Milwaukee County Supervisor Juan Miguel Martinez has taken to social media to clarify that he has no evidence that supports the claim, emphasizing the importance of accurate information.

This comes as Milwaukee city leaders, including Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Common Council President José Pérez, recently hosted an immigration information session at the Mitchell Street Library, which drew over 300 people. The event aimed to address immigration concerns and reassure the community of the city’s commitment to treating everyone with dignity and respect.

The informational meeting featured immigration attorneys, police, fire officials, and representatives from the Mexican Consulate. It was part of broader efforts to address anxiety within the immigrant community, which has been heightened by federal actions and unverified reports.

Meanwhile, immigrant rights groups continue to organize community meetings, including one scheduled for Saturday at Voces De La Frontera. It follows the suspension of a teacher who distributed MPS’s safe haven resolution, although the district claims the suspension had more to do with the method of communication. The meeting tomorrow is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Mitchell Street office for Voces De La Frontera.
