MADISON, Wis. (WMDX) – The famed sunburst chairs at the UW Memorial Union Terrace will soon be put away for the winter.

Officials from the Memorial Union announced their last day on the terrace will be October 28.

There are more than 2,000 chairs and 400 tables. They were brought out for the season on April 17.

Staff said for the first time since 2017, the indoor Lakeview Lounge will be open year-round.

About a million people visit the Terrace every year.
