U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., responds when asked whether he or Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will accept the outcome if Democrat Kamala Harris wins the November presidential election while on The Earl Ingram Show.

“I sure hope so,” Johnson says. “Unfortunately, you know, here in the state of Wisconsin that we have a governor who vetoed the types of bills that would restore confidence in our election system. So, you’re asking me a hypothetical question that I really can’t answer because I don’t know how many different ways Democrats are gonna want to cheat here.”

Johnson’s comments lead to a heated exchange with host Earl Ingram and guest host Sandy Williams. The two reminding Johnson of the multiple court rulings and lack of credible evidence related to any widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

However, Johnson stresses the idea that stronger measures, like enhanced voter ID requirements and clean voter rolls, are necessary to prevent fraud and boost public trust. The hosts ask about his suggestion one party favors less secure elections.

“Many current Democratic policies would make it easier to cheat,” he replies.
