WAUSAU, Wis. (WXCO) – Three candidates for Mayor will be narrowed down and a record number of people are vying for Village of Trustee in Kronenwetter.

The Wausau Mayoral race takes off tomorrow as Incumbent Katie Rosenberg is facing two challengers in District 4, Alder Doug Diny and resident Christopher Wood. Voters will select one candidate and the top two will advance to the April general election.

Voters in District 4 had a three-way race to replace Diny on the Council. But Leskys told the Wausau Daily Herald that he has removed himself from the race. Leaving Tom Neal and Debra Weiss.

Primary elections will also happen in Kronenwetter where nine Village Trustee candidates will be cut to six. These include Timothy Shaw, Sean Dumias, Ken Charneski, Joel Straub, Kim Tapper, Ryan Leff, Scott Dauel, Cindy Lee Buchkowski-Hoffman and Aaron Myszka.

The County Board Supervisor for District 15 will have 3 listed on the ballot but Alexander Vedvik recently withdrew from the race. Leaving Incumbent Joel Straub and Randy Fifrick.

Meanwhile, seven candidates are running for the Marshfield School District School Board. Sam Steiner, Frances Bohon, Karen Ott, Nicole Forst, Steven Kizer, Richard Kranz and Charles Ether Norton.

The Wisconsin DMV says you can use a Wisconsin driver license or ID to show at the polls. Click here for a list of acceptable IDs in Marathon County. The DMV also offers free State IDs.
