Luke Mathers
Guess What? It’s Gonna Be May (Hour 1)
Over the weekend, President Biden spoke at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. We share some of his best zingers, as well as part of host Colin Jost’s speech. Luke Mathers joins us for some Tuesday Tangents about decency in politics. Donald Trump is the furthest thing from human decency, while Joe Biden campaigns on fighting for the soul of America. Todd and Luke also talk about Wisconsin’s senate race and the failings of “OC” Eric Hovde.

Mike Johnson Defends Democracy? (Hour 1)
Yesterday’s show was jam-packed full of Earth Day conservation tips, so the weekend news had to wait until today. This past weekend was incredibly consequential. Speaker Mike Johnson brought foreign aid votes, including Ukraine, to the floor, and they all passed with varying degrees of success. While we disagree with nearly everything Mike Johnson says and does, he was on the right side of history this time as he supports Ukraine.
Luke Mathers continues the conversation on Ukrainian aid on today’s edition of Tuesday Tangents! He and Todd also debate the ethics of bringing NIL money into high school sports. Todd is firmly against it, but Luke is open to the idea.

Republicans Have A Unity Problem (Hour 1)
Here in Wisconsin, we’re lucky to have Bob Uecker continuing to call Brewers games at 90 years old. Remember to tune in to your local Brewers broadcast and enjoy this sports radio legend. Our friend Jeff Perry calls in and talks about engineering Brewers games in the 80’s with Todd.
Todd also rounds up the latest stories on threats to democracy in our state and our nation. At the bottom of the hour, we invite Luke Mathers to embark on some Tuesday Tangents about this subject. We also talk about what’s grinding Luke’s gears. As per usual, it’s the latest poor performance by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Eclipse Aviators And Presidential Ice Cream (Hour 1)
Today, we take your calls on yesterday’s spectacular solar eclipse. Todd and Aaron went up to the roof to see it, and maybe in twenty years, they can take a trip to Argentina to see the next one!
We also share some unfortunate breaking news. In Arizona, the state supreme court has upheld a total abortion ban. This aligns with Trump’s new stated position on abortion that states should determine their own laws.
At the bottom of the hour, Civic Media’s Executive Producer joins us for another edition of Tuesday Tangents with Luke Mathers! Yesterday, Luke was on the scene at Madison College, covering President Biden’s address on student loans. It was his first time seeing Biden in person, and he tells us all about it– including an unfortunate lack of ice cream.
Luke and Todd also catch up on both NCAA and NBA basketball. Currently, the Bucks are grinding Luke’s gears, and he tells us why.

Just Another Mathers Monday (Hour 1)
Today, we have a Monday edition of Tuesday Tangents with Luke Mathers. If there’s one thing both Todd and Luke love, it’s college athletics, so they round up the weekend’s March Madness games.
This morning, we received updates on Donald Trump’s legal woes. On one hand, he will no longer be allowed to delay the Stormy Daniels campaign deception case. On the other hand, in New York, the appeals court has lightened Mr. Trump’s load. Rather than approximately $450 million, he has to pay $172 million. He and his sons are also no longer barred from operating their business in the state.
On Friday, Representative Mike Gallagher announced his resignation from congress. Today, we break down the response so far and share Todd’s thoughts. We also take your calls on the controversy.

“The Apprentice” Is Long Gone (Hour 1)
Today, Todd brings us an update on Donald Trump’s finances. Unsurprisingly, Trump is broke. Even considering his real estate holdings, he cannot make bail. His campaign finances aren’t much better. According to NBC, small dollar donations are drying up, putting him into an increasingly dire situation. It turns out, when you use campaign money for personal matters, people are reluctant to donate more.
We then herald in the first full day of Spring with a new edition of Tuesday Tangents with Luke Mathers! He and Todd discuss politicians who claim to run on their ideas. People like “OC” Eric Hovde have no ideas or solutions.

Folks, we are here for you today with a super packed show and it all starts out with a bomb threat called into Butler Middle School in Waukesha and the TwitterX account which some feel are could be responsible for this and other hate fueled incidents. Then Civic Media's own Executive Producer, Luke Mathers joins Jane and Greg to talk about the Robin Vos recall efforts, as well as California Landowner/Senate Candidate Eric Hovde and his evolving attitudes towards corporate taxes.
