Trump and Biden Battle for Wisconsin: Trump’s Waukesha Visit Intensifies Campaign Race

WAUKESHA, Wis (Civic Media) – Former President Donald Trump is set to make an appearance in Waukesha next week. The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 1st at the Waukesha County Expo Center.

Trump’s campaign released a statement saying he’ll deliver safety and affordability to Wisconsin. The statement emphasized key parts of Trump’s platform, including securing the nation’s borders, reclaiming America’s position as a world leader, bringing peace through strength, and driving down inflation.

The former president is currently facing legal challenges. He is on trial, facing 34 felony counts related to falsifying business records in connection with hush money payments made during the final days of the 2016 campaign. These charges are meant to stifle embarrassing stories from surfacing. The judge in the case has other court matters on Wednesdays, allowing Trump to not be in court, instead, being at the Expo Center.

The latest Marquette poll shows Trump ahead of President Biden in the state, with a 51% to 49% lead. In the recent April Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll, it was revealed that Biden maintains a lead in only one of the crucial seven states that hold the key to determining the outcome of the election. Biden holds a slight advantage of 2% points in Michigan. In Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, Biden finds himself trailing behind the presumptive GOP nominee by a narrow margin. The Biden deficit in Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, and North Carolina is even larger.

While Trump gears up for his appearance in Waukesha, the Biden campaign has also been active in Wisconsin. Vice President Kamala Harris recently visited La Crosse, and President Biden himself made a stop in Madison earlier this month.

In addition to his Waukesha visit, Trump has also announced a rally in Freeland, Michigan later in the day on May 1st. Ticketing for the events is being run through the Trump campaign website.
