Just one block away from our studio, the Greater Hayward House of Hope is the last step in a young man's addiction recovery journey before venturing out into life again. By meeting his basic needs with food, clothing and shelter, connectinghim with mentors, and faith-based counselling, men leave the home with the emotional and spiritual tools they need to combat addiction and meet their full potential. Shop for holiday gifts through their online storefront where they sell wood products crafted by residents, volunteer or donate to help strengthen their mission.

As a community-led group through the Spider Lake Church, the Northwood Community Food Shelf keeps food insecurity at bay, feeding hundreds of families and individuals every week. They hold food drives and work with local organizations to keep the shelf full for the elderly, sick, injured and low-income. No hungry person is turned away. In addition to the food shelf, they promote public policies to end future hunger. Donations can be dropped off at the church or keep up with their food drives on their community Facebook page.
