Over 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's and nearly 12 million Americans provide unpaid care for their loved ones. Many members of our WMDX team know what it's like to care for someone who gets that life-changing diagnosis. The Alzheimer's Association is painting a different picture. They're dedicated to finding the cure, advocating for those with demensia, advancing critical research and working toward prevention methods along the way. WMDX is a regular sponsor and participant in the Madison Alzheimer's Association walk in October.
If you're a John & Gordy regular, you already know we're advocates for the Dane County Humane Society. With a beautiful shelter and campus on the east side and thrift stores around the county, the DCHS is a warming cause for our local strays and animals. It's likely that you know someone who has adopted an awesome pet from their shelter! They take in unwanted or stray animals, giving them the care and attention they need to rehabilitate and get rehomed. They provide vital services and education for both animals and animal-owners in our area and even take injured or orphaned wildlife!

St Vincent de Paul isn't just a fabulous thrift store, it's an organization that provides for our neighbors facing financial hardship. With the proceeds from their stores, donations and volunteers, they run a food pantry, free pharmacy, give microloans and more. Their stores also focus on environmental sustainability by encouraging us to recycle while providing furniture, clothing and items to those who cannot financially buy new.
