Shelter & Homes

December 11, 2024

We're happy Molly Yatso-Butz joins Jim and Shannon Cohen to talk about the Day By Day Shelter in Oshkosh. What started as a 6-month-a-year warming shelter has expanded to a 365-day-a-year shelter, providing shelter, food, services, and more. The shelter provides temporary shelter, individualized services, and opportunities for self-sufficiency to empower the most vulnerable adults in the community. Molly also mentions the need for funding and volunteers. Then we're Movin' With The Malcores! Ben & Deanna join to give us an update in the world of realty, and they bring details on a few new listings they have. One of them is in Denmark, and it sounds amazing!

October 14, 2024

It's great to have Michael Friedman in the studio with us for the whole hour! Michael is with our partner, Simple Life Hospitality. Besides sharing a few horror stories, Michael explains some of the steps Simple Life takes to ensure renting out your home doesn't become one of those stories. Check them out if you're interested in renting out your home, OR you're looking for a place to rent and get away for a few days. Then Kate Stel joins us from our Oshkosh studio to talk about the Oshkosh Public Museum's celebration of 100 years in Oshkosh! John joined a crew of United States Veterans on their Stars & Stripes Honor Flight - Flight of Champions and their trip to Washington, DC. It wasn't the first time John has been in DC, but it IS the first time he was able to take in all that the area has to offer. Click the link above to read his story with the Press Times. Then this morning's guest host, Shannon Cohen fills us in on the New Community Shelter's Annual Bowl-A-Thon. Monday Morning Meanderings Sans Maino

October 14, 2024

Maino is taking time to "see the leaves" in the U.P. Shannon Cohen from the New Community Shelter sits in with Jim. The morning starts by Jim complaining that he didn't win on the game yesterday. Primarily because the Packers didn't go for a few extra points. Poor Jim. The conversation leans into supper clubs and the upcoming NFL draft. Brittney Merlot joins to let us know the next few days will be cooler, but next weekend looks like it will be near 70 both days. She also lets us know that this week is probably peak week for checking out the fall foliage in Northern Wisconsin. Next week looks like the peak for Green Bay and the Fox Valley.

It's a great time and Jim and John plan on putting a team together. Will Jim use the bumpers? Will John show up? I guess we'll all find out! Then GIZMO is in the house to talk a bit about Evergreen Theater's production of "The Haunting of Hill House". The show opens this weekend, but he also encourages everyone in the community to try out for any one of the several shows that the theater is presenting for the '24-'25 season. Then GIZMO does a little "radio magic" for the guys and it completely works for both John and Todd.
