.

“President Trump has been very clear. We could not allow Iran to become a nuclear power. They were getting too close. They simply would not listen to him. They wouldn’t give it up. They could have given this up years ago.”

Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin said the administration’s actions without Congressional approval ignores the U.S. Constitution, putting service members at risk and pushing the country to “the verge of an all out war.”

Wisconsin House Representatives took to social media to share their thoughts, with Democrats condemning the attack and Republicans applauding it. Country officials’ immediate reaction to Pres. Trump’s covert operation can be read here.
