Simple Life & Jolly Good

November 20, 2024

So happy to have Michael Friedman on the show from Simple Life Hospitality. Not only because he brought us pumpkin pie AND a whole case of coffee, but he also shared more details on renting your home out for the 2025 Draft, or renting a home for the Draft or for any reason. Simple Life even has gift certificates for the holiday season. They truly think of everything! Then, Civic Media's Teri Barr joins with another "Slice of Wisconsin" and focuses on the wonders of Jolly Good soda!

Humpday Meanderings

November 20, 2024

We started the morning by discussing last night's UWGB men's basketball game. The guys won, but Jim was unhappy about the conversations around him during the game. How do you feel about that? Is talking about movies or personal things at a sporting event ok? Today is Peanut Butter Fudge Day and American Teachers Day. We find out that Jim's grandkids call him "Grumpy." Nikki, Todd, and listeners LOVE it. (We're not sure that Jim is in love with it.)

Turning The Page & Laughter

November 19, 2024

Douglas Darby & Jacob Jansen from Turning the Page are back with the show. The organization was created to bring different educational programs into the communities through connection, speaking and media resources in which we focus on mental health, substance use disorders, connections, behavioral change and hope. We love sharing their story and believe in the work they are doing. Then comedian Kristin Lytie brings a few smiles while promoting her show coming up this Sunday at GBUFO Gift Shop & Record Store.

Tuesday Meanderings

November 19, 2024

Maino continues to hunt for his 30-point buck, so Nikki Z. sits in with The Mayor. In the paper today, there is a poll that states Green Bay is in the top 12 best places to live and the top 11 for cities to retire. It's pretty cool stuff! Jim also tells us about one of the city's former mayors who only had a 4th-grade education. (I guess it doesn't take much to get the gig.) Jim also has an idea for a Christmas card for Todd. (Todd doesn't do Christmas cards...so this should be interesting.)

Monday Morning Meanderings Minus Maino

November 18, 2024

Maino's at deer camp, so Nikki Z. sits in with Jim. We start the morning off talking about the Packers, the Badgers, the Bucks, and the Herd. Jim talks about taking his real estate license online. He claims he aced the tests but hopes they don't check to make sure he read the text and watched the videos (cuz he didn't). Somehow, the conversation turns to holiday plans, and Jim steps up with ideas for making YOUR holidays special.

Football Friday & Live Music

November 15, 2024

The Mayor, Jim Schmitt, must head out to a meeting, so the lovely and talented Nikki Z. sits in with the boys. Plus, it's Football Friday courtesy of Burkel's One Block Over! Today's special guest is former Green Bay Packer Bill Schroeder! Not only was he a great team member, but he has also been a great member of our community. Bill mentions that when you're allowed to be a part of a platform like the NFL, you need to use it to do good things, and he certainly has done that. Then, in our Heights Pub & Parlor LIVE Music Series, we feature the music of Paul Hanna. Ashley is also in from Heights to let us know what specials are in store for us this weekend and the live music they will feature. (And Maino goes crazy over her shoes.)

TGI FRIYAY!

October 25, 2024

The Mayor has the morning off, and Nikki Z. joins John to help kick off your weekend! Nikki brings in some very stylish readers for herself, but John decides to try them on. He loves how great he can see but looks a bit like Iris Apfel. Don't know who she is? Here...enjoy!

Northeast Wisconsin New Bureau Chief Lisa Hale joins to tell John and Nikki what to expect on this weekend's edition of NEWisco Weekend. She shares that this weekend's show focuses on Halloween and everything "spooky."

Mark Husen & Maino’s Ailments

October 18, 2024

Our friend Mark Husen is IN STUDIO this morning from Bellin Sports Medicine for his weekly segment with the guys. Besides talking about the excellent services with Bellin Sports Medicine, the conversation turns, as we suspected, to Maino's pinched nerve in his neck. Mark has some great ideas to help work that out, and then Nikki Z. brings in lidocaine patches to help soothe his pain. We now call her "Nurse Nikki" here at the station.
