Chad Holmes
Civic Media Spotlight for April 27th & 28th (Hour 2)
Kicking off this hour of the Civic Media Spotlight, Ron Brooks VP from the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) joined Maino & the Mayor to talk a bit more about the WAMI awards that will take place in Green Bay on May 19th at the Epic Center. The show also discusses with Ron the importance of music and the arts in schools. Ron also announces the 2024 inductees into the WAMI Hall of Fame!
Then, Pat Kreitlow shares his thoughts on how Republican legislators blocked millions for the UW System until they could blackmail diversity programs. Now they’re blocking millions to clean up contaminated drinking water, millions of dollars to address a healthcare crisis in the Chippewa Valley, and now they’re blocking $36 million in opioid settlement money from being used for proven treatment and counseling programs.
After that, the Chad Holmes Show is joined by 7th District Congressional candidate Kyle Kilbourn to discuss his campaign and current events around central and northern Wisconsin.
Rounding out the Spotlight, the John and Gordy show was joined by Lisa Gaumnitz from Save Our Song Birds and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to talk about "Fat Bird Week".

Rosenberg, Wachs & Holmes (2nd Hour)
It’s not a new law firm, but Rosenberg, Wachs, and Holmes make for a great hour of conversation as we talk to Wausau Mayor Rosenberg and Chad Holmes of Bull Falls Radio in Wausau. And we’ll catch up with former Assembly Rep. and UW Regent Dana Wachs, who became collateral damage when Republican legislators started firing appointees of Gov. Tony Evers en masse—for reasons that remain a mystery, unless childishness says it all.
County Political Party Shell Games (2nd Hour)
Civic Media reporter James Kelly tells us how some county Republican parties and the Trump campaign allegedly conspired to move money around to avoid reporting requirements. And League of Women Voters-Wisconsin Executive Director Debra Cronmiller tells us about how the group is celebrating its 104th anniversary this month and working to expand voters’ rights.
Rural Prosperity Comes from Partnerships (2nd Hour)
In our biweekly visit with Lincoln County dairy farmer Hans Breitenmoser, we’ll be joined by Beth Haskovec of the Wisconsin Office of Rural Prosperity to discuss a way to fund community projects in our state’s smaller communities. And Chad Holmes has the latest news from the Wausau area that he discusses on his daily show on Bull Falls Radio.
Not Schoolhouse Rock (Hour 2)
As kids, we learned from the cartoon “Schoolhouse Rock” how good ideas became bills and bills became laws. It’s a different world today, and Congressman Mark Pocan joins us live to update how a bipartisan immigration and border bill remains in limbo—from the same Republicans who’ve been talking about (and blocking) immigration and border bills for more than a decade.
Award-Winning Friend to Farmers (2nd Hour)
Chippewa County farm management educator Jerry Clark is the 2024 recipient of the University of Wisconsin's Distinguished Teaching Award. He'll tell us about the vital work of helping farmers with crop rotation, markets, and new technologies that make Wisconsin agriculture a big player in global trade and family farm success.
Conservation Starts With Us with Jeff Nania (Hour 2)
It’s Wednesday, and we haven’t forgotten our regular guest, Pat Kreitlow of UpNorthNews Radio. He and Chad Holmes of The Chad Holmes Show on Bull Falls Radio WXCO talk about living up North, higher education, healthcare, the New Hampshire primary, and… Batman’s nipples?
While in Wausau, Todd takes the opportunity to speak with Jeff Nania, a Wisconsin-born former law enforcement officer, writer, conservationist, and biofuel creator. Go to feetwetwriting.com to check out Jeff’s Northern Lakes Mystery series!

You Can’t ‘Both Sides’ January 6th (Hour 2)
We’ll talk to journalist Dan Shafer of The Recombobulation Area. We’ll cover the fall legislative session where Republicans are nixing all kinds of ideas related to improving the economy, but they did rush along a stadium bill for the Brewers—maybe too quickly. And we’ll question whether PolitiFact got it right when addressing criticism of Rep. Derrick Van Orden for being in Washington, DC during the 2021 insurrection.
So Much to Do, So Little Help (Hour 2)
We review what should be an ambitious to-do list for the fall session of the Wisconsin Legislature with state Senate Democratic Leader Melissa Agard—though it still looks like the Republican leadership would rather do little to nothing at all.
LIVE from Wausau
Crute and Dom kick off their "Fall in Love Hometown" tour in Wausau, checking in with Chad Holmes for Wausau sports, and Wausau Mayor Katie Rosenberg for curling, birds, and the politics of Wausau.
