Holy Cripes, We’re Goin’ on the Radio. Charlie Berens Brings Cripescast to Civic Media

(Madison, Wis.) Charlie Berens, Wisconsin comedian and creator of the Manitowoc Minute, is bringing his show The Cripescast Podcast to the Civic Media radio network. Beginning February 4, 2023, the Cripescast will air as a weekly radio program, weekends at noon.
“Charlie is a dynamic talent who connects with listeners and knows how to make them think and laugh, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him join us on the air,” said Civic Media CEO Sage Weil. “Also, for some reason Aaron Rodgers wouldn’t return our calls.”
In addition to his stand-up comedy, Berens is a New York Times Bestselling Author of “The Midwest Survival Guide”, Emmy-winning journalist, and musician. He’s been featured on Comedy Central, FOX, CBS, Funny or Die, TBS, Variety, MTV News and more. In addition to his weekly podcast, Berens regularly posts content across all social media platforms and has amassed over 7.5 million followers.
“As Civic Media expands across the state, we’re always looking for creative ways to introduce ourselves,” Weil said. “We could either go to a lot of potlucks and Friday fish fries, or we could ask Charlie to help us meet folks. Charlie Berens is as Wisconsin as it gets.”
“Bringing the Cripescast to radio is just the butter on my cheese,” Berens said. “Our goal is to make each interview as exciting as a Midwest goodbye in just a fraction of the time.”
The Cripescast features Berens interviewing guests with Midwest connections on a variety of topics. From former Green Bay Packer Donald Driver to his own family, Charlie has authentic conversations with fascinating guests t and of course shares laughs along the way.
The Cripescast will air at 12 Noon on Saturdays and Sundays across the Civic Media radio network and stream on the Civic Media app. With the addition of WGBW in Green Bay, Civic Media now spans 11 stations across Wisconsin, with more on the way.
