Sister Alice Gerdeman

Equal, not re-, distribution: for the sake of human dignity (Hour 2)

October 9, 2024

Today a bit of a new experience for Maggie and the Millionaires as Maggie talks with two people who don't quite qualify as millionaires. Sister Alice Gerdeman and Sister Quincy Howard, Nuns on the Bus, join Maggie to talk about their work with NETWORK Lobby for Social Justice. Sisters Alice and Quincy share their experiences lobbying for racial, social, and economic justice through a Catholic lens.

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley joins Maggie to talk measures to increase human dignity and wellness in Milwaukee County. He reviews President Biden's address yesterday in Milwaukee on removing lead in Wisconsin's public utilities. Just yesterday, County Executive Crowley approved a monumental investment into affordable housing. All to reaffirm- we all do better when we all do better.
