Milwaukee Bucks deal Khris Middleton before NBA Trade Deadline

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WAUK) – The Milwaukee Bucks are trading three-time all-star Khris Middleton in a multi-player swap with the Washington Wizards.

The deal was first reported by ESPN.

Middleton, who was named to the NBA’s All-Star team in 2019, 2020, and 2022, played for 11 and a half seasons in Milwaukee. The former second-round draft pick was acquired in a trade with the Detroit Pistons in 2013.

Also being traded is the Bucks’ 2024 1st-round draft pick, A.J. Johnson, who appeared in seven games this year for the Bucks.

In return, Milwaukee is getting veteran Kyle Kuzma from Washington. Kuzma, who has played eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Wizards, won an NBA title with the Lakers in 2020 and was named to the NBA’s All-Rookie team in 2018.

The Bucks will also receive Wisconsin native Patrick Baldwin, Jr. in the deal. Baldwin is in his third year in the NBA after one season at UW-Milwaukee and has played in 91 games in his career after being drafted 28th overall in the 1st round by Golden State in 2022.

The Bucks and Wizards also agreed to a pick swap, and the Wizards are sending the Bucks a 2nd-round pick as part of the deal.
