
5 Die in Columbia County Crash
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said five people died in a head-on crash between a pickup truck and passenger car Sunday morning in the Town of West Point. At 11:25, the sheriff’s office responded to the crash on Highway 60 near Reynolds Road. Columbia County Sheriff Roger Brandner said the pickup truck was traveling west and the passenger car was headed east on Highway 60 when the passenger car crossed the centerline and struck the pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck was a 70 year old man from Prairie Du Sac. The driver of the passenger car was a 17-year-old girl from Merrimac. Her passengers were a 42-year-old-man from Merrimac, a 62-year-old woman from Blue Mounds and a 26-year-old man from Prairie Du Sac. All died at the scene, except the 26-year-old man who was taken to UW-Madison and died later.
