Scary movies and some good news (Hour 2)

October 18, 2024

At the top of the hour, it is, of course Maggie and the Millionaires Talking Money. Her special guest today is Michael Madowitz. Mike is the principal economist for the Roosevelt Institute, a think tank that focuses on corporate and public power, labor and wages, and the economics of race and gender inequality. Mike also serves on the Data Users Advisory Committee for the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. He and Maggie talk about inflation, a critical issue to many Americans. For all the attention "inflation" receives in political advertising and on debate stages, many of us lack a solid understanding of it. Not to mention how it actually affects the economy. So, now a few answers!

And then, it's the last half hour on Friday. So, it's time for What's Good, Local, and Overlooked with Civic Media's own Teri Barr. First up, cranberries! Wisconsin once again earns the title of Cranberry Capital of the World. Maggie shares some family cranberry traditions- she promises to post a few recipes next week! After a bit of a reprieve from the spooks of the week, we share our favorite scary movies.
