Weekly Best of Dom Salvia Show for Oct 14-18th
Catch up on these best segments from the week!
From the first hour of Tuesday's show: Maggie Daun joins Dom for a bit of overtime to address Trump's proposed economic plan. You know, the one that most economists agree would weaken our economy by raising inflation and deficits. Now, both Maggie and Dom have formal training in economists. So they do know a thing or two when it comes to tariffs, taxes, and trade wars (oh my). And when Trump claims that his proposed tariffs are just "a figure of speech," it shows that our two have a better grasp on the topic than he ever will.
Next, from Tuesday's second hour: Hey conductor? I'd like to get off this Crazy Train. On Monday, the 45th POTUS hosted an event billed as a Town Hall. Dom and Jess thought they understood the format of a Town Hall. What we saw was... not that. Instead, we saw Trump take a few pre-ordained questions. And then hard-pivot away from questions aboard the Crazy Train . And stand, wobbling and smirking in the only way he knows how to dance, for nearly 40 minutes.
Then, in Thursday's first hour: Who determines when America is great? We. The. People. Eloisa Gomez joins us for a discussion on voter engagement. Eloisa is an author (Somos Latinas: Voices of Wisconsin Latina Activists) and activist with the League of Women Voters, Wisconsin. As part of her efforts with the League, Eloisa co-founded Comité por El Voto Latino, an outreach and advocacy group focused on increasing engagement and excitement with Latino voters.
Finally, from Wednesday's first hour: A President for All or A President for One, a conversation with Gwen Moore. Gwen Moore, sitting Congresswoman representing Wisconsin's 4th district, joins us to discuss the current state of the Presidential race.

Ah yes, the best policies are “a figure of speech” (Hour 1)
Maggie Daun joins Dom for a bit of overtime to address Trump's proposed economic plan. You know, the one that most economists agree would weaken our economy by raising inflation and deficits. The one that Trump wants to fund through tariffs- the most beautiful word according to him. THAT economic plan.

Weekly Best of Dom Salvia Show for Oct 12
Catch up on the best segments from this week of The Dom Salvia Show!
First, an animated exchange from Tuesday with Maggie Daun on the continued lies spewing forth from senate candidate Eric Hovde. He chose to propagate a dangerous lie about FEMA being out of money, due to aid going to undocumented migrants. These lies harm real people and we absolutely cannot accept them.
Next, from Thursday, how IS help for states impacted by natural disasters getting to them? Well, through some socialist policies. And that's pretty darn good! Socialism built many of this country's best features.
Then a conversation from Thursday with John Nichols of the Cap Times and The Nation on the presidential race. As John writes, Harris presents like a Lincoln-era Republican, and as we all see, Trump espouses eugenics. If that last linked article doesn't spell it out clearly enough for you, you may prefer this one.
Finally, some outrage and humor with Matt Rothschild on Wednesday, responding to Jesse Waters bizarre assertion that a man who votes for a woman transitions into a woman. Well, at least then they'll have bodily autonomy...

Eric Hovde Lies… (Hour 1)
What is truth? Is it subjective or can we agree to a few standards on the difference between fact and opinion? When it comes to where and how the federal government spends money, we do actually have some facts upon which to rely. So when politicians come up with lies about how disaster relief money is being spent on non-disaster relief causes, that's a problem. And that's exactly what Trump and his carpetbagging crony Eric Hovde are doing now. We round up a few more of Hovde's latest lies that hurt the people he'd deign to represent. Maggie Daun joins for the top of the show.

Civic Media Spotlight for Weekend of October 5th & 6th (Hour 2)
Kicking off the hour, the Chad Holmes Show discusses the Wausau Ballot Drop Box being returned and we discuss where we stand and where we go with Nancy Stencil.
Then, in honor of playoff baseball, Maggie talks with the youngest living player to run the bases with the Negro Leagues, Dennis Biddle. Mr. Biddle shares some of his most impactful experiences on the diamond and in his life since. He started Yesterday's Negro league Baseball Players Foundation in 1996 to support players and their legacies.
Next, Charles Franklin Professor of Law and Public Policy and Director of the Marquette Law School Poll joins the Dom Salvia Show for a half hour the day of his most recent poll dropping. Charles brings some good news for the Harris-Walz ticket and for Tammy Baldwin in the most recent poll.
Finally, writer for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Comedian, Paul Mecurio joins Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba. Paul talks about working on a sports show, working on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and his show Permission to Speak, that is coming to Milwaukee.

Language Matters (Hour 1)
Maggie Daun joins us for the top of the hour, as does Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul. Dom, Maggie, and Josh dig into the differences between voter fraud and election fraud. Voter fraud- when individuals commit fraud by casting non-legal votes- is exceedingly rare. Election fraud on the other hand- when groups or organizations work to stop legal votes from being cast- abounds. In fact, Trump-appointed election officials declared our electoral systems entirely secure.
Next, Dom checks in on Trump's rally today in Waunakee, deep in blue blue Dane County. Shockingly, Trump presented lies after falsehoods alongside complaints about crowd sizes. We're trying to find a balance between sane-washing and giving free air time to this wannabe dictator. This past weekend, Trump went even further than before in his hatred-fueled ranting. Looking for someone else who refuses to simplify what Trump says? Check out Aaron Rupar.

It’s time to choose(Hour 1)
For the first half hour, Maggie Daun has more to say on the matter of abortion. Trump says women won't even be thinking about it if he's re-elected. We say, women won't be able to STOP thinking about abortion until it full bodily autonomy rights are restored and codified in national law.
Next, Bill Carroll- President of Wisconsin Teamsters Join Council 39- joins Dom. This local chapter of the Teamsters chose to endorse Kamala Harris. This, despite the national Teamsters organization refusing to give either major party candidate their endorsement. So why did the national Teamsters abstain from endorsing and why are Wisco Teamsters charting their own course? Tune in!

Wow that debate was a rush! (Hour 1)
Y'all, that debate was fun to watch at times. Horribly infuriating and devastating at times- and so, so gratifying at others. We check in with Maggie Daun, Harvey Kaye, Matt Rothschild, and a whole host of friends on the phone about their reflections on the debate. We all saw a hell of a show from the two candidates and we're taking a day- just one- to revel in how Donald Trump made a complete ass of himself in front of dozens of millions of people.
