De Pere School District place $22 referendum on November ballot

DE PERE, WI – (WGBW & WISS) – The Unified School District of De Pere is placing a $22 million referendum to fund critical maintenance, safety, and security measures in the school district. The district’s Board of Education will host town hall meetings, in person and virtually, to respond to staff and community questions.

The school district says the November 5th referendum does not include any new construction, additions to buildings, or new buildings. It will strictly fund maintenance, security, and safety. 

If approved, the school district says the referendum will fund the following items:

  • Upgrades to several buildings to improve entrance and exit safety control
  • Repair or replacement of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems that are failing
  • Repair and replacement of leaking roofs
  • Improving ADA accessibility
  • Repair and replacement of leaking windows, doors, and walls
